Jason, Try on port 2100. Ports below 256 are restricted to root user by Linux. If you really want to use port 210, you'll have to use iptables to forward it. But as I mentionned, try it first with 2100. Considering upgrade to Koha 3.22 AND jessie (debian)

Hello, We are currently operating a .deb package install of koha 3.20 on wheezy. It is a fully operational catalog sans public interface. But we are about to polish the design of the OPAC to release publicly and I would like (if possible) to update the server to jessie and koha to 3.22 (which would also be a package install) before we finish that design. I have a few questions about this process and what kinds of challenges people are running into 1. Does anyone know how soon 3.24 will be released? I am wondering if it is worth it to wait until 3.24 is released as stable and update then. 2. When the update of the server AND koha happens at the same time, for what types of issues should I be on the lookout? I know I will need to do a backup/mysql dump beforehand: https://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/Backing_up_Koha 3. I have been told to ask if we can update koha to 3.22 without updating the server at the same time. What are the pitfalls of this half-update VS a total update of server and koha? Zebraqueue full, no search possible

Hello, I have installed a fresh koha 3,22 on my debian 8. I have imported 3000 MARC entries from a previous koha installation. I have followed the procedure to add thoses entries to the catalog but I can't look for them as a user. So I think It's a problem from Zebra. When I connect to my database, I see that there is my 3000 entries in the table zebraqueue. I'm not totally familiar with Zebra but it seem that the search engine hasn't caught up with what I did. Translating books from excel to marc format

Hi all I am using MarcEditor to translate our existing book collection from Excel to marc ready to import into Koha. I have read lots of instructions on how to add 952 fields so that all existing item data will be carried across, such as barcodes etc. I currently have the 952 fields in different columns in Excel with the headers : 952 \\$a | 952 \\$b | 952 \\$o | 952 \\$p | 952 \\$v | 952 \\$y | The data in these columns is, for example TGGS | TGGS | FIC | 0000220 | 3.50 | BK Would I be right in thinking I need this data to be all in the same column in Excel before trying to translate into marc? If so, would the header be something like 952 \\$a;$b;$o;$p;$v;$y ? If this is right, would I also separate the data in the cells with a semi- colon? eg TGGS;TGGS;FIC;0000220;3.50;BK Sorry for all the questions. It will save me a lot of time, ultimately, if I can migrate our existing book collection across in this way, rather than having to add this data individually, but this is all new to me and I don't want to make any silly mistakes. Thanks for your help!

If you've any queries, just post them here and help will be along presently. Koha can certainly be installed in a hosting environment but it all depends on the type of system (options) you go for. I would recommend going for the self contained VPS/VM solution. That way, you have full control over the box and you can manage your system directly. Hope this helps.
