Frances, What Marc flavor do you use, Marc21? To me this looks you have some records that in a different flavor (Unimarc?). On the those bad records, you should see an 'undo import' link, that should remove them from the database. Hi, Does anyone know what this error message means? I have been getting it when i have unsuccessfully downloaded a record that has been imported but unable to stage it or retrieve it in KOHA. I also get this message sometimes for no apparent reason. For example : I type in Geology as a Subject Keyword or or click on the subject link Geology in the record and it comes up with the above error message. I can click on another subject and it brings up all the associated records successfully. Also all the records that i have unsuccessfully staged are listed in the "Manage Staged Marc Records". How do I delete these? Serials Module on v3 VMWare image
by Thomas Sycko 31 Mar '09

31 Mar '09

Hello, All, I've just recently dug into the Koha system and I am very impressed with what I've seen. It's great to see what a group of dedicated programmers can do. I loaded up the VMWare image over the weekend, and for the most part I've had no problems. It's a great way to try out the system. But I have been unable to use the Serials module at all. I am able to load up the new subscription screen, but nothing seems to happen once it's there: I can neither look up nor create bib records, and after filling in the fields, when I click on any of the buttons at the bottom of the screen, nothing happens. Are there any know problems with that module on the VMWare image? Also, my browser (IE 7) is loading all of the pages, but there is a message at the bottom indicated that the page has loaded 'but with errors.' Is that normal? Again, I am quite a newbie to Koha, so I appreciate your patience if my questions seem quite simple. I have tried looking the message archives and see nothing about these topics. Many thanks to all of you. Tom

zebraserver does not seem to be running?
by Marty 30 Mar '09

When I give the command zebrasrv -f /etc/koha/koha-conf-xml, it seems to start fine. but it never returns me to the command prompt, and looking thru the system there does not seem to be any zebra running (pardon the pun). There does not seem to be any logfile either. Any ideas? Thanks to Mason James I got the zebra running, but alas, it does not make any difference, I still get 'no results found' on any search I do. The only error in the opac log is attached below. How do you create the filter? Thanks! Ed Edward J. Roche Network Administrator Solanco School District 717.786.2151 x2437 "At the End of the Day, Did You Play to Win or Not to Lose?" -----Original Message----- From: Michael Hafen [mailto:mdhafen@tech.washk12.org] Sent: Friday, March 27, 2009 11:29 AM To: Roche III, Edward Cc: koha-devel(a)lists.koha.org Subject: Re: [Koha-devel] [Koha] Barcode Don't Found I have in my libraries several copies with a "T " before the number part of the barcode. Koha works with it fine. I find the trick is to make sure what's in the Koha database and what's encoded in the barcode are the same. It is possible with itemInputBarcodeFilter processing. I've used that sys. pref. to strip leading spaces ( which I put in ) from some barcodes. If what you want is to be able to enter just the number, or the "T " and the number ( like from a barcode scanner ), then I think making a custom itemInputBarcodeFilter ( like I did to trim leading spaces ) would be a good solution. bulkmarcimport.pl for MICROLIF.001 from Follett
by ISM KIS 30 Mar '09

30 Mar '09

I did convert the Follett file with the script given by Doug (Thanks) So I got the file ML.mrc (see attachment) But when I run the bulkmarcimport.pl this is the error I get: linux-teck:/usr/share/koha/bin/migration_tools # perl bulkmarcimport.pl -v 2 -c MARC21 -file /usr/share/koha/bin/migrationtools/ML.mrc -d deleting biblios Characteristic MARC flavour: UNIMARC .substr outside of string at /usr/share/koha/lib/C4/Charset.pm line 241, <GEN10> line 1. linux-teck:/usr/share/koha/bin/migration_tools # If I run the command with -s then the test is all ok and it says 16 records are processed. I'm probably just confused with UNIMARC and MARC21 Here is my question: 1) How do I know whether my file ML.mrc is UNIMARC or MARC21 ? 2) How do I know whether my Koha is running UNIMARC or MARC21 ? (Stupid question, yes, I did setup the system, but how can I check now?) Thanks for any help. Rudy Wuthrich Kodaikanal International School
