After Update to 3.4.1 - XML error

Dear all, after updating to 3.4.1 I got a new problem. I tried to fix it with help of the list and google, but there is still no result. So I hope you can help me. At first, I found out, that I should switch my language back to english before doing the upgrade. Sorry I didn't - read it first after the update - so I think it will be the reason of the problem. I use language german! What had I done: 1. After the upgrade I could not open the webinstaller. After looking in the list I found that the *.pl files need permission.. so I chmod all files in the cgibin folder for intranet and opac (with -R) . -> Problem solved I could run the webinstaller. 2. After that I got my problem. The display was broke down, and I got the error: " xml:lang="" dir="" xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> /includes/favicon.ico" type="image/x-icon" /> /lib/jquery/plugins/ui.tabs.css" /> /css/print.css" /> " /> /css/staff-global.css" /> /" /> /css/modules/" /> /css/pages/" /> /" /> /css/login.css" /> /css/wizard.css" /> /css/" /> and the layout was broke down. 3. After some search I found the information, that the po files are the problem. So I downloaded the 3 files with copy fro pootle down, and paste it with overwriting in the po files of koha. -> Result nothing. 4. I read that I should switch the language back to english and reinstall german. but I do not now how. -> would that not help? Koha - problem with holds

All, We are on 3.4.1 and are getting an error message in the staff client for every hold for every type of patron and all item types, saying that the "None of these items can normally be put on hold for this patron" After placing a hold, There is a message to "Please retrieve the items and check them in." when they weren't checked out. If I manually check in an unchecked-out material before placing a hold on it, I don't get the "None of these items can be normally ...." error. I have AllowOnShelfHolds set to "Allow" hold requests to be placed on items that are not checked out. ReservesNeedReturns is set to "Automatically" mark holds as found and waiting when a hold is placed specifically on them and they are already checked in. Are one or both of these settings incorrect? Or do I have something else that may be set incorrectly? Any help and insight would be greatly appreciated. hi i have 2 domains for ( opac - admin ) i want to make the admin domain open the intranet not ( opac domain:8080 ) i configur sites enabled koha in apache with IP and server name in opac and intranet but admin domain opeing opac why ? any help

Where is the link between authorities and biblios

Hi, I have a Koha 3.4 database and when I add a new bibio and link it to an existing authority: let's say I add a 100 tag and use the existing authority Patterson, James which is also used on 3 other bibs. Once I save the record and let the zebra indexing run (-z) the number of bibs on the authority is now 1, and it only links to the new bib. The link to the other 3 biblios has disappeared. If I do a full reindex then all the authorities link to zero bibs! Has anyone else seen this behaviour? and Where is that link between authority and biblio stored ("Used in 3 biblios"). This database showed the same behaviour in version 3.0.6 and maintains the behaviour when upgraded to 3.4 I thought that the problem lay somewhere in zebra so I restored another database to the same Koha install and tested authorities on it and it behaves as you would expect. The number of bibs linked to the authority is incremented each time you use it in another biblio. Thanks MartinMac

Koha - placing holds in staff client problem

When placing a hold in the staff client in 3.4.1, we get the message that "None of these items can normally be put on hold for this patron. Place on hold" when the setting is to place that item on hold for everyone. The logs indicate that the item is not "checked in" When I manually, check in the item, it says it wasn't checked out, but then it will place the hold without the error. Has anyone else noticed this behavior and maybe can give me a clue as to what I've done wrong? where to add my custom perl script in koha?

I'm creating an android app for koha for my school project and was wondering where do i put my own custom perl script? I tried creating a file called test.pl in koha's opac folder, but when i tried accessing it by using this url http://ipaddress/cgi-bin/koha/test.pl it returns a webpage with error 500 message. Dear all, I looked since over a year for a library management system which fulfil all or the most of my wishes. And now I found Koha. Thanks at first! What I am doing? I want to use that system to manage all our family books on 3 places. (and we have a lot!) Our problem always is, where is that book? Who has it? Or do we have it? That questions should be answered with a web based system. And the handling to bring the books in the DB should be easy, too, over ISBN search, of course. So that's it. I learned by my self over the last half year how to handle a linux system, so I am not a complete newbie but, I am also not a pro! Because of that I installed Koha with a LiveCD. My first (with an other pc) try was, I got a message on the browser after trying to open the pages :80 or :8080 - server working. - not more. but I still did just (without any steps before) step 4,5,6 of my list.
