Hello , please, I am trying to install koha all over since I didnt get it right at first. When I copied and pasted the below command on the terminal it was a blank file that came up. Please, see the attached . AND I also noticed I have 2 koha_library on the database. I have also included the screen shot in the attached file. 1. *Edit configuration file:* *$ **sudo vi /etc/apache2/sites-available/library* Change intranet port to: *:8080 Please, I need help on how to fix this . Dear All, The following ( https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B2Cmcc6xutSgY3RFMmc3TTZpenc/view?pli=1 )are the General steps to get your libsys data in excel format for final conversion into Marc format to switching into other ILMS software. Please note that there are several other tips and tricks which you can use to convert your libsys data in excel, so that you can migrate in some other desired software like Koha, Newgenlib, Evergreen etc. The reports module given under Cataloging/Circulation/Serial of Libsys software can be used to get the data in Excel format. In-case you are not getting subject heading than it can be added at the time of excel data conversion as well as you can also group together all the same titles, but you should have at least ISBN/ISSN number in your records. Marc editor and excel (http://marcedit.reeset.net/downloads ) is wonderful software which not only converts your data in marc format but it also gives you opportunity to make your data standard before importing in new ILMS. Dear List, We kindly request to list "Koha Support Schweiz" (www.koha-support.ch) as Support Provider. Koha Support Schweiz was founded in December 2011. Members of Koha Support Schweiz (www-koha-support.ch) are the companies 'marc veron ag' (www.veron.ch) and 'Pro Acta GmbH' (www.proacta.ch) Since 2012 we contribute to Koha (Marc Véron's first patch was pushed in April 2012). Our aim is to provide support for libraries, institutions and companies who want to evaluate and/or use mainstream Koha in Switzerland, and to contribute to the Koha Community. Hello We are testing Koha 3.16 and we are having problems to send mail claim late issue. when we try to claim, we push to button, the serial changes into 'cliamed, but no mail sent, in order to make sure that somethings is wrong, we have checked logs from apache claims.pl: Bad or missing From address: '', referer: http://formacion-intra.orex.es/cgi-bin/koha/serials/claims.pl [Sat Nov 08 19:41:23 2014] [error] [client 83.55.68.172] [Sat Nov 8 19:41:23 2014] claims.pl: at /usr/share/koha/intranet/cgi-bin/serials/ claims.pl line 83, referer: http://formacion-intra.orex.es/cgi We have checked that was a bug for 3.8 and compared the patch with the current files and are identical, then it should work. We have check that provider has contact mail, we have added also booksellermail directly to mysql just in case, but the issue is still there Before adding this potential bug to bugzilla, we would ask if anybody have seen this issue also on 3.16.4? Hi Katrin, I did some research about zebra before. This search engine doesn't support Quotation for exact match. Actually, I prefer to change search engine to Solr but as you and Jonathan mentioned before, koha doesn't support solr so I will try to modify zebra to get better search result. Zebra problems

Hello All, Recently we replaced our Koha 3.06 with a new install of Koha 3.16 on Linux Mint 13 XFCE via Ubuntu packages. Since the upgrade, searching for books, both from the old database and recently entered, in both the staff client and the opac yields only books in the reservoir in the staff section. Are there other permissions I should check? Which ones? What should the permissions be? Should the user names and passwords for Mysql and Zebra and Koha all be the same? When I investigated the path all the files seemed to be there, but the /usr/ bin/ zebraidx file is, according to gedit, “corrupted”. Is that the problem? What should be in it? Can I remove it and download a single replacement file? What would the commands be? I have also noticed that ' libmarc-xml-perl_1.0.1-1_all.deb ' is sitting in my home directory. Where does it belong? If I download it again as in the Koha wiki Koha on Ubuntu packages – long, I get a message “Permission denied”. Hi Bob: That sounds like a great idea. I've been keen on a Road Map for a while now. I also like the idea of the two new roles. I'm not volunteering for either, but I think it would be rather useful to have people in those shoes! Hi Helen: I'm not sure if someone has already helped you, but I can see at least one obvious problem just looking at your email. I assume that you're using MARC21? Do you also have database access? Where is the biblionumber being stored in these records? Is it in 090$c or is it in 999$c? (The number from the biblio.biblionumber column should probably appear in the 999$c.) If it is 999$c, then continue following these instructions. If it's 090$c, then I'll have to respond again later :p. If you examine your records, I bet that they have 999$c and 999$d fields, but not 090$c and 090$d fields. So the first step will be to go to "Administration", then "Koha to MARC mapping". You'll want to change "biblionumber" so that it uses Tag 999 and subfield "c". Then you'll want to do the same with "biblioitemnumber" mapping it to Tag 999 and subfield "d". Then try a full re-index of your bibliographic records (e.g. perl rebuild_zebra.pl -b -x -r -v -v -v). The extra "-v" flags are handy as they print out more information about what's going on as you're indexing. Hopefully that should make you right as rain again. If you find that your biblionumber is being stored sometimes in 090$c and sometimes in 999$c, it might be an idea to run "touch_all_biblios.pl" after you've changed your "Koha to MARC mapping" to 999$c (and 999$d). That should put the biblionumber (and biblioitemnumber) in the right place, and you can try re-indexing again. Let me/us know how you go! It's worth mentioning that the problem isn't with Zebra per se, but rather with how the query is being parsed before being sent to Zebra. While I've outlined some ideas on how to fix the quotation problem, I haven't had time/energy/money to fix it. It's also worth mentioning that quotation marks aren't typically for an "exact" match, but rather for a "phrase" match, which the Advanced Search form already supports (without a need for quotation marks). Invitation for Libraries using Koha to participate in the annual Library Automation Perceptions survey

To all libraries using Koha: I'm collecting data for this year's International Library Automation Perceptions survey. This survey, now in its eighth annual iteration, provides an opportunity for libraries to register their perceptions of the strategic automation products they use, organizations that provide these products, and the quality of support delivered. The survey also probes at considerations for migrating to new systems and the level of interest in open source products. As open source software supported both by the general community and by a variety of different service firms, some special considerations apply to Koha. In the libraries.org directory, Koha is represented by a combination of the name Koha and the primary support organization involved. (For example Koha - Catalyst IT, Koha -- ByWater Solutions). Libraries relying entirely on community support or internal resources are represented as Koha - Independent. If there are any special support arrangements not covered by these conventions, just mention that in the comments area of the survey. In this way the survey will be able to reflect both the functionality of the Koha software and the quality of support provided. This model of representing libraries using Koha isn't ideal, but is a pragmatic approach that aggregates all users of Koha while also segregating the different support scenarios. While the numeric rating scales support the statistical results of the study, it's the comments offered that provide the most insight into the current state of library automation satisfaction. Comments will be published in the survey results, redacted to conceal text that might identify the individual or organization responding. The raw data for the survey will not be shared, but reports are available that provide a variety of ways to view results. Please help your fellow librarians who might be in the process of evaluating library automation options by responding to the survey. Any information regarding vendor performance and product quality can be helpful when making strategic decisions regarding automation alternatives. A large number of responses strengthen the impact of the survey and the subsequent report. If you have responded in previous years, please respond again this year to help identify any trends regarding improvement or worsening of the products or support services.
