Good Morning All I am able to use zebra to import and reindex may Biblios but when it gets to the end of the rebuild it say: ==================== REINDEXING zebra ==================== 23:06:14-01/04 zebraidx(5173) [log] zebra_start /etc/koha/zebradb/zebra-biblios.cfg 1.3.50 23:06:14-01/04 zebraidx(5173) [warn] Cannot open `/etc/koha/zebradb/zebra-biblios.cfg' [No such file or directory] 23:06:14-01/04 zebraidx(5173) [fatal] Cannot read config /etc/koha/zebradb/zebra-biblios.cfg 23:06:14-01/04 zebraidx(5174) [log] zebra_start /etc/koha/zebradb/zebra-biblios.cfg 1.3.50 23:06:14-01/04 zebraidx(5174) [warn] Cannot open `/etc/koha/zebradb/zebra-biblios.cfg' [No such file or directory] 23:06:14-01/04 zebraidx(5174) [fatal] Cannot read config /etc/koha/zebradb/zebra-biblios.cfg ==================== CLEANING I checked out the Install.debian file that comes with Koha and followed the steps to setup Zebra but it seems like I am missing a step somewhere when it comes to the Zabra DB and Config. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks Ed Edward J. Roche Network Administrator Solanco School District 717.786.2151 x2437 "At the End of the Day, Did You Play to Win or Not to Lose?"

Using Koha 3.0.0 on Linux: WE have a failed password problem because of too many wrong attempts (by a friend using text editor!) We have logged in a super user and used the following command as instructed: $ cat /etc/koha-conf.xml and received lots of feedback. I think this is the relevant extract. I think it shows that our password is okay (nyatwa - Chichewa for fantastic) and I think the problem is NOT that we have forgotten our password, BUT that we have too many failed attempts - courtesy of our know it all friend. </server> <serverinfo id="authorityserver"> <ccl2rpn>/etc/koha/zebradb/ccl.properties</ccl2rpn> <user>kohadbuser</user> <password>nyatwa</password> </serverinfo> <config> <db_scheme>mysql</db_scheme> <database>kohadb</database> <hostname>localhost</hostname> <port>3306</port> <user>kohadbuser</user> <pass>nyatwa</pass> We are also a bit unsure of steps to configure IP addresses in Apache??? Once again, thanks heaps for any and all help, Carmel Young Catholic University Limbe Malawi

Which labels do you use?
by Eric Bégin 02 Apr '09

02 Apr '09

Hi, Sorry for this off-topic question but I'm looking for suggestion about the labels you are using in your libraries. I would like to print both call number and barcode. I though that it may be possible to print both at once if there is some labels in the following format: __________ ______________________________ | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | |__________|______________________________| Sorry for the ascii art :) So this would be 2 different labels, side by side on the same sheet. This format would be very convenient to handle. Do you know any providers for this type of labels? Otherwise, I'll be happy to know what is your process to print those labels without confusion. Thanks, Eric

Conversion problem Marc21
by Hendrix, Harry 02 Apr '09

02 Apr '09

Hi, We have a small library with ±15.000 books. At the moment we are using Olib 7.6. We have also installed Koha 3.0 and we are trying to import MARC21 records from Olib into Koha. Appendix sze_test.mrc contains the data of one exported record (book). Appendix sze_test.mrc.txt is the same file converted to text. We convert the file sze_test.mrc with MarcEdit because Koha expects data in 952 field i.s.o. 852 field to sze_test_compiled.mrc. Field "852 a" swapped to "952 a", f to f, j to j and t to p. We also add field 952 b for the branch code. This file is imported into Koha as you can see in appendices koha_normal,png, koha_marc.png and koha_items.png. The problem is that there are no items found in Koha. How can we fix this problem? Has anybody experience with converting Olib to Koha Kind regards, Harry ________________________________ The information contained in this message may be confidential and legally protected under applicable law. MARC record Importing problems with Academic Staff Demo
by Repke de Vries 01 Apr '09

01 Apr '09

Hi all, we are trying pre-evaluation of Koha functionalities by doing some tests with the LibLime demo installation at http://academic- staff.demo.kohalibrary.com/ and find that even though "Stage MARC records for Import" works fine, the next step "Manage Staged MARC records" consistently fails with this message getting displayed "There are no records in this batch to import" and that's it: no further hints why. Even records imported by someone a longer time ago [like batch number 33 ( http://academic-staff.demo.kohalibrary.com/cgi-bin/koha/ tools/manage-marc-import.pl?offset=50 )] and after exporting back to to MARC again, now fail to import with this same error message. Anybody an idea what's going on ? The demo server idea is problematic of-course with any global settings that people are changing all the time but wouldn't the Import at least always import any 2709 MARC record(s) ? If there would be any demands on the MARC records - like Koha cannot import MARC holdings records or cannot import anything MARC related to serials information but only imports biblio records - where can we find the authoritative KOHA documentation on this ? The excellent Koha 3 Manual Site does not cover this aspect at any length and searching the mailing lists and other sources only gives bits and pieces or info / instructions that could be outdated. Even if the advice is: "install your own Koha for testing" - any help appreciated ! Repke de Vries and team at the International Institute for Social History ( http://www.iisg.nl )

Koha 3 no results found, trapped fatal error
by Marty 01 Apr '09

After installing Koha 3 once more and following the upgrade from Koha 2.2 to Koha 3.0 guide on wiki, I still cannot search. I can get an item when I do a Z3950 search, but when I save it, I get: production mode - trapped fatal error. I believe zebrasrv is running: debian: ps -ef|grep zebrasrv root 3142 1 0 13:14 ? 00:00:00 zebrasrv -D -f /etc/koha/koha-conf.xml root 3197 3126 0 13:33 pts/1 00:00:00 grep zebrasrv I do not see any errors in the koha logs I had some errors when installing, see below. Don't know if any of these matter. I have no clue where to go from here. I find it quite a disaster, to be honest. 2.2.9 still works wonderful... Hi, there. Still having problems trying to reset the databaseuser password. We have authentication denied because of too many failed attempts. We tried your suggestion: Try checking /etc/koha/koha-conf.xml. Find following section. We got stuck here: Access denied/ .... <config> <db_scheme>mysql</db_scheme> <database>koha</database> <hostname>localhost</hostname> <port>3306</port> <user>kohaadmin</user> <pass>kohaadmin</pass> > ....
