First of all, my data is in MicroLIF format, which is apparently basically USMARC from what I understand. I am using the MARC21 parameters at install time. I looked at the MARC records in Winnebago, and it seems that the "hidden" data is in the 852 field. However, it appears that the only data in that field is the call number and bar code, while the MARC Check requires that I map itemnumber, barcode, homebranch and holdingbranch at a minimum I think (and all within the 852 field). It seems like the import works fine for the biblios and biblioitems. Should I just extract the barcode and call number afterwards and populate the items table separately? If so, should I use the barcode number for the item number, or just start with 1 and go up sequentially? How can I solve this problem so it will be the most useful for others in the long run? Does it make sense to have another import type "MicroLIF", or "Winnebago"? Thanks in advance for any ideas. I have included a small piece of my data again, in case it is useful. But it's fully usable, and should not be modified a lot until a stable version is released. DB modifications : --------- None, but check that your systempreferences table is : CREATE TABLE systempreferences ( variable varchar(50) NOT NULL default '', value varchar(200) default NULL, explanation varchar(200) NOT NULL default '', options text, type varchar(20) default NULL, PRIMARY KEY (variable) ) PACK_KEYS=1; If you installed a 2.0.0pre1 from scratch, it should be ok. If your version was a 1.9.x, it should not be ok. SYSTEMPREFS : --------- In systempreferences, add a gist field. Used to calculate gst when ordering, in acquisition module. Enter 0.12 for 12% rate. IMPROVMENTS : --------- * checkmarc.pl : added a check on fields mapped to item marc tag (by Paul). * overdue books backported from 1.2.x (& templated) (by Chris) * some additionals check to verify a borrower can borrow a book (by Esiee) * MARC search (in intranet) : - dramaticaly improving the speed of a MARC search in case of a A OR B search (by Paul) - Users can search using more than 3 criterias (criterias are now added dynamically) (by Esiee) - Results can be displayed using 20,50 or 100 results per page. Hello, I have installed koha V1.2.3 on windows and successfully run.But I have problem to import 5000 marc record into koha from my old database library system.I would like to test koha using our data.Anybody know how to transfer data using marc record.These are sample data.I need some help.What should I do? Hi everyone the fines2.pl now is working properly with me , but the way it calculates the fines is strange for me . it just calculate the fines at two dates the first one is caled first reminder the second one is called second notice , if the borrower returned the book between these dates the fines will be the fine for the first reminder only . Hello everyone, With a 2.0.0 release rapidly approaching, and a bunch of bugs needing to be found, reported, prioritized, and fixed, we're going to institute a weekly irc meeting to help handle the load. We'll meet every Wednesday at 1800 UTC in the #koha channel at irc.katipo.co.nz -- Anyone is welcome to attend, please bring your bug reports. We're making this change to help make the meeting more accessible to Paul (the 2.0 release manager), and our other European developers. hello, I am working on setting up 2.0.0pre1. It installs fine and I am using the bulkmarcimport.pl script to import ~8,000 biblios in USMARC format from our old Winnebago system. So far so good. They seem to import fine. I can query the database and see the data. Now I seem to have 8,000 biblios, but no items. It seems that a biblio is a description of a possible book, but I actually need some items in my catalog to be able to check them in and out. Is this correct. Can someone give a brief explanation of the difference between a biblio, biblioitem, and item in the database and give me an idea of how I can actually convert those 8,000 biblios to books?
