by Marius ADAHA 22 Oct '09

I'm from Benin at Songhai Center library. Currently we installed Koha 3.00.02.012 on Ubuntu 8.04 LTS. I was successful using the manuals for installation. But when the librarians are adding or editing an item in to the database, it will show us: "Koha error The following fatal error has occurred: Can't call method "append_fields" on an undefined value at /usr/local/share/perl/5.8.8/MARC/File/SAX.pm line 92. Koha 3.00.04 search problem
by PMCook 22 Oct '09

22 Oct '09

I downloaded and installed the 3.00.04 package on my test system. The first issue I have found is with searches. Using the NoZebra option, all searches will return the proper record counts in the summary but the display will only show one record. Needless to say this is a real problem. -- View this message in context: http://www.nabble.com/Koha-3.00.04-search-problem-tp26000984p26000984.html Sent from the Koha - Discuss mailing list archive at Nabble.com.

biblios/record.abs
by Marcel de Rooy 22 Oct '09

22 Oct '09

Hi all, If you use MARC21 and your /etc/koha/zebradb/marc_defs/marc21/biblios/record.abs still contains the following lines, you will not find records with corporative author in 710 via authority search. Why not? The line with 710$9 should be before the default line melm 710. Please note too that the default record.abs contains two lines melm 710. melm 710 Author,Corporate-name #melm 710$t author,Author-title,Name-and-title,Title,Title-uniform melm 710$t Author-title,Name-and-title,Title,Title-uniform #melm 710$a author,author:p,Name-and-title melm 710$a Name-and-title melm 710$9 Koha-Auth-Number #melm 710 author,Name melm 710 Author,Name I commented the last melm 710 Author,Name line and moved the first melm 710 line downwards. This resolves the search problem after reindexing. Like this: #melm 710$t author,Author-title,Name-and-title,Title,Title-uniform melm 710$t Author-title,Name-and-title,Title,Title-uniform #melm 710$a author,author:p,Name-and-title melm 710$a Name-and-title melm 710$9 Koha-Auth-Number #melm 710 author,Name #melm 710 Author,Name #MR commented melm 710 Author,Corporate-name Regards, Marcel de Rooy

Cannot search by acquisition date
by PMCook 22 Oct '09

22 Oct '09

I am using Koha 3.0.3 without Zebra. I cannot perform an advanced search on acquisition date. I keep getting no results. I can do a simple search and put the date there and it will pull up any record with an indexed date of that value so I get acq date and last seen for example. I have looked at the table Items and I see the dates are all there and in the proper format. I assume I should be able to do these searches without Zebra. Can somebody please offer some assistance? -- View this message in context: http://www.nabble.com/Cannot-search-by-acquisition-date-tp25933065p25933065… Sent from the Koha - Discuss mailing list archive at Nabble.com.

help installing Koha for Windows
by Christopher Brown-Syed PhD 21 Oct '09

21 Oct '09

Greetings, I have been attempting to install Koha on a Windows XP platform. The installer (Koha2.2.9-W32-R1.exe) works fine, until the script reaches the "unpacking MARC Charset 0.92" line, then hangs. (The version of perl installed is ActivePerl-5.8.9.826-MSWin32-x86, and I note that MARC Charset 1.1 is what's currently available via CPAN.... ) Suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Chris Brown-Syed cbrownsyed(a)cogeco.ca

Fine Accrual
by Melanie Hedgespeth 21 Oct '09

21 Oct '09

We just moved to KOHA and fines are not accruing, does anyone else have this problem and/or do your fines work? (In other words, someone brings back an item that is 5 days overdue, and they get no fines at all. Our circ map is correct.) Thanks! Hello, I was wondering if someone out there using KOHA could help me? Our consortium is Southeast Kansas Library System SEKnFIND we use KOHA. Is there any possible way to empty out the biblios in the reservoir? Do the staged MARC records need to remain or is there any way to clean them out. When we bring on new libraries we are getting records in that have no items attatched to them and are just sitting there. These records were suppose to remain only in the reservoir but came on in anyway. We would like to get rid of those records in our catalog. I'm not sure how to do that.
