Single character searches fail in koha 3.20.4 but work fine in v3.2.2
by Andreas Roussos 02 Dec '15

02 Dec '15

Hello everyone, We are running koha 3.20.4 in a development VM and have a problem when making single character searches (i.e. searches that would normally return a lot of results). Oddly enough, our production koha which is on v3.2.2 does not suffer from the same issue (please see the attached screenshots). I followed the instructions in http://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/Troubleshooting_Zebra and confirmed that the zebra daemon does indeed return a result set when making a single character search ("f α" for example). So, I think the actual problem must lie with one of the Perl scripts that process the data fed back from zebra/MySQL. How do we figure out which Perl script is choking on invalid UTF8 data? Is there a way to find which biblios/authorities contain invalid characters and to correct them? Thanks in advance for your help. Kind regards, Andreas

New to community-Deleted records in search results
by Kim Bevis 01 Dec '15

01 Dec '15

Hi, I'm Kim Bevis at IDA CCR Library in San Diego, CA. My organization installed version 3.18 of Koha via Equinox in June 2015. To clean up the catalog, I have had to delete large numbers of bibliographic records. Last week the deleted records randomly began to remain in catalog search results. When deleted record is opened from the search results list the following error message occurs: The record you requested does not exist (11158). Maybe an to be an indexing error? Thanks.

BibLibre & IFLA library marketing award
by Paul Poulain 27 Nov '15

27 Nov '15

Hello koha users ! In case you've missed the information : BibLibre is the sponsor of the "IFLA BibLibre International Library Marketing Award" (http://www.ifla.org/node/9898) I would be more than happy if the winner is a Koha library. So, don't hesitate to apply if you have innovative marketing projects/campaigns. (to avoid any misunderstanding: it's not BibLibre that choose the winner. So this email is only/mostly to encourage you, but you won't get a better chance because you're using Koha/knowing me ;-) ) PS: Owen, you should apply: the next IFLA conference is close to your home. That would cost us much less money to fund the trip PS2: previous PS = kidding, of course :D :D :D -- Paul Poulain, Associé-gérant / co-owner BibLibre, Services en logiciels libres pour les bibliothèques BibLibre, Open Source software and services for libraries

question on bug 6874 and html5 video streaming
by Hugo Agud 26 Nov '15

26 Nov '15

Good morning We're still checking koha 3_22 beta and one librarian raised one question on attach a file to bibliographic. The patch works fine, but I guess that what we're checking it is not part of the functionality but we wish to ask for confirmation. We have configured upload_file propertly and it works fine!, but we have tried to use in conjuntion with html5 and it is not working (html5 video streaming or image 856) I guess it is because it creates a link to the file, it just call to koha the file... right?
