Problems with 2.0.0pre1

1. addbiblio.pl breaks all my browsers in various ways: - IE5.5, NS6.0, Opera: there is no green background on category rows (010, 020 etc). Also the 'Add biblio' button and 'z3950 search' link extend beyond the window on the right hand side, and force horizontal scrollbars - NS4.7: page is properly centred and green backgrounds are present, however an entire block of MARC fields are repeated 9 times, resulting in a very loooong page. Clicking on +- link generates an even larger page - 900kb, again with all fields repeated many times - IE5.5 'Add biblio' causes IE to report an error on line 1834 - links '0', '1' etc don't go anywhere I've read through Pat's email listing all reported bugs and couldn't find what I'm experiencing. BTW the above mentioned bugs were also present in previous V1.9.X releases. I reinstalled 2.0.0pre1 from scratch just to be sure the problems I'm experiencing weren't caused by all the upgrades I made in the past. I have a standard RH8 install. Am I missing something? Help. 2. There is also a bug in the installation script as it needs to create /usr/local/koha/log/logs directory - otherwise httpd will not start 3. catmaintance.pl doesn't work Thanks for any help you can offer me. Translating KOHA

I'm currently setting up KOHA for the centre for further training at my university and for the staff to be able to feed the database, I have to translate at least parts of the interface to German. What is the recommended way to translate KOHA? Are there any "tools" available? In the mailing list archive I read about a previous effort to translate KOHA to German, but I couldn't find any related packages. Has it been cancelled? -- Christian Hennecke

Problems with 2.0.0rc1

Hi, I've just finished the installation of Koha on a RHL 8.0 server, loaded the sample data and I have the following difficulties: 1) When trying to add a new biblio (without ISBN), I get a screen with with a boxed titled "MARC biblo" with numbers from 1 to 9, hyperlinked to nothing. Cliking on any nuymber or on the Add Biblio button does nothing. I've put the result page at http://www.cdeacf.ca/~simonp/addbiblio.pl.html 2) When trying to add a website, I get a blank page 3) On the MARC search, no fields or subfields are availables, no search are possible... 4) In the Circulation module, I get an error when trying to return a book. I have this in the error log: $branch not defined at /home/httpv/koha/modules/C4/Circulation/Circ2.pm line 841., referer: http://koha.cdeacf.ca/cgi-bin/koha/circ/returns.pl I wonder if the sample_data file is outdated, or if I missed some steps to setup koha properly. Hello, I am a student librarian at an environmental centre at which we have recently installed Koha and are setting up a library. We are interested to know as to how people have gone about 'printing out' the Dewey or classification number for the item, as Koha does not have this function. OverDue Charges

Has anyone installed Koha on a webhosted server? 2. Can the MARC records from the current system (III) be exported to Koha? (I saw something about one-at-a-time uploads, but is there a way to batch these, or do multiple uploads?) 3. If MARC records can be exported to Koha, can the upload program be modified to "overlay" duplicate MARC records? (This is a unique project where we are ordering "replacements" and thus the MARC records are in the system, we would just need to import certain fields to update the current MARC record.) 4. Can Koha be modified? The key example is that the Faculty want to be able to comment on certain books (e.g., "This book is extremely important to our collection," or "This book is worthless, do not order it!") If one uses MARC21, in tag 852, one of the non-prescribed subfields is sometimes used to contain the significant digits of a bar code (in most collections between 4 and 6 at the end of a bar code, excluding the last, which is a check digit). In Athena, which I used in a school library, I believe it was $w. In other systems, I have seen it in 090 and 949 fields (system specified). So we'll all know, can someone from the development end tell us how/where Koha is storing this info? Steven F.
