Dear Friends, When we go for koha hosting on VPS, it is preferable to choose KVM based hosting services. For eg. Digital Ocean as suggested by Fred King. KVM based hosting allows you to create your own snapshots and backup. Further, few hosting provider also allows you to mount your own custom iso. In that case, you can host your preferable live dvds in the form of custom iso or your previously configured systems snapshot over there. Usually, the file size limit for custom iso is 2 GB. Nowadays prices of VPS are getting cheaper due to huge competition and from my personal experience I can tell that VPS hiring is highly cost effective as well as convenient. However, make sure that, you choose this option only when you are conversant with the linux system administration part or at least you have a technical expert with you to help over it. Customizing self service to display title

Hi, In the Self Service section of koha the standard procedure is to scan the barcode of the item in order for the item to be issued. We would like to customize it such that when the user scans the barcode of the item to be issued, a popup appears showing the title of the book. We would like to call the koha perl script within koha like opac-detail.pl to get the tittle by passing the barcode as an input. Has anyone done something similar before ? Any help on how to do this will be most welcome. -- Regards, Krishna

Duplicate entry in old_reserves

I got an internal server error while checking out a reserved item to a patron. DBIx::Class::Storage::DBI::_dbh_execute(): Duplicate entry '4515' for key 'PRIMARY' at /usr/share/koha/lib/Koha/Object.pm line 120 I checked in the old_reserves table and found that there was already an entry with a reserve_id of 4515. Does anyone know how this would happen? Circulation-empty barcode-internal server error

16.05.06- Package With the CircAutoPrintQuickSlip syspref set to "clear the screen", hitting enter with an empty barcode field produces an internal server error. Is this a bug? Clint.

Hosting options for Koha installation

Dear Community, I am a librarian from Vienna, Austria and I would like to install Koha for the library of my cultural association. As it is a small association we have no institutional backing and therefore no IT team. I tried to install Koha on the server of my website but I have no root access. I asked at the hosting company and they said they don't offer root access. After some research I found providers offering "root servers" or "managed servers" which are a little costly (about € 30,- a month). It would be great if you could share your experiences on which hosting is best. Specifically my questions are: - Are there any recommended hosting companies and products? It would be best if they were in Austria or Germany but also abroad ist ok. - If I get a root server will I be able to install it only with the Installation instructions? I am proficient with the command line and I already installed and set up Koha on a "virtual machine". - Is there a better/easier way? Your help would be greatly appreciated! Hello all, Chris gave me indications to understand how the translation of the manual will work for 16.11. I don't fully understand how it works. But, right now I'm working on 16.05. The process is different and I want to be able to generate the manual the way we have it in the /html-desktop, /html and /pdf folders (http://translate.koha-community.org/manual/16.05/fr-CA/) I'm sure there is a script somewhere to automate the generation for every langage on pootle. And there is a probably a gitted stylesheet somewhere as well. Does anyone know where all this is ? As soon I have the information, I will update the wiki. I think it help the translator to be able to generate locally the manuel they are translating! Cover image on OPAC full detail screen

Dear all, I'm wondering whether there is a way to stop full bibliographic details wrap around the cover image of the item concerned? I prefer to have blank space underneath the cover image, so bibliographic details are displayed more neatly (ie. like a separate column to the cover image). Alternatively, I'm happy to relocate cover image to underneath "More searches" on the right-side of the catalogue display. How can I achieve this with JQuery? Your assistance is much appreciated.
