Help to assign one barcode each to 10000+ records in mrc file

Sir, For the first time I purchased e-books from a publisher. They provided me a marc file (.mrc) for all the ebook titles (10000+). I can upload it directly to my Koha after adding and editing certain fields in records and add items with subfields having same description. I can do so using marcedit 5.2 as far as all records have same description to be added in that tag / copying from another field. But my problem is adding barcode (accession number in 952$p) to these records as each record will have different barcode. I tried converting marc file in excel. There is one marc tag per column but some of the columns have multiple subfields. I inserted barcode column, item type column, location column, Now I need to convert this excel to .mrc. The issue is I am not able to map them while converting to mrk file as each tag (above 010) must have subfield. I cannot map columns with multiple subfields eg. subject headings. Jesse PS: I am so happy to see the Arabic language resource community embracing Koha. I firmly believe we will see Koha grow across the region. Library Technology.org <http://librarytechnology.org/> does not list too many libraries yet using Koha in the region and in the peninsula - which leads me to believe many ARE using it but have not started a profile yet on that site. Over time, these numbers will increase. As a result, the conference attendees will reflect that change. It's just a matter of time. Here's to the future! KohaCon 15 Was Awesome

Salvete! I would like to publicly thank our KohaCon15 hosts. It was magical being part of a highly academic Conference in the midst of the manicured tropical setting at IITA. There were meaty discussions about the future of the Community in Nigeria, and I was very happy to be allowed to listen to the discussion at hand. All of the participants shared keen insights, and it was easily one of my favourite Conferences. I only wish that some of our friends from the Middle East had attended; I was looking forward to meeting them in person. For those that decided against going due to security reasons, I would say that Lagos was similar in nature to Philadelphia in terms of character. Ibadan was close to Urbana-Champaign, though the former boasts a much larger population than the latter. Don't let safety stop you from visiting in future. If you need tips on how to get your Visa from the States, feel free to contact me off list. Cheers, Brooke

While doing a upgrade on our test koha instance (based on a copy of production), I received the following errors.: - [Sat Oct 24 23:52:23 2015] updatedatabase.pl: C4::Installer::load_sql returned the following errors while attempting to load /home/koha/koha-test/intranet/cgi-bin/installer/data/mysql/atomicupdate/hourlyloans.sql: - [Sat Oct 24 23:52:23 2015] updatedatabase.pl: ERROR 1060 (42S21) at line 1: Duplicate column name 'lengthunit' - [Sat Oct 24 23:52:23 2015] updatedatabase.pl: C4::Installer::load_sql returned the following errors while attempting to load /home/koha/koha-test/intranet/cgi-bin/installer/data/mysql/atomicupdate/oai_sets.sql: - [Sat Oct 24 23:52:23 2015] updatedatabase.pl: ERROR 1062 (23000) at line 35: Duplicate entry 'OAI-PMH:AutoUpdateSets' for key 'PRIMARY' I know from previous experience that these kinds of error are sometimes benign, but I would like some feedback on whether I need to take any kind of action in this particular case. Circulation register delayed

Hello. We have a very little library in Spain (over 500 items, no more). Staff persons are present only a day per week (thursday) but the library is available full time. We have a paper sheets for circulation purpose: people write the item, the name, the email and the date. Now we are trying to migrate to Koha and we are thinking there is a problem wiht this flow: lets say a person took an item on friday and write all data in paper, next thursday we take the paper and register all data, but the circulation date is the date we are registering not last friday. I was looking for a way to register a loan in other date than current one without success. I was looking for a tool to modify loan records, but the only was using SQL. Regards and thanks in advanced
