OAI-PMH file information
by Steve Sowder 23 Jul '14

23 Jul '14

I have defined an OAI Set and the program "build_oai_sets.pl" has been been executed. (It was not where the 3.16. manual said it would be.) Now, where is the OAI-PMH file? I suspect the site name is the same as the "setName" (or is it the "setSpec"?) as defined in the OAI set. What is the server address? The sets are defined at: http://koha-intra.andrews.edu/cgi-bin/koha/admin/oai_sets.pl Is the server address "nearby"? BTW; Koha versiion 3.16.01.000 OS version: Linux koha 3.2.0-60-generic #91-Ubuntu SMP Wed Feb 19 03:54:44 UTC 2014 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux MySQL version: mysql Ver 14.14 Distrib 5.5.38, for debian-linux-gnu (x86_64) using readline 6.2 If any of that helps. How to make researchable only records with phisical items?
by jops 22 Jul '14

22 Jul '14

Hi everyone, I'm a koha newbie and this is my installation http://koha.magma.im I have imported some marc records but I would like to set researchable only the records that have at least one item. For example I'd like to search only records like this http://koha.magma.im/cgi-bin/koha/opac-detail.pl?biblionumber=4807 and not these ones with no phisical items http://koha.magma.im/cgi-bin/koha/opac-detail.pl?biblionumber=4638 How to do it? Koha Migration
by Riley Childs 22 Jul '14

22 Jul '14

Hello, we have koha installed on a Ubuntu 12.04, we are about to visualize our server infrastructure into Hyper-V, I have looked at a few options (VMWare Converter and then convert the VHDK into a VHD or taring the file system and untaring it on the new Ubuntu install). I wasn't sure what exactly the backup dumps in /var/spool contained, and how they were restored. Also, does anyone else have any suggestions on the migration? Biblio appears twice (absolute duplicate down to timestamp and biblio and control numbers)
by Elaine Bradtke 21 Jul '14

21 Jul '14

Koha 3.14.06 Quite a while back we had a problem with duplicate biblios appearing for newly added catalogue records. But this time it's only one. It is an exact duplicate of a record that had an item added to it (not a new catalogue record). A search on the biblio number returns both records, one says no items, the other has four items attached. However if you click on the record with no items, it shows the four items attached, if you click on the "next" button, it shows the same record. Looking at the MARC in two separate windows, they are absolutely identical - time stamp, biblionumber, control number. This shouldn't be possible. I don't know how to fix this, because I can't tell which is the ghost and which is the original. I'm tempted to export the record. Delete both copies, and then re import the record. We run Koha on a virtual machine, and I hear that there was a reboot over the weekend and our test site froze. Production only seems to have suffered this one glitch as far as we can tell. Re-indexing didn't seem to help. Is there is a particular command we need to use to resolve duplicate biblios? Re: [Koha] Koha Email Question
by Phillip Ponchot 21 Jul '14

I can't believe that I spent so much time troubleshooting the Koha mail issue and missed two obvious things. Thanks so much to Riley for pointing out that the koha commands should exist on Ubuntu. The most embarrassing issue is that the reason that I could not find them was that I forgot to use sudo. I have turned on the email so now I'll see if it works. Thanks to everyone who replied to this posting. In addition apparently these installations are governed by the flavor of Linux such as Debian, Ubuntu, Redhat and FreeBSD. GBSD 23-07: UTF-8 code cleanup
by Tomas Cohen Arazi 21 Jul '14

21 Jul '14

Hi, last general meeting we set Wednesday 23rd, July as our next Global Bug Squashing Day. This time, GBSD targets a specific problem: UTF-8 handling problems in Koha, for which a bug has been filled (bug 11944 [1]) and Jonathan Druart (Joubu) has been working on. The idea is to test Jonathan's work, and find bugs (and hopefully fix them). The key ideas on how data must be handled so no encoding problems arise can be found on the wiki [2]. Please notice that Jonathan's work is currently on a branch in Biblibre's git repo [3]. Biblibre has also set sandboxes for testing [4]. Sandboxes 6 and 16 have been set for this specific bug (MARC21 and UNIMARC respectively). We hope you can join us!
