Problems creating OAI datasets

I have two OAI sets defined with mapping to the contents of a 595s field. To create the database the online manual in section 4.8.4 says to execute: misc/migration_tools/build_oai_sets.pl From our techie: <<< There are missing configurations. For starters, I copied /usr/share/koha/koha-conf.xml.in to /usr/share/koha/koha-conf.xml (because it didn't exist). Now it is complaining that it can't access the database. I ran it as koha-koha from /usr/share/koha with "perl -I/usr/share/koha/lib bin/migration_tool/build_oai_sets.pl" and got back the following errors: DBI connect('dbname=koha;host=localhost;port=3306','_DBC_DBUSER_',...) failed: Access denied for user '_DBC_DBUSER_'@'localhost' (using password: YES) at /usr/share/koha/lib/C4/Context.pm line 802 Access denied for user '_DBC_DBUSER_'@'localhost' (using password: YES) at /usr/share/koha/lib/C4/Context.pm line 802. I need to know (or where it is set) what the DBC_DBUSERS and password for it are set. >>> Where do we go from here? Thanks for any help. Reg: Search issue in 3.16

I have installed latest version of koha - 3.16 in my cloud server which has Cent OS 6.5 x86_64. Search doesn't seem to work. rebuild_zebra.pl is running fine: root@server [/var/log/koha]# /usr/share/koha/bin/migration_tools/rebuild_zebra.p Zebra configuration information ================================ Zebra biblio directory = /var/lib/koha/zebradb/biblios Zebra authorities directory = /var/lib/koha/zebradb/authorities Koha directory = /usr/share/koha/intranet/cgi-bin Lockfile = /var/lock/koha/zebradb/rebuild/rebuild..LCK BIBLIONUMBER in : 999$c BIBLIOITEMNUMBER in : 999$d ================================ skipping authorities ==================== exporting biblio ==================== 1.... Records exported: 5 ==================== REINDEXING zebra ==================== ==================== CLEANING ==================== but when I search for the item, it either says 'the record does not exists' else it shows the records without any biblio info. When I try editing that record, it has nothing in it. Checked the database and all the information seem to be there. So please help me with this. RDA searching and display

Hi all, I understand that new Koha installations includes the RDA tags and subfields in the MARC21 frameworks. However on looking at the Zebra search configuration (in package install in /etc/koha/zebradb/marc_defs/marc21/biblios/record.abs and biblio*) I cannot see any reference to tag 264 for RDA publication info tag. Similarly I cannot see any reference to 264 in the xsl stylesheets for displaying detail records (/usr/share/koha/intranet/htdocs/intranet-tmpl/prog/en/xslt/MARC21slim2intranetDetail.xsl and /usr/share/koha/opac/htdocs/opac-tmpl/bootstrap/en/xslt/MARC21slim2OPACDetail.xsl). I am not a cataloguer and have not been following the great RDA debate so I do not know exactly what needs indexing and how it needs displaying, but just wanted to check with the list that I had not missed anything obvious. If it does need to be done (indexing and display of RDA tags) should I raise a bugzilla for each of these and link them to bug 10344 that is a holding bug for all RDA bugs? All the best. Full Vietnamese translation for Koha 3.12 and Introduction of Koha Vietnam

Dear Koha-translate and Koha-community fellows, It is Dung Hoang, Director of D&L Technology Integration and Consulting company (D&L) in Vietnam. Our website are www.dlcorp.com.vn, www.koha.vn. Our company is one of the most reputed company in for providing library solution services and has been doing research and promoting Koha for the last couple of years in Vietnam. We are pleased to announce that after a year of effort and testing, we are able to share the full Koha 3.12 Vietnamese translation to Koha Community. The 4 Vietnamese PO files for Koha 3.12 have been submitted to Koha-translate site under username kohavn and they are waiting for approval (http://translate.koha-community.org/vi/312/) We are also in the process of translating Koha 3.16 into Vietnamese and we hope we could made the full contribution in this July. Agreed, Robin and Galen. While it is a personal inclination to have more community info, it doesn't necessarily make sense to require certain content (other than the link) in the first place. As Galen points out, we really don't want this list to represent any endorsement, and the more rules we have, the more likely it is to be interpreted as such. I suppose, at the end of the day, the onus is on clients to figure out their needs. Even if companies represent themselves as "endorsed", "official", or "registered", I suppose all we can do is state on the Paid Support page that no such status exists. As I mentioned in my original email, Interleaf certainly has a +1 from me. On a related note, the list might be due for a prune. I don't think "Mill Run Technology Solutions" is in operation anymore? Change Koha Database Name

The Koha installation on my new server named the database koha_koha. I would like to change the database name to koha which I can do easily in mysql but I want to know what I would have to do in the koha program to recognize the new database? I'm just trying to save myself hours looking for the solution, so if anyone has done this and knows the answer please let me know. Thanks. Phillip

At least two Koha developers have already submitted talks, you don't want us to outshine you, do you‽ Even if you don't fancy the idea of talking (though you should consider it, it's fun), it's worth coming along to see what's happening in the world of Open Source/Free Software development. Here's the theme of this year's conference: * Open - Open Source software, hardware, data and standards (protocols) enable higher quality, more secure products, and faster innovation. * Inclusive - Openness enables and encourages exploration, the foundation of education. Making products accessible to for instance vision impaired people becomes easier. Affordable products are available to those with less money. I also struggled to find the link back to the Koha community, although I notice that it is in the same style as the other links on the page. While I think this has web accessibility/usability issues, I suppose it's no less visible than the other links on the page. Personally, I don't really like the description of the community or the history, but that might just be in regard to my own preferences. I would probably include a reference to the Horowhenua Library Trust as the original sponsor, and make the reference to the Koha Community a bit more obvious. Rather than saying "With a large community of active users, the emphasis is on sharing information across all Koha users", I might say something like "Koha is developed internationally by the Koha Community [link here] where the emphasis is on collaboration and cooperation." With the exception of the late mention of "Over 120 developers world-wide" and an earlier mention of "support companies", it sort of sounds like the "community" might just be Interleaf's client base. Another idea might be to replace the following "Development is sponsored by libraries of varying types and sizes, volunteers, and support companies worldwide. Developed in New Zealand, the first system went live in 2000. There are over 10,000 systems in operation world-wide" with something like "Originally developed by Katipo for the Horowhenua Library Trust in New Zealand, the first system went live in 2000. There are now many systems in operation in many languages on every continent, except perhaps Antarctica. The Koha Community [link here] (a global community of libraries of varying types and sizes, volunteers, and support companies) now develops Koha collectively and provides two major releases a year and maintenance releases every month." Like I said though, that might just be personal preference. That's what I think when I think about "Companies must show their support of the Koha Community". I think Interleaf does add a visible link (even if it is a bit tough to spot) and genuinely offer Koha services, so it's probably all right to list them. I'll leave that one up to the volunteers who manage the listing. I am curious how it was decided there are 10,000+ Koha systems (I'm sure there are, and I think I've seen that number before, but the actual number of Koha systems is a mystery to all, I think) and that there are 120+ developers (I believe that docs/history.txt states that there have been 246 developers as of the writing of this email, so while 120+ is true...it just seems an odd number to choose recently). I don't know if it's worthwhile to revisit the rules about what constitutes support for the community by adding a visible link. After other issues regarding the Koha support vendor listings, I would be curious to find out how many people chose their vendor based on that page...
