Any way to track user logins
by MAKAUTCL WB 06 Jul '17

06 Jul '17

Hello list, I would like to know if there is any way within Koha by which i can track / generate a report of user login (via OPAC) and especially the requests that fail? >From an old post it seems this wasn't possible at least back in 2013. What is the status now? regards MAKAUT Library

Unable to find newly added books by barcode
by Tim Young 05 Jul '17

05 Jul '17

We recently upgraded from 3.x to 17.x. All our old books can be searched for, and found by barcode. But newly added books cannot be found by barcode. Even if I do an advanced search and select barcode, I cannot find the new records. Searching for an old record, for books entered before our upgrade, we can find them by barcode. But, if I am logged in as a librarian, and do an advanced search by author, I can pull up the book. Clicking on the book shows me my holdings, and the correct book along with its barcode is listed. I can click on that particular barcode and see the item. I am hoping that this is just a difference in how things are done from the old to the new, and by checking on the right option we can search by barcode? - Tim Young

by Luigi Ipsa 05 Jul '17

05 Jul '17

Hi, I followed the guide on https://sites.google.com/a/liblime.com/koha-manual/Home/Table-of-Contents/A… https://sites.google.com/a/liblime.com/koha-manual/Home/Table-of-Contents/A… to configure the SIP2 server, but when i start it do not have any warning if it is correctly initialized or not. Files sip_log.out and sip_log.err are empty, try "ps-ef | grep SIP" but there are no processes, by connecting telnet gives me refused connection. There are other logs to be checked? -- View this message in context: http://www.nabble.com/SIP2-Server-not-start%21-tp21852177p21852177.html Sent from the Koha - Discuss mailing list archive at Nabble.com.

batch upload patron images
by schnydszch 30 Jun '17

30 Jun '17

Hi all! Can somebody know the explanation to this error log below when batch uploading patron images in Koha ILS: "AH02429: Response header name ' inflating' contains invalid characters, aborting request, referer: http://localhost:8080/cgi-bin/koha/tools/picture-upload.pl" This seem apache-ish, I am getting Error 500 after the upload, and the error log is above. Tried with bywaters demo and was able to upload the two images in the zip file. Koha version 16.11.09.000, Debian jessie 8, Apache 2.4.10. Thanks in advance and have a nice day! -- View this message in context: http://koha.1045719.n5.nabble.com/batch-upload-patron-images-tp5938950.html Sent from the Koha-general mailing list archive at Nabble.com.

Independent branches
by Elaine Bradtke 29 Jun '17

29 Jun '17

We're looking into adding an independent branch to our instance of Koha (16.11) - a completely separate library with different circulation rules, opening hours and etc. Looking at this in the manual makes me wonder if we're going to run into trouble. Has anyone added an independent branch years after going live? 1.2.4.2. IndependentBranches <http://manual.koha-community.org/16.11/en/administration.html#IndependentBr…> . . . . . Description: - This preference should only be used by library systems which are sharing a single Koha installation among multiple branches but are considered independent organizations, meaning they do not share material or patrons with other branches and do not plan to change that in the future. If set to 'Prevent' it increases the security between library branches by: prohibiting staff users from logging into another branch from within the staff client, filtering out patrons from patron searches who are not a part of the login branch conducting the search, limiting the location choices to the login branch when adding or modifying an item record, preventing users from other branch locations from placing holds or checking out materials from library branches other than their own, and preventing staff from editing item records which belong to other library branches. All of these security safeguards can be overridden only by the superlibrarian, the highest level of privileges. Important It is important that this value be set before going live and that it NOT be changed -- Elaine Bradtke VWML English Folk Dance and Song Society | http://www.efdss.org Cecil Sharp House, 2 Regent's Park Road, London NW1 7AY Tel +44 (0) 20 7485 2206 (This number is for the English Folk Dance and Song Society in London, England.
