How do I log into the intranet for the first time?

All and sundry, I've just setup Koha for the first time. My opac system is running ok but when I access the koha (intranet) system I get stuck at the koha login page. In the installation notes it mentions that I should "add some users to the users table in the koha database". I have done this but I still can't log in. Is the password encrypted using md5 hashes or something? Also, the installation notes mention using "AuthenDBI" and "editing your apache conf file" to get the authentication working. I've searched the internet for some help on setting up "AuthenDBI" for apache but I couldn't find anything. Could someone send me an example apache conf that uses the "AuthenDBI" and maybe a related insert statement for the mysql users table? Any help would be very much appreciated. Ben Hall

ADD ITEM PROBLEM

hello, 1. I am using koha v1.2.3. I try to add item using ISBN number.When I try to search the item its working but the item count for that item is 0. So user cannot make a request for the item because it is not reservable. Anybody know what happened? 2. Koha also cannot calculate the overdue charges.I hope somebody can help me. Hello.. I have installed koha v 1.2.3 on windows and successfully run but I still don't undersatand there are so many errors in this file.This are some of the errors.Anybody can explain to me what does it mean and how to solve it? Hello.. Hello, I have installed koha V1.2.3 on windows and successfully run.But I have problem to import 5000 marc record into koha from my old database library system.I would like to test koha using our data.Anybody know how to transfer data using marc record.These are sample data.I need some help.What should I do? Both installs include both a set of sample data and a set of blank data (these aren't perfect - they need some work). Note that you must download and install the Apache Webserver, MySQL database, and Active State Perl as pre-requisites before running these Koha installs, but that download links and full instructions are given at the above mentioned wiki pages. The V1.2.3 is a stable release, but lacks support for MARC. Koha 2.0.0pre2 is a test pre-release, meaning it still has some bugs and features that do not work. It is provided so you can start testing and preparing for a stable V2 release in the near future. I would welcome suggestions for how to improve these Windows install packages for future versions. I would also greatly appreciate if someone could contribute a better set of sample data to include in future installs. Or perhaps someone could clean up and fix up the current set of sample data and then send me a copy. But it's fully usable, and should not be modified a lot until a stable version is released. If your version was a 1.9.x, it should not be ok. SYSTEMPREFS : --------- In systempreferences, add a gist field. Used to calculate gst when ordering, in acquisition module. Enter 0.12 for 12% rate.
