Dear All We are having problems downloading records from library of congress. We suspect that it may be due to the speed of our internet connection. Has anyone else experienced this problem? speeding things up--barcoding our collection

At long last my library is starting to barcode our collection. A little background: Most of the catalog already consists of marc records in the state union catalog. The Dept. of Libraries has kindly loaded these records on a disk and sent them off to be loaded into Koha. Our collection is not barcoded (we are still a manual circulation library) and our task is to stick a barcode in every book and link that barcode to the record. We will also be tossing records that don't match any physical objects and adding records for items that need one. The problem: I'm trying to think of a way to avoid having to do a search to bring up each record. We'll be adding the majority of the records in shelf-list order and it would save a lot of time to be able to work in a table in the same order. Scan in the barcode, add the call number info, take care of a couple of other details, save the record. Has anyone else faced this problem? What solutions have you found? Still not finding documents

So, we've now got the database mirrored on a machine for public use outside the firewall. I have a production database that I edit all day long. Then those changes are copied over to the public machine. I can see both machines and search on both machines. Here's the difficulty. The records that I have not been able to locate on the production machine are visible and searchable on the public machine. Looking at the database on the production machine, the records are there. So, the question remains, why can I not pull them up on the production machine? We have run zebra indexing with the exact same flags on both machines. I am still not retrieving records on both. HM. Follett to Koha 3 Migration

Good Morning All Hope all is well with everyone. I have Koha install on Ubuntu 8.10 (thanks to a pointer from Rob Weir to great directions by Andy Giesler). I now need to export data from our current Follett system into Koha for our librarians to play with and see if they like it. Has anyone done this yet and if so do you have a "How To" instructions.
