Just chiming in, we have Koha and an RFID system from FE Technologies. We were the first Koha installation they had done and it took a lot of time and effort to get their software to talk to Koha via SIP - they even had to create a differentiated version of their software for it to work. Since then, however, we haven't had any problems. I would say though we are a very small library with only one self-check kiosk and whilst we have a checkout pad at the librarian's desk, I only use it for encoding tags, not for checking out as that part of the FE Tech software does not work very well with Koha. It works but it's very fiddly and only does single items. When we were looking at RFID systems, Bibliotheca and 3M were the others we looked at. Bibliotheca sent us a quote but weren't interested otherwise. 3M Australia on the other hand have a lot of experience in doing Koha installations in New Zealand. They were dearer than FE Tech though, which is why we went with FE Tech who had assured us they were compatible with Koha and fitted within our budget constraints. If you have the money, I would suggest talking to 3M and ask them for contacts of installations they've done with Koha in NZ for feedback. Cheers! They have a new staff circ program that does multiple items check in and check out. SIP definitely times out with the new program. We haven't had an issue with the gates timing out. With the new program, you can checkin/checkout up to 10 items at time, if the pad is strong enough. Jason Burds I.T. And the SIP settings on the kiosks and workstations? We bumped the Koha timeouts up to about 5 minutes and have the Bibliotheca kit sending SC messages once every 4-1/2 minutes. Even with well over 60 systems throughout the county, we don't ever have to restart our server except under very unusual and exceptional thrashing... Possible 3.18.2 Bug

Hi, I have just upgrade from 16.1 to 18.2, but when in go to: Tools>Log viewer I get this error: ... Type of arg 1 to keys must be hash (not array element) at /usr/share/koha/intranet/cgi-bin/tools/viewlog.pl line 214, near "];" Execution of /usr/share/koha/intranet/cgi-bin/tools/viewlog.pl aborted due to compilation errors. ... Does anyone already experienced this? Acquisitions Problem

Evening Everyone, Not sure if this is a bug or I've got a problem using Acquisitions in version 3.16.04. I'm trying to add an order into a basket under a vendor in Acquisitions. I've tried using both "suggestions" and "a new empty record". Whenever I get down to the Accounting Details window and try to enter a Quantity, the system will not let me enter anything into that field. Naturally you can't process an order without a quantity and the system lets me know that. No problem with other fields. Is this a bug I need to report or am I missing something? I've tried everything I can think of. I have Koha 3.16.04.000 System is an Amazon EC2 linux Debian server. Thanks for your assistance. Hope this is below 40 kn ! Please, refer to these: http://turl.ca/kohalang1 AND http://turl.ca/kohalang2 In the search settings, I have selected *san,ben,hin,eng,fre,ita* (as per ISO 639-2 language codes = Sanskrit, Bengali, Hindi, English, French, Italian), as limitation to the choices for the OPAC dropdown in the Advanced Search page. (I have also tried with the pipe separator: *san|ben|hin|eng|fre|ita*... with the same result! ) However, in the actual dropdown, the choice does not include the language Sanskrit PLUS the order is not the one of my choiceor not even an A-Z order... Could any kind koha-expert check into this and explain why the Sanskrit language does not appear as a choice in the OPAC search dropdown? And why the order of the languages is not the same, as the one I have indicated in the administration? I think we should be able to arrange the languages as per our choice and requirements or, at the very worst, in an A-Z order, for this feature to be useful to the users. Even better, as I am seen in most of the best websites, nowadays, there should be a clickable multiple choice, not a single one! In such a way that, for ex., if I want to find out how many titles I have in any Indic language, I can select Sanskrit, Bengali and Hindi or, instead, if I want to know how many in any European language, I can select English, French and Italian. autoremove Wants to remove Koha Deps

When I issued apt-get autoremove it offered to remove the following perl packages: libdata-paginator-perl libmoosex-storage-perl libstring-rewriteprefix-perl libtime-progress-perl I am unsure if these are still necessary. Help with JSON and public reports

Hi , First I'm very new with JSON . I'd like to ask : as I understood from JSON documentation that the output data in JSON format must look like something like to this : [ { "Name" : "Alfreds Futterkiste", "City" : "Berlin", "Country" : "Germany" }, { "Name" : "Berglunds snabbköp", "City" : "Luleå", "Country" : "Sweden" }, { "Name" : "Centro comercial Moctezuma", "City" : "México D.F.", "Country" : "Mexico" }, { "Name" : "Ernst Handel", "City" : "Graz", "Country" : "Austria" } ] but in Koha the output for Public reports is like this : [["23-12-2014","maisara","6"],["23-12-2014","nadia","10"],["22-12-2014","hakkar","17"],["22-12-2014","nadia","3"],["22-12-2014","abdramaneg","21"]] the field names is not in the output , and I realized ( & maybe I'm wrong) that to handle JSON text you must have id for each field ) to handle it with your script . so is this a correct output from Koha ? and can be handled in some advanced methods with JSON ? or do I have to write my SQL report in a way to CONCAT the field name with the field data in every data cell ? thanks :) . -- *Karam Qubsi <https://www.linkedin.com/in/kqubsi>* *Shah Alam , Malaysia . *
