Adding child to staff patron record
by Holly Hancock 05 Jul '11

05 Jul '11

We've been live with Koha since January and just discovered today that there is no "Add Child" button on patrons with Catagory Type: Staff. I haven't been able to find a bug fix for this so maybe I need to tell my staff they can't have children! What am I missing? We are running 3.02.06 on Debian Lenny. Google Summer of Koha
by Joshua M. Ferraro 05 Jul '11

05 Jul '11

Hi all, Just a heads up to the Koha community that LibLime was selected as a mentor for the Google Summer of Code program. We've got a few ideas defined already, but are certainly open to additional suggestions: http://wiki.liblime.com/doku.php?id=googlesummerofcodeideas So if you've got a neat koha-related project that's doable in a three month period by a student or group of students, let us know. And of course, if you happen to be a student, we'd love to have you involved. You can select from one of the ideas above, or come up with something completely new ... More info about the program and the application process is available at the Google Summer of Code site: http://code.google.com/soc The deadline is fast approaching so get those applications in. KohaCon11 - Programme Ideas wanted
by Joann Ransom 04 Jul '11

04 Jul '11

Hi all, We are calling for help for KohaCon11. Occurs to some of us that people might not realise that what they 'do' might be interesting to the rest of us. So, to that end, we are inviting people to submit ideas of presentatins they'd like to see at KohaCon11 in the hope that the rest of you clever people will think "I can talk about that" and step forward and submit abstracts for presentations. The full post can be found here: http://koha-community.org/kohacon11-programme-ideas-wanted/ Cheers Jo. -- Joann Ransom RLIANZA Head of Libraries, Horowhenua Library Trust.

2011-07-08 Global bug squashing day
by Magnus Enger 04 Jul '11

04 Jul '11

Dear Community! Since there were no severe complaints after the first "Global sign off day", I'll risk proposing another one, with a new name: http://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/2011-07-08_Global_bug_squashing_day (globsquad for short) The name has been chosen to highlight that this day is meant not only to encourage signing off on bugs, but to encourage all kinds of activities that can help bugs and patches move along in the right direction. BibLibre has pledged to participate this time (and hopefully more times in the future too), so we should be able to get even more stuff done than the last time. Yay! See you there! Magnus Enger
