Version dependencies
by Tom Hanstra 18 Mar '16

Where can I find information about the proper version of Yaz and Zebra that will work well with a given version of Koha? I am attempting to install Koha 22.4 and am not sure if the most recent versions of the support software will work with that. I don't run either Debian or Suse so don't know what versions of Yaz and Zebra would be installed with packages on those OS's. And I have not come across the information in the documentation. Right now, I'm having compilation problems between the Net::Z3950:Z00M module and Yaz when it all gets compiled together and used by Koha: Software error: Can't load '/usr/local/lib64/perl5/auto/Net/Z3950/ZOOM/ZOOM.so' for module Net::Z3950::ZOOM: libyaz.so.5: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory at /usr/share/perl5/XSLoader.pm line 68. at /usr/local/lib64/perl5/Net/Z3950/ZOOM.pm line 10. Compilation failed in require at /usr/local/lib64/perl5/ZOOM.pm line 4. BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at /usr/local/lib64/perl5/ZOOM.pm line 4. Compilation failed in require at /usr/share/koha/lib/C4/Context.pm line 101. BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at /usr/share/koha/lib/C4/Context.pm line 101. Compilation failed in require at /usr/share/koha/intranet/cgi-bin/mainpage.pl line 24. BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at /usr/share/koha/intranet/cgi-bin/mainpage.pl line 24. It could be that I don't have the right version of Yaz when installing/configuring that module. I cannot be sure because I don't know what version I should use, so I just grabbed the latest one. How can I be sure I have the right versions of everything? Thanks, Tom -- *Tom Hanstra* *Sr. Systems Administrator* hanstra(a)nd.edu <http://library.nd.edu/>

Dear Colleagues, Our last ILS would change the status of items from "on order" to "available" when an item was checked in. Turning a MARC field into a URL
by King, Fred 17 Mar '16

17 Mar '16

Hello, all, I'm using Koha 3.20.05 on Ubuntu 14.04. I'm trying to add a new MARC field that's a URL. I've created field 858 in the MARC framework, then added subfields a and b. Under Advanced Constraints in subfield b I checked the box "Is a URL." The description says: Subfield, Text, Constraints a, ORCID, Tab:8, Repeatable, Not mandatory b, ORCID link, Tab:8, Repeatable, Not mandatory, is a URL Under Cataloging preferences, the URLLinkText is blank. The coding for the field in the detail xsl file is this: <xsl:if test="marc:datafield[@tag=858]"> ORCID: <xsl:for-each select="marc:datafield[@tag=858]"> <xsl:call-template name="subfieldSelect"> <xsl:with-param name="codes">ab</xsl:with-param> </xsl:call-template> <xsl:choose> <xsl:when test="position()=last()"> <xsl:text>.</xsl:text> </xsl:when> <xsl:otherwise> <xsl:text>; </xsl:text> </xsl:otherwise> </xsl:choose> </xsl:for-each> </xsl:if> The problem is that when I search for a record containing this field, the text for the b subfield appears, but it isn't a URL-I can see it, but I can't click on it. I tried putting the b subfield in "http://a.web.link.us" format; I didn't think it would work, and it doesn't. Any suggestions as to what I'm doing wrong? I couldn't find an answer in the manual or online.
