Staged marc import and 952 field
by Perch 07 Nov '11

07 Nov '11

I imported a number of marc records from an older Koha system using staged marc import tool. For some reason the 952 field doesn't get imported. Here's an example of what a typical 952 field looks like: 952 | y0 | p1214 | q0 | 00 | u1228 | dMAIN | 10 | k9 BUS | 2010 - 01 - 15 | bMAIN I also noticed that the k subfield of 952 doesn't even exist on this new installation of Koha, why is that? Where is the information in this field supposed to go to? Upon import Koha creates items, but it doesn't even show the 952 field when staging the marc import. Why is that? How can I get Koha to import the 952 field too? -- View this message in context: http://koha.1045719.n5.nabble.com/Staged-marc-import-and-952-field-tp496216… Sent from the Koha-general mailing list archive at Nabble.com.

Migrating data from Excel to Koha - Problem at 952 Tag
by S Anand 07 Nov '11

07 Nov '11

Dear all, I am trying to migrate data which is in Excel* *file to Koha using MarcEdit. When I convert Excel to MRK file, the data at Tag 952subfileds (952a, b, g, o, p, etc.) is appearing on separate lines. An example of which is given below: =952 \\$aAG =952 \\$bAG =952 \\$g695 =952 \\$o420 TON =952 \\$pGN 1 =952 \\$yBK When I convert the MRK file to MRC file, and migrate to Koha, it is creating several items - for each item. Can someone tell me as to how to make the data appear in one line as below: =952 \\$aAG$bAG$g695$o420 TON$pGN 1$yBK We can correct/edit manually - if we have few entries. Since we have hundreds of records to migrate, is there any way to do this automatically for all the records at one go? (Note: We are using Koha Version: 3.00.05.003) Looking forward to hearing from you, Regards, S.Anand

Seems like you are missing the y subfield. It has a zero in it right now. It should have BK or another authorized value from the framework. >> 952 | y0 | p1214 | q0 | 00 | u1228 | dMAIN | 10 | k9 BUS | v2010 - 01 - 15 | bMAIN
