Koha Plugin System
by Bortel, Gary 08 Feb '17

08 Feb '17

The installation here is Ubuntu 14.04.3 with a multi-tenant package install of Koha 3.20.07... I'm trying to enable the Plugin system using the instructions in the manual (http://manual.koha-community.org/3.20/en/pluginsystem.html) and here (https://github.com/bywatersolutions/koha-plugin-coverflow) - Changed koha-conf.xml <enable_plugins> to 1 - Ensured <pluginsdir> exists and is writeable by the koha user (755) - Restarted both services apache2 and koha-common. - Changed the UseKohaPlugins system preference to Enabled But when I click on the Tool Plugins link under Tools, I get the message... Plugins disabled! To enable Koha plugins, the system preference UseKohaPlugins must be enabled, and the flag enable_plugins must be set in the Koha configuration file Suggestions? gcb ______________________

Debugging Plugins
by Bob Ewart 07 Feb '17

I did get ByWater Solutions kitchensink plugin to loadand run. So I must have it setup properly. I still can't get my DonorApp to load. I was missing some perl modules. They're now installed. I've set the DebugLevel to "lots of". When I do the uploadit comes back to the tools plugin page and does not show it as aplugin. The files are in placein /var/lib/koha/stonewall/plugins/Koha/Bobsown/DonorAppnext to ../ByWaterSolutions/KitchenSink. There are noerror messages. How do I tell it to let me know what's wrong? I'm running Koha 16.05.09 (oldStable) on Debian 8 My running system is Koha 3.22.05 on openSUSE 13.2 Thanks -- Bob

Lukasz - You need access to the server command line in order to reindex. I'm not positive about that command you pasted. My knowledge is more database centered. Perhaps someone else on the list can assist with the reindexing command. joy On Tue, Feb 7, 2017 at 6:56 AM, <lukasz.mesek(a)alingsas.se> wrote: > Hello Joy, > > Unfortunatelly we in the library have no access to database, or I do not > know how to get into it. > All the IT job was done for us by the IT who has a private company. > Do I need deep IT knowledge to do reindexing? > I have found a sequence of reindexing in KOHA manual: > > $ zebraidx -c /etc/koha/zebradb/zebra-biblios.cfg -g iso2709 -d biblios init > > but do not know where to paste it. > > Med vänlig hälsning > Lukasz Mesek > Vuxenbibliotekarie > Alingsås bibliotek > lukasz.mesek(a)alingsas.se > > > -----Joy Nelson <joy(a)bywatersolutions.com> skrev: ----- > Till: lukasz.mesek(a)alingsas.se, Koha <Koha(a)lists.katipo.co.nz> > Från: Joy Nelson <joy(a)bywatersolutions.com> > Datum: 2017-02-06 15:42 > Ärende: Re: Re: [Koha] To hide empty biblio records in OPAC > > Lukasz- > OpacHiddenItems will not help you here. Luis- When you say "When user select the 260a fields" are you talking about cataloging an item or searching for an item? joy On Mon, Feb 6, 2017 at 2:14 PM, Luis Moises Rojas <lmoisesrojas(a)gmail.com> wrote: > Yes, more o less > > The 651a field is the biblioitems.place on the table > But, the 260a i can not find a fields on the table. > > This is 'cos we want to have this: > When user select the 260a fields, that field must be 651a and have to be > saved in the biblioitem, place field on the table > > On Mon, Feb 6, 2017 at 4:07 PM, Joy Nelson <joy(a)bywatersolutions.com> > wrote: > >> If I'm understanding you correctly Luis, you want the value in the 651a >> to be found in the biblio.place field. >> >> You could adjust your Koha keyword mapping and/or frameworks to map the >> 651a to the biblio.place field. >> >> On Mon, Feb 6, 2017 at 2:03 PM, Luis Moises Rojas <lmoisesrojas(a)gmail.com >> > wrote: >> >>> Hi, >>> I want to know the name of this fields on the table. >>> >>> 260a >>> >>> I mean, if you see the fields 651a the name is place on biblioitems >>> table. >>> >>> This is because we want make something like this >>> >>> 260a=651a >>> >>> So when a user select the Place of publication, have to be the geographic >>> name. >>> >>> Any help? >>> >>> -- >>> *Luis Moisés Rojas P.* >>> _______________________________________________ >>> Koha mailing list http://koha-community.org >>> Koha(a)lists.katipo.co.nz >>> https://lists.katipo.co.nz/mailman/listinfo/koha >>> >> >> >> >> -- >> Joy Nelson >> Director of Migrations >> >> ByWater Solutions <http://bywatersolutions.com> >> Support and Consulting for Open Source Software >> Office: Fort Worth, TX >> Phone/Fax (888)900-8944 >> What is Koha? <http://bywatersolutions.com/what-is-koha/> >> >> > > > -- > *Luis Moisés Rojas P.* > > -- Joy Nelson Director of Migrations ByWater Solutions <http://bywatersolutions.com> Support and Consulting for Open Source Software Office: Fort Worth, TX Phone/Fax (888)900-8944 What is Koha? <http://bywatersolutions.com/what-is-koha/>

Need help in correcting migrated database
by Tanzeem M.B 06 Feb '17

06 Feb '17

In my migrated koha system I have got to do many corrections and additions. Some fields got values wrongly and some of the fields got no values. But the source spreadsheet database has got correct values. I was thinking about a method by exporting the biblio, items and biblioitems tables to excel, make corrections/ additions to these excel files, truncate the biblio table which will make a cascaded truncation; import the excel files to the corresponding tables. If I import , in which order of tables should I import to. Run zebra-rebuild again. Will this method work?

Lukasz- OpacHiddenItems will not help you here. That system preference will only work when you have items attached to the bibliographic record and the bibliographic record exists in the system (not deleted). It definitely sounds like you need to reindex your system. Once you have that done, make sure that the indexer is running on the server as well. joy On Mon, Feb 6, 2017 at 3:41 AM, <lukasz.mesek(a)alingsas.se> wrote: > Hello Joy, > > Yes, I've deleted them in staff client and there they still appear, so in > OPAC as well. > In staff client it is just information: The record you requested does not > exist (19653). Email Notices gone crazy
by Jane Chang 05 Feb '17

05 Feb '17

Hi, I'm currently using 16.05.07, and previously using 3.18. I think ever since the new years, the automatic email notices has gone a little crazy. Users have claimed they've returned books, but still receive Due and Overdue notices. Or they receive Due notices way before the actual due date. Don't really know what went wrong, but would like to get some help on this. Thanks! Jane Chang Christian Witness Theological Seminary 1975 Concourse Dr. San Jose, CA 95131 (408)433-2280 x109
