importing items through csv to marc problem

Hello Galen, Thank you for your assistance, I am using koha-3.0 I have attached both modefied csv2marc perl script and my csv file. Here both homebrach and holdingbranch are same but it can be different and to import we need to modify both's data type length. Publishercode is just publisher name. 1st we need to create out.dat file and then we need to use koha utility bulkmarcimport.pl to import into koha. Regards, Sujit.

Translation problems ...

We are currently translating Koha 3.0 into Norwegian. We are nearly finished, but there are a couple of things that we are not able to solve: When searching for a patron in Staff, a table is shown with (among other things) a heading "OD/issues". What does OD mean???? Another problem that we have is the list of patron types. When creating a new patron there is a pull down menue which shows you some options. What is a "Professional Patron". It is evidently different from Staff and Organisation, but we just can't figure it out. I hope someone out there can help us! Librarian Privileges

Hi, How does one tie a librarians user ID to a specific library within Koha? As it stands, if I create a librarian ID, they can choose which library they want to manage. However, is there a way to tie the ID to a specific library such that they have access to the patrons and books within that library only? Thank you. RFC for 3.2: Move items data from 952 to 949 by default

Hi folks, It's recently come to my attention that many ILSes store their items data in a 949 tag by default. Thusfar, we've stuck with the historical convention of 952 (which was our version of a 'localized' 852). 852, in the MARC21 standard, is reserved for 'holdings' data (holdings data is separate from items data, and there will be a future RFC addressing how Koha should handle holdings data). As Koha popularity expands, we should consider switching to the 'de facto' standard for items data (949). The need was brought to my attention recently on an OCLC list where it was discovered that OCLC uses 952 for internal codes, and therefore, it can't be exported. So libraries using OCLC for cataloging, who want to manually add their items data to their records, download them from OCLC, and them upload into Koha, will have to use another tag for items data. I'm thinking this would primarily consist of: 1. updating the default frameworks for MARC21 (UNIMARC too?) 2. updating the XSL stylesheets for MARC21 3. creating a script that moves stuff from 952 into 949 Thoughts? importing items through csv to marc problem

Hi All, I got a perl script at: http://lists.katipo.co.nz/public/koha/2007-November/012750.html it is used to import biblio details from csv format to koha through marc. after some modification it starrted working for me *with a* *serious problem *. I am able to import biblio and biblioitems details but items details are duplicating. as per now in mapping i used only barcode , homebranch,holdingbranch from item table, so it is dublicating three times with each field in a different row. but actually it should come in a single row. can any body help me out. z3950 internal server error

Dear Friends, I write regarding my z3950 problem. We installed Koha 2.2.9 in Fedora Core 4. I configured Z39.50 Server with LOC. While try to search LOC using z3950 it opens the window showing the default server (LOC). And shows the following error message when click on “Search Internet” button, “Internal Server Error The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.” Can you help me solve this problem, Vimal Kumar Asst.
