Hello again, Update to this message: my IT specialist finally got the URL settings to stick. However, this has not solved our searching problem (see next paragraph). So I still welcome your ideas! ________________ I posted a message yesterday about the searching problem I have in 3.2, which is that although the database appears to be populated -- I can view the records in a public list that I had created and also view records by typing URLs in the format http://10.70.0.78/cgi-bin/koha/opac-detail.pl?biblionumber=7910, altering the bib number to view other records - the records cannot be retrieved through a search. When we search the database, we have the error "No results match your search". I received a couple of responses, suggesting that I check the searching FAQs on koha-community.org and possibly reindex my database (this has been done), and also that I enable the QueryWeightFields pref (this was enabled all along). However, just now I realized that a couple of the sys prefs that I thought I had changed after the 3.2 upgrade had somehow remained at their previous setting. So after the upgrade to 3.2, our OPAC base URL (OPACbaseURL pref) and our staff client URL (StaffClientBaseURL) both changed. I edited both of these but the changes did not take! I tried changing them again, but when I navigate away from the admin page and then check back, the settings have reverted back to the old URLs. Can anyone help? I am *assuming* this is causing the searching problem... Thanks! Amy Amy C. Online demo for 3.2?

Is such a beast available anywhere? Looking for demos of both staff client & OPAC, something along the lines of http://www.liblime.com/demos I found something here -- http://www.osslabs.biz/koha_library_management_system/try_koha/demo.html -- but this seems to be for version 3.01 not 3.2 as advertised. Koha and OpenURL Resolvers

Hello All - I am working in a library that is considering migrating to Koha from Millennium. We currently use Webbridge as our openURL link resolver and I am looking for alternatives to use if we migrate. Is anyone using a link resolver with Koha? If so, what are you using and are you happy with it? I am interested to hear about proprietary or open source solutions. Thank you for your time! Searching problems in 3.2 beta

Hello, Recently, after consulting this list, my IT specialist Jon and I upgraded from Koha 3.0001005 to the 3.2 beta. He went straight for 3.2 because he said that The Koha virtual appliance we are using can only be updated through its internal updater, and we were running the latest version that it supports. However, he was able to set up a new virtual machine to make the upgrade to 3.2. The issue we have now is that although the database appears to be populated -- I can view the records in a public list that I had created and also view records by typing URLs in the format http://10.70.0.78/cgi-bin/koha/opac-detail.pl?biblionumber=7910, altering the bib number to view other records - the records cannot be retrieved through a search. When we search the database, we have the error "No results match your search". The sys preferences and other settings seem to have migrated correctly, and we tried reindexing the database to fix this problem. Do you have any other thoughts? Thanks as always. a Amy C. Kohaofflinecirculation tool

Hello all, I am trying to use koha offline circulation tool. i installed php/GTK in ubuntu 9.10 from .deb source. http://millruntech.com/koha/koha-tools/koha-offline-circulation. I could not find any way to kick start the application. I issued command KohaOfflineCirculation which shows up some window which doesnot fit in my screen. How we should be able to enter the data in to a CSV file and then programaticaly create MARC records for upload in Koha eventually? Hi, I am a part of the group who are currently evaluating migration from Millennium to Koha and was wondering if there is a case study which has been done which outlines how has the experience been, common pitfalls or some other useful information which can help us in getting to speed in doing a test evaluation? If there are any useful links or information you can point out from migrating from Millennium to Koha that would be helpful too with respect to in which format the data should be exported from Millennium, what format is accepted by Koha, how the transformation mapping done. To define default 9xx fields for Unimarc setup in all languages

Hi to all I sent this mail to different Koha-mailing list because the topic is quite wide. If you are also on koha-dev list, replaty to this list. Instead replay on koha general list. I send the mail also to koha-france because many user of Unimarc are French. But I don't know French, please replay to koha general list or to koha-dev. Today the complete Unimarc setups are the English and French, As I know Italian, Ukrain, Russian and Poland setups are direct translation of English or Frence setup But on local fields English and French are not compatible. Many 9xx fields need to be the same in different languages because the indexes definitions in the file etc/zebradb/marc_defs/unimarc/biblios/record.abs are based on specific 9xx values. And the file record.abs is only one for all Unimarc setup So my proposal, for 3.2 and also [if possible ] for 3.0.x We re-write English setup in 9xx fields and we use it a minimun and a standard that ALL unimarc setups need to follow. It means that we need same change also to French setup. I want to discuss with everyone about this topic. I will write all the patch to fix the situation. This field is new for all unimarc setup, in english unimarc setup there is 990 but 990 is similar, not identical. I select 942 instead of 990 because 990 is present in French setup with a specific meaning. I ask to French people to accept to put biblioitems.totalissues in 942$0, it is the base of the popularity index. Now the base of popularity index is in 995$s. New Z39.50 Server

Hi all, I would like to add new Z39.50 server(i.e. COPAC) in my server lists, but this server uses sutrs, xml and grs-1 as a record syntaxes.
