Hi I am encountering problems when trying to import a record that has been searched and downloaded from the z39.50. I can view that MARC record and I can view the card. However, when I trying to import I get the following error: Koha error The following fatal error has occurred: Can't call method "add_subfields" on an undefined value at /usr/share/koha/intranet/cgi-bin/cataloguing/addbiblio.pl line 141. Running z39.50 behind a firewall-which ports to open
by Mutsikiwa Admire 30 Jul '10

30 Jul '10

Hi all, We are running our newly installed koha 3 behind a firewall. Each time we try to use the z39.50 facility, we are getting a connection timeout. I am suspecting there should be some ports eg tcp 210 that should be opened on the firewall. I will appreciate any help. changing loan times
by Rachel Hollis 29 Jul '10

29 Jul '10

Greetings colleagues, our library's materials all circulate for four weeks. I'd like to change the loan times to two weeks for books, and one week for visual materials. I just checked the circulation & fines rules and found that I evidently changed it a while back though all our materials still go out for four weeks: Patron Category - Item Type - Fine Amount - Fine Grace Period - Fine Charging Interval - Current Checkouts Allowed - Loan Period IL - Default - $0.00 - Unlimited - 70 day(s) Default - Books - $0.00 - Unlimited - 14 day(s) Default - NonCirculating & Reference - $0.00 - Unlimited - 7 day(s) Default - VHS & DVDs - $0.00 - Unlimited - 7 day(s) Default - Default - $0.00 - Unlimited - 30 day(s) So what must I do to get materials to circulate according to the circulation & fines rules? Am I missing something? I also checked the patron types & categories and item types & circulation codes just in case and found that everything looks good. Here's what we've got: Koha version: 3.01.00.001 OS version: Linux library 2.6.18-6-686 #1 SMP Fri Jun 6 22:22:11 UTC 2008 i686 GNU/Linux Perl version: 5.008008 MySQL version: mysql Ver 14.12 Apache version: Server version: Apache/2.2.3 Zebra version: Zebra 2.0.32 Rachel Hollis, librarian Stevens-Henager College, Boise Idaho Campus ________________________________ This message is for the designated recipient only and may contain privileged, proprietary, or otherwise private information. conversion marc21 to unimarc
by Daniel Legoff 29 Jul '10

29 Jul '10

Bonjour, our library is moving to Koha this year with the help of Paul Poulain's biblibre. We are a large public library specialized in "francophone" (French speaking) litterature. Our Koha will be set up as using the UNIMARC format, inside and as the import format But we wish to use the canadian libraries AMICUS repository to import French canadian bibliographic records. They are exported in iso2709 marc 21. Does anyone of the Koha community knows of such an API configurated for translating marc21 to unimarc ? We have downloaded USEMARCON which is a conversion tool , but it leaves the user in front of the task of typing in the marc21/Unimarc table.. If we could avoid this ! Thanks a lot daniel -- Daniel Le Goff Bibliothèque francophone multimédia 2 place Aimé-Césaire 87032 Limoges cedex 05 55 45 96 94 dlegoff(a)bm-limoges.fr http://www.bm-limoges.fr Avant d'imprimer, pensez à l'environnement

load items AFTER bib records load
by Luís Díaz 29 Jul '10

29 Jul '10

Hello all I would like to know if it's possible to load items after a load of bib records. I know that I can load an item at the same time, adding the 952 tag... But can it be done later? if yes, what is the information needed into the item to be linked with the bib record? Thanks a lot

All in one search
by Nitesh Rijal 29 Jul '10

29 Jul '10

Hello all. We have about 12 libraries running KOHA under one single installation but multiple databases. Is it possible to search in all the databases through any one of the interfaces? I mean to say that, when I make a search then it should look in all the databases and return the result under each library name category in a page. I guess that is not possible in the default koha installation, but I'd like to ask if there is someway how it can be achieved. As far as I know, it can be only done by manually adding different branches and then adding records under each branch by bulkmarc import. But still may be there is another way that is easier and more convinient. Please reply. Thank you. -- Nitesh Rijal BE IT rijal.it(a)gmail.com http://niteshrijal.com.np http://facebook.com/openrijal http://twitter.com/openrijal +9779841458173
