How to include 952$x in a report

Help requested please from an expert in MySQL reports. The code below works perfectly, but I want to add 952$x (a text string for the condition of our holdings as in "good/fair" or "fine tpb") to the first line. If I add items.more_subfields_xml (which includes 952$x) I get a plethora of formatted XML that is unsuitable for copying straight into a spreadsheet. I have tried "mapping" 952$x to "condition" -- but have failed to create an "items.condition" -- is there another "name of field" that I can use? Setting up KOHA to send emails

Colleagues, I have set up KOHA 3.6.1 running on Ubuntu 10.10, my only problem is that It can't send emails to patrons on registering or even overdues (everything is set for it). Improving permissions on lists (virtual shelves)

Hi all, Following up on the discussion on list permissions in December, I updated the wiki page http://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/List_permissions and submitted the first patches for report 7310 (http://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=7310) These first patches form the foundation for further changes but still stay very close to current functionality. One new point (not discussed before): While developing and refactoring some code, I removed the increasing lists information from session storage. This simplified the code, makes the sessions much smaller, ensures actual list information and did not make a big difference in performance (depending on factors as session count, number of lists, etc.; could even be faster). Next step in the development is now test and sign-off. Anyone willing is welcome to test! A detailed test plan is included on the report and on the wiki. Hope to hear from you! Marcel

introduction, also: renew all patrons?

Hi! I'm at a small secondary college library in Melbourne, Australia and we just migrated to Koha (v3.6) over the summer holidays! It's been pretty exciting and has mostly gone very smoothly. (also, so glad the mailing list archives are easy to search, and that most of my questions were asked&answered already!) Now that I'm using it day to day, I've started to notice that a lot of the patrons expired in the past, if that makes sense, last year or otherwise before we actually installed Koha. I'm guessing it's to do with the fact that I set all the students to an enrolment period of 14 months, but their registration date copied over from the old system? I thought 14 months made sense, as I've divided patrons into year level categories, and 14 months gives me four weeks leeway to move all the patrons into their new year levels before getting four hundred notices that patrons are about to expire. Obviously it's an easy fix individually - just hit renew patron when I'm about to check out to them - but I was wondering if there was an easy way to renew all patrons. I am trouble with OPAC MARC view and barcode search not working

Dear Friends, I got trouble when I try to customise MARC framework BKS. I used following command to hide all fields in catalouing page, *use koha;* *UPDATE marc_subfield_structure SET tab='-1' WHERE frameworkcode='BKS';* ** *This makes all MARC tags tab to Ignore status. * An then I enable (setting tag to display in 0 tab) only necessary fields for data entry goto Adminstration > MARC Bibliogrpahic Framework. This method was successful till 3.4.5. But after apply the same method with version 3.6.3 does not working. If a patron has lost an item and paid a fine. What happens when they then return the lost item? Is there a slick way to figure out how much they should be refunded based on the fine assessed and the late fee that would apply? Lori
