Export between two catalog inside 'Staff Client'

Hello, Koha-users ! In my library computer (OS Windows XP), Koha 3.14 works as a 'staff client'. In this computer I have created 2 bibliographic catalogues, named B1 and B2, with identical UKRMARC framewokrs. It is necessary to export database B1 into B2. What option must I choose (among 'Export to CSV Spreadsheet', 'Export to Excel as xml format', 'Export to OpenDocument Spreadsheet format', 'Export to SQL', see: Administration > 4.1.5.1. Export Framework ) to export database B1 into B2 ? Why ? Thank you, Gennady

where to put a link to ILL?

Hello, I just added a link to my library's Interlibrary Loan form in the OPAC, on the 'No results found' screen . However, I'd imagine that often someone will do a search and there will be *some* results, but not the item they are looking for. We are trying to think of somewhere else on the search results screen we could include a link to InterLibrary Loan. We could put it in the header above all pages in the OPAC, but I don't think it would be noticeable there. Does anyone else have links to ILL in their catalog? If so, where are the links? Barcode population/import

Greetings, Apparently, I'm missing something in the documentation that should be common to many library setups: Importing or creating barcodes * Using an ISBN list, we have successfully used MarcEdit to build the MARC records from the LOC * We inturn imported the .mrc file into Koha * However, without the barcodes, we can't checkin/checkout any books * We could manually edit each item and enter it (painful!). Or we could write some SQL code to enter it based on the matching ISBN number, but I read that the Zebra indexing needs to be rebuilt following that. Which leads me to believe that there is an easier way... Questions: What are the best options for going about this? 1) Does Koha have an auto-barcode generation tool? If so, where is it? 2) What is the procedure for importing a list of barcodes that correspond to the matching ISBN number? Magnus, Currently, what we do for our schools during the summer is... 1) Hide the schools from being chosen as pickup locations. Here is an example of our jQuery for a single branch: Staff jQuery: $("#pickup option[value='SILVERHILL'],select[name='pickup'] option[value='SILVERHILL']").hide(); OPAC jQuery: $("option[value='SILVERHILL']").hide(); 2) Update the holds policies under the circulations rules for that library to No Holds Allowed for each type you use. This works pretty well, except that currently Next Available Holds are not honoring this rule. I've reported this in a bug. Christopher Brannon

How to handle a temporarily closed branch?

Hi! Oslo Public Library needs to close some of its branches every now and then. How are y'all handling that in Koha? Our idea so far is twofold: 1. Make it possible to mark a branch as closed and have the effect of this be that the library can not be selected as a pickup location when placing a hold. (This could either be a checkbox saying "this branch is now closed", or it could be a from date and a to date, in which case the library would be disabled as a pickup location between these dates.) 2. Create a new value for the NOT_LOAN authorized value, e.g. 3 = "Branch closed". Then we would create a plugin or a new tool to make it easy to update the "Not for loan" status of all items connected to the given branch, that has a 0 value for the "Not for loan" data. (And make it equally easy to go back the other way when the library is open again.) (This could perhaps also be combined: Make it possible to set dates for closing and opening, and then have a script that is run every night that checks if any libraries are due to be opened or closed, and then updates the "Not for loan" values accordingly.) On strange "Auto-RE :" mails to Koha-forum
