call number sort problem
by Margo Duncan 09 Jul '14

09 Jul '14

We're having some issues with call number sort in our reports and I'm wondering if anyone has any insights. It appears that cn_sort has two different methods of sorting call numbers. One way is that 0 is added so that a call number of HD30.19 is HD003019. The other way is with _ so HD30.19 is HD_0030_19. This has the result of sorting the call numbers into two separate batches within a single report. It doesn't matter what the method of sorting call numbers is (as long as it works) but we need it to be consistent. So can I adjust the sorting method, or is there something wrong with my data? And if there's something wrong with my data, what do I need to adjust to have the the call numbers sort correctly? We're running 3.14.03 on Debian. Hello, I am using KOHA 3.10. Everything went right. But last few days, I am facing a serious problem. While circulation, normally fine is ok if due date is over. But if a book is renewed after due date, then fine is not generated after check in. Any kind of help is highly appreciable. -- View this message in context: http://koha.1045719.n5.nabble.com/Fine-Calculation-Problem-tp5803652.html Sent from the Koha-general mailing list archive at Nabble.com.

Removal of rss.pl
by Tomas Cohen Arazi 09 Jul '14

09 Jul '14

Dear users, we are considering the removal of rss.pl fr the 3.18 release. We'd like to hear from those who still rely on that feature (on older versions), to see if its functionality can be covered with another approach. The code as-is will be removed, but could be reintroduced if someone wanted to work on getting it up to date. Will the insanity ever end? What about the barcode? - Smile
by Phillip Ponchot 09 Jul '14

09 Jul '14

And of course the answer is no. Not as long as I am a network engineer, systems administrator, desktop support specialist or helpdesk specialist - there always will be bugs and incompatibilties. As the library has just upgraded to Koha 3.14, I am stamping out issues which thankfully I've had some superb help from the Koha List. One of the peculiar issues has been that whenever the barcode readers scan a book, there is a message that the barcode does not exist. Whenever the book barcode is typed in however, the book can be checked out or in. I had suspected that the return or enter code on the barcode was not being recognized correctly by Koha, but then a return or enter is a return or enter and should work. I found a single item on the web that indicated that this is being caused by the fact that the barcode is sending the form information before the form is complete. The article talked about revising the form setup in the test database. Is there an update to fix this problem and if so can anyone tell me how to get the fix or patch Koha? If there is not an update can anyone tell me how to fix the issue? If someone could point me in the right direction, I would appreciate. Phillip

Koha API
by Edgeworks Creative 07 Jul '14

We could use some help understanding how we go about querying the data in Koha to produce things like book cover images, new item lists, etc. Is there a good reference you can point me to for understanding how we can query koha from the website and display results? We (obviously) still intend to put the koha search itself in place, but I'm talking about programmatically getting at data. Any help would be appreciated.
