Hi, As a reminder, the Koha developers will be holding a meeting on the #koha IRC channel on 12 September 2008 at 19:00 UTC. The agenda is: 1. Confirm the release manager, translation manager, and documentation manager for Koha 3.2. Each of these positions has one candidate at present: Release Manager: Galen Charlton, LibLime Translation Manager: Chris Cormack, Catalyst Documentation Manager: Nicole Engard, LibLime, 2. Decide on the release maintainer for Koha 3.0 The two candidates are currently Joshua Ferraro (LibLime) and Henri-Damien Laurent (BibLibre). 3. Discuss whether the position of Kaitiaki should be filled. 4. Discuss options for filling the position of QA manager for 3.2. 5. Discuss the features planned for Koha 3.2. All Koha users, developers, and other interested parties are welcome to attend. The meeting will be logged, and I will also send a summary to the koha and koha-devel mailing lists. problem with authority

Hi there, I am trying to import MARC authority records using the bulkauthimport script and am not having any luck. I'm running 2.2.9. I've defined authority types and only attempted to import a small number of one type. I am seeing the following in the script, which makes it seem that Koha wants UNIMARC authority records as these codes correspond to byte 9 (I think) in a UNIMARC authority. $authtypecode="NP" if ($authtypecode eq 'a'); # personnes $authtypecode="CO" if ($authtypecode eq 'b'); # collectivités $authtypecode="NG" if ($authtypecode eq 'c'); # géographique $authtypecode="NM" if ($authtypecode eq 'd'); # marque $authtypecode="NF" if ($authtypecode eq 'e'); # famille $authtypecode="TI" if ($authtypecode eq 'f'); # Titre uniforme $authtypecode="TI" if ($authtypecode eq 'h'); # auteur/titre $authtypecode="MM" if ($authtypecode eq 'j'); # mot matière I have no problem manually adding authorities, but would I'd much rather import, of course. The ones showing are the ones for the library you're logged in as - if you log in as a staff member at a different library then you'll see those budgets instead. --- Nicole C. Importing Patrons: Cannot parse UTF8 characters in csv-file

Dear all, Is there a way to import UTF8-encoded csv-files containing characters beyond the ascii-rage, i.e. umlauts, diacritcs, or asian characters? At the first problematic character in a file, I get the following error analysis: Line 3 could not be parsed! 5,20080006,Möller,firstname,title,...... In this example the "ö" causes the error. Funds and budgets

Another question from a new user with no Linnux programmer or the original installer. Are funds and budgets only tied to the library that is set when the system is installed? Renewals in 3.0

Libraries, funds and budgets

All: I am a new Koha user. I am using 3.00. My Koha was installed last week but the person who installed has left the library and I do not have a Linnux programmer on staff at this time. We are only using Acquisitions as we make plans to migrate the rest of the system. Our ILS system as of now is Voyager. We have not used Voyager Acquisitions. Last year we use a program called OSA. My problem is the Library Director wants the budget to be leveled much like Voyager. He wants Library, then Schools, then Types of Material. He also has some funds that are not part of the general library budget to display on the main acquisitions page. In general the budget would look as follows: Library Total amount of expenditures School Total for the School Books Serials Electronic Resources Is there a way to do this in Koha without a major rewrite of Acquisitions.
