Zebra stops searching after a crash
by Chadwick, John, DCA 26 Mar '09

26 Mar '09

We are getting ready to go into production and one of the Mac Minis that we have been testing on decided to crash today. After rebooting the server, searching with Zebra turned off works. Turning Zebra on and searching fails. Zebra was turned on prior to the crash and the searching worked great. I have tried the drop option in zebraidx and dropped the database biblios in an attempt to start clean, still no joy. I have run the rebuild zebra script numerous times and everything seems to be indexing, but we still can't search. Any ideas? Searching Imported Records
by Eric Bégin 26 Mar '09

Hi, Is there a easy way to retrieve imported records based on the notes we set during the Stage Marc Record? If this impossible, what is your process to enter the items for all of those imported records? Thanks, Eric

KOHA 3 ON WINDOWS
by PETERSON, SCOTT 26 Mar '09

26 Mar '09

Hello, If I am directing this to the wrong place, please let me know. My school district is looking at installing Koha 3 on Windows. I’m using Strawberry Perl as outlined in the Wiki docs, but have one question (I believe it’s for Chris Nighswonger). Under the section on installing Net::Z3950::ZOOM, it says: Modified ZOOM Makefile.PL for use on Win32 (see attached Makefile.PL) Do you have this modified Makefile.PL? If so, can I get a copy of it? I don’t see a link to it on the site. Label printing - it take too much time and Koha 3.00.01 stable crashes
by Ata ur Rehman 26 Mar '09

26 Mar '09

Dear All I've installed koha 3.00.01 stable version on Debian 4.0 r7 Etch on an i386 p4 machine. Everything is running fine. But when I try to print the labels and barcodes from any template at /cgi-bin/koha/labels/label-home.pl, when I try to add items in some batch at /cgi-bin/koha/labels/label-item-search.pl?batch_id=1&type=labels the system does not respond for a long long time and my Koha system also crashed during this process. I've tried this on a couple of machines but the error is same. Can someone help me to fix this issue? The same problem is with my another friend. Ata ur Rehman Islamabad, Pakistan

deleted biblio table
by Nijnatten, Jan van 25 Mar '09

25 Mar '09

Hi all, We are running Koha in a test environment and importing MARC21 records. Because something went wrong we deleted the MYSQL biblio table to remove the imported records. But when we search in the koha interface we still find them; the database is empty for sure. We checked like 10 times. I have read that Koha has a dual database approach: text-based and RDBMS ... is there also a text-based copy of the database? Does anyone have a clue why we still find records while the database is empty and if yes, how can we resolve this one? Good Afternoon, A customer of ours is looking at implementing KOHA. However, as far as I can see, EDI has not been implemented yet. Is there any other form of electronic or automated ordering available in KOHA? Is there a timeframe as to when EDI would be implemented? Post Import of field update issue
by Roche III, Edward 25 Mar '09

25 Mar '09

Good Morning All I am writing to both groups because I am not sure which one would be the best option for this problem. I have to do a mass update of our barcode field to match up what our barcodes actually are as opposed to what Follett spits out in its export. Before I do the field update I can check out books with no problem with the current barcode format. After I do the update, when I enter the barcode to checkout for the student and hit Checkout then it automatically sends me back to the Circulation - Checkout page and never assigns the book to the patron. Here are the steps I do when updating the field: * Export data to a tab delimited file (itemnumber and barcode) * Open file in Excel and fix the barcode field (From T0012345 to T 12345) * Save as file again as Tab Delimited * Go to WebMin in the browser and create a temp table to hold the updated info * Import the data to the temp table with no issues * Run the following SQL expression to update the barcode field in the items table with the data that is in the temp table linked by itemnumber o update items a inner join temp b on a.itemnumber = b.itemnumber set a.barcode = b.barcode * Everything copies over, I spot check a couple records to make sure no issues. * I run the following script from terminal o perl /usr/share/koha/bin/maintenance/sync_items_in_marc_bib.pl --run-update * Then run: o perl /usr/share/koha/bin/migration_tools/rebuild_nozebra.pl * I go into Koha and test the checkout function (see Checkout Image Attachment) and I get the Circulation - Checkout page (see Circulation-Checkout Attachment) Should I be doing this update a different way????
