I extracted the raw data from it in order to figure out the best way of importing it into KOHA and to develop a procedure that would give best results with least effort. After success, I allowed my colleagues to test KOHA, however the biblio and items databases were already outdated. New biblios and items are in Aleph, I can extract them and make them KOHA-importable. I use a Polish fork developed by Wojciech Zatorski. He is developing an "university library" version, I work in a public library, so it`s not the best fit, but still better than "mainstream" KOHA. Not my case again :) I have biblios with items with Koha, just need to attach more items to those biblios: read record from file -> look at ISBN in subfield 020a, search biblioitems for matching isbn -> if found, import field 952 only with biblionumber and biblioitemnumber of the found record. If not found, import all fields as a new biblio/biblioitem/item. I know it would create duplicate biblios, but less than importing everything as complete records. Hi everyone, I have set up Koha for testing, however the database I have imported is four months old. My colleagues complain about it and want me to add new records from other library software for more thorough testing. I could re-import the whole database, however it`s not a good solution in the long run - we have another ILS that has to stay for a while, all cataloging is done in that ILS and it has to stay that way for a year or so. I can prepare a batch of new records for importing into Koha, however don`t know if the bulkmarcimport script could do the job the way I`d like: - reject biblios that already are in the DB and import item-specific fields only, connecting them to existing biblios; - import biblios that are not in the DB, along with items. In other words: I need to perform many partial imports and avoid biblio and item duplicates. Has anyone tried something like that? Is there any way to do it? Thanks for anyhelp! Regards, Tomasz.

Error in installing KOHA3 on FC6

Hello List, I have installed successfully koha3 on fc6 with great difficulty, but not able to run koha through browser.it shows a blank page. Actually I want to make some additional reports in koha. For example I want to have a report of Biblio records between two limits of barcode numbers. Now the query for this report is as under: SELECT items.barcode, biblio.title, biblio.author, biblio.copyrightdate, items.price FROM items, biblio WHERE items.biblionumber=biblio.biblionumber AND CAST(items.barcode AS UNSIGNED) BETWEEN 1 AND 10000 ORDER BY CAST(items.barcode AS UNSIGNED); Can someone guide me how to create .pl and .tmpl file for this query. I am using koha 2.2.9 on windows xp..and When i click on parametrs->authorised value then cilck on add authorities value and aslo input data but no data is adding.....and there is New catagory option if i also add some data here no data is added...how can i solve that..please help me And i am taking help from that page"http://www.kohadocs.org/usersguide/ch01s03.html" but 3.2 option is not working....which is "Authorised Values" So please help me....
