Hi folks, I seem to have a small problem with advance notifications (Am running Koha 3.2). The recipients are just receiving a notification without listing the items. It looks like this: Dear.XXXXXX, The following items will be due soon: <<items.content>> Items are not listed. What could be wrong here? Thank you.

Hello all I am the Circulation Services Librarian at Paraparaumu Public Library. We have been using Koha since 2006. I am delving into the dark arts of SQL and hope to occasionally draw on the collective knowledge out there...and, of course, contribute -whenever possible. Re: [Koha] Input Chinese in Koha
by Marc Nürnberger 20 Oct '09

20 Oct '09

Dear Tony, Chinese input is no problem for koha. Make sure everything in your system (incl. MySql&Apache) is set to UTF-8 encoding. The tricky part starts with the zebra indexing, if you are aiming for character substitutions in your searches (modern vs. traditional and other variants, etc). Best, Marc

Hello, List, I'm the regional librarian for Southwestern College, a proprietary school with 6 branches. We are brand new users of Koha Express. Right now I am struggling with migrating our records from a program called LiBRARYSOFT. I think we will ultimately be successful, however; there are some things (MARCedit) I haven't tried yet. I look forward to being a member of this group. Help with item types in OPAC display
by Eva Radding 20 Oct '09

20 Oct '09

Hello all, Our library is new to Koha. We are migrating our bib records from a non-MARC format, and many of our titles are original cataloging in AV formats. In order to have our item types display correctly in the OPAC, we have to create leader/007/008 fields that map to the appropriate OPAC icons. Can someone suggest the proper way to code for these formats? archival videotape (actually several types, including DVcam, miniDV, and beta, but they could all appear the same way) VHS DVD poster slides kit audio CD periodical Thank you very much for your help. zebra indexer crashing - *** stack smashing detected ***: zebraidx terminated
by "Γιάννης Κουρμούλη ς (Giannis Kourmoulis)" 20 Oct '09

Dear list After several problems with the import of records to our freshly installed koha system, we are stuck to the following point: Using the intranet web interface (staging - managing staged records) we managed to import a large file (100000 bib records with item information embedded - exported from a dynix horizon 7.3 system). When we try to reindex (./koha-3.00.03/misc/migration_tools/rebuild_zebra.pl -b -r -v) we get the following results (see below). Any ideas on what might cause this crashing of the zebra indexer? thank you [...] 12:40:11-20/10 zebraidx(17016) [log] Records: 94000 i/u/d 94000/0/0 12:40:18-20/10 zebraidx(17016) [log] Records:
