Where can I find documentation on the Koha tables

Where can I find where information is stored in the Koha tables? For instance, I know that books are entered via the records-import table and entries end up in the items and biblioitems table. When a book is checked out what tables are changed to show that the book is checked out. If the book is "deleted" from koha, does that release the book from the table which shows that the book is checked out? Any infomation is welcome and thanks to everyone whose helped me with this issue. Phillip

Hi Katie, We had been using one until last year when we lost the connection after a network upgrade and didn't bother to restore it as we're now using the same printer that does our routing list slips. Unfortunately I can't remember how we first set it up, whether or it was done by our own IT staff or in conjunction with Catalyst IT. But it certainly can be done. Http Bad request error messages

Hi! Librarians complains about a very annoying issue (perhaps a bug): Once in a while they get this error: * Bad Request* Your browser sent a request that this server could not understand. Size of a request header field exceeds server limit. This happened with Firefox (v23 to v30, either Windows and Linux clients), from Koha 3.14 to current (for us) 3.16. I notice Owen Leonard already had this problem (bug #10857 <http://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=10857>). The workaround is pretty simple: Just delete all browser cookies (or just Koha ones). I tried to reproduce the error, cleaning cookies and doing some big searches. Even Koha documentation says they use three cookies ( http://koha-community.org/faqs/cookies-koha-use/) I ended up with this 6 cookies that all share this info: *Host* *myCatalogURL* *Path* / *Send for* Any type of connection *Expires* At end of session But different name and content (copied at the end). Cookies seems to exceeds the facto limit of 4093 bytes per domain ( http://browsercookielimits.x64.me/) but no the RFC2109 ( http://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc2109.txt) so this shouldn't be a problem... I tried increasing Apache LimitRequestFieldSize directive without luck. Wipe Koha database (just auth and biblio records)

Hi all, Once in a while I need to erase / clean / reset Koha database, and with this I mean to remove bibliographic and authority records (leaving systempreference intact). Some years ago it works just TRUNCATE TABLE biblio, biblioitems, items; then with foreign key constraint the harder DELETE FROM biblio; seems to do the job. cleaning all other tables in cascade. But now (with Koha v3.16) I just want to say that *Appendix F. Resetting the Koha Database <http://manual.koha-community.org/3.16/en/resetkohadb.html>* might be not exactly right, but with this trick <http://stackoverflow.com/questions/5452760/truncate-foreign-key-constrained…> (disable foreign key constraint checks) seems to work: *SET FOREIGN_KEY_CHECKS=0;TRUNCATE TABLE biblio;TRUNCATE TABLE biblioitems;TRUNCATE TABLE items;TRUNCATE TABLE auth_header;TRUNCATE TABLE sessions; TRUNCATE TABLE zebraqueue;SET FOREIGN_KEY_CHECKS=1;* And of course then: *koha-rebuild-zebra --verbose --full $(koha-list)* Am I right? Athena to Koha

Good day Fiji, We did it two years ago. >From Athena, you can export your marc data from Cataloging>Export MARC Records>select range "Barcode", put a filename then choose where to save your data and finally I do suggest choose "Export as multiple MARC records". You can use MarcEdit http://marcedit.reeset.net/ to clean and map your MARC data in preparation for import in Koha (e.g. 852 to 952, adding your homebranch, etc..). It would be easier if you have a librarian or someone with you who understand MARC. MARC Framework

Would someone please export and send me a (MARC 21) copy of their Sound Recordings format? (CSV please). Our Sound Recordings Framework was mangled a while ago due to some overenthusiastic and under informed tinkering. Now that we're getting around to cataloguing sound recordings, it's time to fix it. As the IT guru is up to his eyeballs in other things right now, this would be the quickest way to fix the problem (with my limited tech skills). Yes, I know, back ups. . . there was a backup file, but it seems to have vanished. In atonement for my sins, I will add our version to the wiki ( http://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/MARC_frameworks) once I've edited and tested it. We have a lot of archival recordings which will require some of the less commonly used fields. Just to give you an idea how the logviewer would display the logs, have a look at http://snag.gy/vca9M.jpg >From the image, you can see the who, when, what and on which record details of the operation in question. In my case, I needed my custom plugins (.kpz files) to be logged, so I simply added another option to the logviewer script and added the brief logging code to my plugin code.
