Firefox pop up persistance

I did a system upgrade on friday before the end of the day. When I came into work on saturday and turned on our server (we shut it down at night for the time being), whenever I pull up a patron in the system, the "leave a message" box pops up and cannot be saved or cancelled in firefox. I can use koha in chrome with no issues but in firefox it happens every time with every patron. Ubuntu 14.04.5 LTS Koha 17.05.01.000 Not a real issue with our operations but still an issue. configure data retention policies

Hi all, Is there a way in koha to configure how long to keep circulation data, or perhaps to anonymise the data older than x years..? Are there any koha docs on this subject...? Couldn't find any. MJ

Z39.50 encoding problem (tested on 2 koha servers)

Hi again. >From always (3.2 --> 16.11) I could not get the right encoding when searching with Z3950 on other servers. I've tried with all the available encodings (utf8, EUC-KR, ISO_5426, ISO_6937, ISO_8859-1, MARC-8 ) but always have strange characters on results. I alway thought the problem was the other servers that maybe have a strange charset. So, I've installed 2 koha servers *with the same options* then I enabled Z39.50 on one and tested searching with z39.50 with the other one. Hi Krishna, yes, patches were included in 17.01. But as the code of 16.11.x and 17.05 is different in a lot of places by now, the same patches couldn't be used for 16.11.x and needed additional work. Checked out Books showing as Available without anyone doing the checkin - Bug 18651 ?

Hi all, We have been using Koha version 16.11.07.000 . We found a strange problem, for around 35 books. These books have been borrowed(checked out) earlier by the patrons and they have the books with them. But in Koha, the books are available for checkout to others. This results in chaos!! Example - The book Lunch Money(partial title) in Patron Dhyans name This particular book(1 item under the biblio) has different statuses in different screens. 1. Search in OPAC - Shows as Available - this is OK 2. Search as Admin in Staff client - shows status as blank - this seems to be abnormal 3. Search results when searched in Cataloging Search - shows Location as Checked out - this seems to be abnormal 4. In the checkout history of the book, the latest entry shows Patron Dhyan and checked out in the returned date field - this seems to be abnormal 5. In the patron screen, against Dhyan, Checked out books doesnt show this book - OK 6. In the self checkout screen after logging in as Dhyan, I do not see this book in the list of books currently checked out to me. - this is OK. 7. But please note, nobody checked in this book ever. There were other books checked in against Dhyan, but not this book. The book is still with Dhyan and he is unable to checkin this book. But in Koha, this book can be checked out to others!! How to prevent this issue in future ? - We believe this is a symptom of Bug 18651 as there is entry for the book in old_issues table though checkin has not happened. It would be great if someone could confirm on this. By the way, just today, the 17.05.01 version update happened where 18651 is fixed. Then, maybe the issue will not happen in future. If this is not bug 18651, we are keen to know how this can be prevented. What about the 35 books where the data is incorrect ? How do we get it corrected ? Slightly OT: Cataloging Comics

We are going to be carrying comics again. Anyone with experience they'd be willing to share? Comics are very fragile compared to most materials and seem hardly worth the trouble as far as cataloging. Sorting search results - Zebra

Hi, We are using Koha 16.11, and Zebra. We have individual records for different item types - e.g. hardback, paperback, DVD, large print, audiobook etc. A search will return many records with equal ranking, which is correct, as they are all the same title. When records are ranked equally, they are then sorted by bibilonumber in descending order, with the highest biblionumber (newest) displaying in the results first. For example: Result Title Type Copies Rank Biblionumber 1 ABC DVD 4 90% 44567 2 ABC LP 2 90% 34689 3 ABC PBK 63 90% 23456 4 ABC HBK 80 90% 12345 5 CDE DVD 11 64% 44235 6 CDE HBK 43 64% 22132 We would like equally ranked records to be sorted by biblionumber ascending, so the oldest items are shown first. This means our hardback/paperbacks would sit at the top of the search results, as these are purchased before multimedia and large print. Result Title Type Copies Rank Biblionumber 1 ABC HBK 80 90% 12345 2 ABC PBK 63 90% 23456 3 ABC LP 2 90% 34689 4 ABC DVD 4 90% 44567 5 CDE HBK 43 64% 22132 6 CDE DVD 11 64% 44235 Does anyone know if it's possible to achieve this, and how to do so? Text size of staff interface

We just installed 17.5 in our test system, and the staff interface display changed. The text size had been slightly larger than normal and now it's very, very, very small. The text size in the test instance has always been different to our production site but larger wasn't a problem. Now it is painful to read, even on a large screen. This makes looking at the system preferences difficult. Any ideas where I might find the preference to fix this? I tried searching, text, size, and display in the system prefs but no luck. We aren't using any special stylesheets, it's a fairly default installation.
