Regarding Acquisition From a new (empty) record
by Thomas Theresa 01 Apr '11

01 Apr '11

Dear All, I have some doubt in the acquistion module. When a Patron is giving suggestion through the OPAC, how patrons can add multiple orders. When we are adding records to the basket using From a new (empty) record, how can we add more fields in the form, like Edition, Editor, Additional Authors etc. While we are exporting the Basket, we are having the fileds like contractname, ordernumber, line ,entrydate, isbn, author, title, publishercode, collectiontitle ,notes ,quantity ,rrp I also would also like to have the field Publication Year also in the export csv file. One more doubt, When we are entering the data using From a new (empty) record, in the database copyrightdate of record is updated instead of Publication Year. Kindly help us in this regard With regards Thomas Abraham

It is a bit confusing, but it's the 17 listed in the manual (and in the online help). IE not the 2 marked for future use. Chris

Problem circulation records
by Sharon Jackson 01 Apr '11

Hi, Can anyone help me please? I have a problem with some of my circulation records. The patron checkout session shows that an item is checked out to a patron but there are no item details, just a due date, which I can't get rid of. The (non-existent) item can't be checked in. Can anyone suggest how to remove these? thanks! Sharon -- Sharon Jackson Librarian RLIANZA Albany Senior High School P O Box 300-380 Albany 0752 Phone. (09)451 9065 Fax. (09)451 9209

I am fighting our Marc 100 tag right now. We only use $a, c, d, e, and q (all other subfields set to "ignore") and all the desired subfields are set in the "more constraints" to 0 => OPAC Intranet Editor !Collapsed --- note the *not* collapsed. However, when using the staff input screen, clicking on tab 1 gives 100$a "not collapsed" and all the others hidden - you have to click on the label MAIN ENTRY--PERSONAL NAME to make the other four subfields appear. The manual says: "Once your Framework appears on the screen you can ... delete each field" - our experience is that if you delete fields, you'll never get the framework functioning. Deleting 999 and later resuscitating it is catastrophic - we found out the hard way with a corrupted koha.db. The only thing to do for "I don't want it in the editor (i.e., the staff's input screen)" is to go through all the subfields of every Marc tag that you wish to "delete" and in the "tab" box, click on "ignore." My right hand is sore from mouse-clicking as there don't appear to be any keyboard short cuts... I did start a thread on the Koha-devel list a day or two ago - you might find some useful pointers there. Best, Paul Tired old sys-admin

Which says exactly what was just posted but doesn't tell anyone what it MEANS :-) I've been trying to get programmers to speak in "layman's terms" ever since I first saw this cryptic explanation: http://koha-community.org/documentation/3-2-manual/?ch=x4488#marcbibframewo… : - hidden - allows you to select from 19 possible visibility conditions, 17 of which are implemented. They are the following: - -9 => Future use - -8 => Flag - -7 => OPAC !Intranet !Editor Collapsed - -6 => OPAC Intranet !Editor !Collapsed - -5 => OPAC Intranet !Editor Collapsed - -4 => OPAC !Intranet !Editor !Collapsed - -3 => OPAC !Intranet Editor Collapsed - -2 => OPAC !Intranet Editor !Collapsed - -1 => OPAC Intranet Editor Collapsed - 0 => OPAC Intranet Editor !Collapsed - 1 => !OPAC Intranet Editor Collapsed - 2 => !OPAC !Intranet Editor !Collapsed - 3 => !OPAC !Intranet Editor Collapsed - 4 => !OPAC Intranet Editor !Collapsed - 5 => !OPAC !Intranet !Editor Collapsed - 6 => !OPAC Intranet !Editor !Collapsed - 7 => !OPAC Intranet !Editor Collapsed - 8 => !OPAC !Intranet !Editor !Collapsed - 9 => Future use URL : if checked, the subfield is an URL, and can be clicked - ( ! means 'not visible' or in the case of Collapsed 'not Collapsed') In layman's terms.... 0 => OPAC Intranet Editor !Collapsed equates to: 0 means it would be visible in the opac visibile in the "intranet" , ie "STAFF CLIENT" visible in the "editor", ie staff client cataloging marc editor and !collapsed means the entire tag displays, ie, is not "collapsed" And which 17 are actually implemented?? -- ========================= Maria Laude, M.S.L.S. subfields in cataloging framework

Hi, What do these figures correspond to the tab "hidden" in the configuration of subfields for cataloging framework. (-5, -4, -3, -2, -1, 0, 1, 2, ...)? How can I make the link between my biblio framework and my authority framework? Thanks Martin Caris
