Does it make sense to carry 'prog' as an option in OPACFallback anymore?
by Indranil Das Gupta 11 Jul '15

11 Jul '15

Hi all, As we move towards 3.22, does it really make sense to carry 'prog' as an option, and that too the default option in the OPACFallback syspref? What is everyone's opinion? http://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=13291 cheers -- Indranil Das Gupta L2C2 Technologies Phone : +91-98300-20971 Blog : http://indradg.randomink.org/blog IRC : indradg on irc://irc.freenode.net Twitter : indradg -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-==-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Please exchange editable Office documents only in ODF Format. Cataloguing Serials help?
by catarinafrc 11 Jul '15

11 Jul '15

I have posted this question a while ago, but not much help was given. I have never worked with Koha before and had no training on it, and even though I read the manual and search for similar topics no one has the answer for me. I have been trying to catalog serials, but it just wont catalog it the right way. *1 -* As an exemple: I have created a subscription for a specific serial and tried to create the items... the problem is after I created it, the appearance is different from other libraries examples I have been following. Instead of just appearing just one item, all seven of them appear... is it the way it's supposed to be? <http://koha.1045719.n5.nabble.com/file/n5846829/SERIALS.png> *2 -* Other problem is: how can I, during the cataloguing, associate the title & author of the article to a specific item? This is not specified in the manual. I want to make a connection between the articles on each serial volume with that specific volume, but no field on my record allows that... I know these are very basic questions for some but I seriously just started now, and need help. Mis-match in the labelling 952$b and 952$c between staff client and OPAC?
by Indranil Das Gupta 11 Jul '15

11 Jul '15

Hi all, on opac-detail.pl the table column reads - "Current location" which is actually "Shelving location" (952$c) in the staff client item edit screen, where 952$b is labelled as "Current location" should this be treated as a bug? I'm on 3.20.1 thanks -- Indranil Das Gupta Phone : +91-98300-20971 Blog : http://indradg.randomink.org/blog IRC : indradg on irc://irc.freenode.net Twitter : indradg -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-==-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Please exchange editable Office documents only in ODF Format. Re: [Koha] Multiple Items for a Single Record
by Mahesh Angadi 09 Jul '15

09 Jul '15

Dear Professionals, At the time of import through MARCEDIT, if you are having say 3 items, i.e., 3 copies of a book (with 3 different barcode) attached to a bibliographic record, then an ideal mechanism should be as follows:- ************ Bibliographic Record Details with Marc Tag **************** 952$a*********Item 1 Details **************** 952$a*********Item 2 Details **************** 952$a*********Item 3 Details **************** Otherwise, for the same record/title, 3 different bibliographic records will be created and each will have one item attached to it. Similarly as Bob Birchall from Calyx suggested, all item details for eg., 952$a*****952Sb*****952$c**** should be in one line, otherwise you will get multiple bibliographic records for the same title with item details scatterd amongst them. -- Mr. Mahesh M. Re: [Koha] Database without tables
by Chris Cormack 07 Jul '15

The tables are not created until you run the web based part of the installer. You do this by accessing the staff site in a web browser. I'm trying to install koha-common in Debian Jessie but the instance remains empty, I don't know why. Details: the server is a remote server accessing using ssh, operative system is Debian Jessie, the server where I've installed koha is the same running mysql so I understand I have to use koha-create - --create-db, but the result is a warning about empty instance and no staff user created. If I obseve the database using mysl, I can see the database but wiht no tables into. If I go to OPAC or intra sites, the only I get is a field to write a search and nothing else.
