Hmm it sounds like y'all are talking about two different things. you are talking about net::z3950, he's talking about net::z3950::zoom. you probably could use zoom, I don't know. But the install document says Net::z3950 so thats what I went with. Your error and set up sounds a lot like one I experienced, so I will tell you in (hopefully specific) steps what I did to make it work. First, I went to the a website (I didn't write down which one, eek. So, lets say I found it on cpan somewhere) and downloaded the net::z3950 module as an archive(tar.gz). I used version 0.50. Then I unpacked it. Then I opened Makefile.PL using a text editor. I don't remember which one. (They always say you should use vi editor, but its so tricky. I never know if its saved or not.) Anyways I commented out the last three lines, like this: sub MY::postamble { '$(MYEXTLIB): yazwrap/Makefile cd yazwrap && $(MAKE) INC=$(PASTHRU_INC) $(PASTHRU)'; } #sub MY::post_constants { # 'PASTHRU_INC=$(INC)' #} Then saved it (if using vi, make sure you press esc and :wq, not :q as I am prone to do :) Then I double checked it, to make sure it saved, and then I was able to install it using perl Makefile.PL make make install and lo and behold I got my z3950 to work. I don't know if that will work for you, especially since I don't understand why I got that error in the first place. But, I figure it can't hurt to try. Good luck and let me know if it works. -Heidi

Starting z39.50

Hi, This is my first post to the list. I'm impressed by all the work that's gone into Koha, but I now have a problem and can't find the answer in the documentation nor on the mailing list archive. I'm guessing it's my lack of techie knowledge... My library recently installed Koha 2.2.5 on Debian, but I can't get the z39.50 function to work. When I try to Add Biblio as instructed in the Koha 2.2 Users Guide, I get the message "Still ?? records to go" over and over. According to the manual, this means I haven't started the z39.50 daemon. I've tried starting the z39.50 daemon by running the script z3950-daemon-launch.sh from the command line, but it aborts with the error message "line 17: no such file or directory" (apparently it can't find z3950-daemon-options). I noticed that the script z3950-daemon-launch.sh should actually be run during system startup from something called rc.local, but I don't know how to do this. Will the z3950 daemon launch script only work if run from a system startup file? Viewing reserved books in koha

Is there a way I can view all reserves in koha? Right now, I only see that a book is reserved when i go to issue it in koha or when I go to the member details. is there a way in which I can get a list of all reserves? Thanks, Venita.

http://www.cpan.org/modules/by-module/ when perl -MCPAN just isn't get'n it done. Also...update on the VirtualMachine... Install done... I flip-flopped port 80 and 8080 to my personal preference. 80 == Intranet and 8080 == OPAC Now I have to figure out how to make the machine distributable... It works until I clone it and run it in VMPlayer...then it doesn't fetch it's IP address as it should...*ponders*...back to the drawing board. *OPEN TO IDEAS!!! ;) * and it seems with no book info in the database(as I left it 100% unconfigured other than a username and passwd for the Koha database) OPAC is unhappy..and doesn't even load a page. If this is an error let me know and I'll attempt to rectify. koha admin: librarian koha admin: kohalibrarian

I've installed Koha 2.2.5 on Ubuntu server 6.06 Many people have had trouble with installing on this operating system and I couldn't find many documents on the web concerning koha on ubuntu. many greetings, my university now implementing Koha for it's library, i tried the windows version and it works fine. But we need to implements it on GNU/Linux OS.So my choise was Ubuntu 6.06 LTS. But i can't further go. I can't install and use it. the perl modules makes problem or if you know an integrated perl module like "Activeperl x.x.x" for MS-windows please let me know it. other wise please I need information about wether koha is working on Ubuntu or not.Please if not tou can recommend another one. --------------------------------- Get your email and more, right on the new Yahoo.com

Adding new MARC tag Thesaurus Structure

Dear all, Imagine I want catalog books and save, for each, it's Theme and a Group (these have a restricted set of values we want to be inserted). .I thought about creating two categories in Thesaurus Structure <http://librarian.testes.udp.eurotux.com/cgi-bin/koha/admin/authtypes.pl> named Theme and Group and add for them their autorised values. But, how do I make these new fields visible when adding a MARC and where, in the DB will these values be really stored? Do I have to make links DB-MARC , create new MARC tag... help needed!! Thank you
