Greetings! The OSS Lib Tech Team <http://www.oss-research.com/> is currently in the third phase of a multiple year project funded by IMLS comparing the technical support of Open Source and Proprietary Integrated Library Systems. We are soliciting participation for an online survey or telephone interviews from the open source community for the current phase, which will use the experience of open source software ILS adopters to develop a model for the evaluation, adoption, implementation, and maintenance of open source ILS. The telephone interview consists of several questions about your ILS migration experience and will take about 30 minutes. We have already interviewed several librarians over the past few weeks and would like to hear from your experiences. We are happy to compensate you for your time with a $25 Amazon gift card. Changing the way passwords are entered in the staff client

There is an open bug report (http://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=5280) suggesting that the staff client's "change password" page (accessed via the "Change Password" button from a patron's account in the staff client) use a password-type input form, meaning the password you enter would be masked as it is on login forms ("*******"). I have a patch in progress which would implement this along with a second confirmation field ("confirm password") as is customary on change password forms--you can't be confident you're entering the password correctly if your entry is masked. The problem is that this doesn't work with the feature which suggests a random password: "Below is a randomly generated suggestion." We can't offer to give the patron a randomly-generated password if we aren't able to tell them what it is when we're assigning it. Hi All I just wanted to find out if there is a way of tracking staff activities in koha. I means things like who performed which transactions or who catalogued which book. Rebuilding Zebra

Good morning, In order to deal with some records that are still around after I have reverted some Staged records. The problem is that the staged records still show up, but when you click on them you get a Error 404. This was the message I received from the person who does this work. new server

Greetings colleagues, I've got a new 64bit server to replace the 32bit production server. What would be the best way to go about this? At a guess, I'd think that the same version of Koha (production server has 3.03) should be loaded on the new server, then a backup from the production server loaded (this would have our preferences, saved SQLs, calendar, etc. as well as patrons and biblios, circulations, etc.) and finally we'd upgrade/update the new server to the new version of Koha. Is there a better way? I think this means you will need to configure an Associates tag if you are using Amazon.com for cover images.
