Re: [Koha] Questions on authority import from third party

If I'm not wrong, in your $9's you need to have the 001 of the corresponding auth. Or better, auth_header.authid. The utility misc/link_bibs_to_authorities.pl can do this. You will lose previous $9's, of course. But there are problems with subjects. Then run rebuild_zebra.pl -b -r. Bye. Questions on authority import from third party

Dear all We have imported bib records and auth records from a local system successfully, but now we have the bib records with tag 9 with old authid, that doesn't match with the new koha authid (after importing koha have assigned a new authid) and If we add a new record of an existing auth, it copies the new authid and doesn't match with the existing authid catalogued in the bib records. We are thinking different options, but I wish to ask you If anybody has easier sync auth and bib records in koha... a) we can overwrite the 001 koha filed with the 003 (where we copied the old authid from the old ILS) b) we can modify the *Authority plugin & indicators* for copying the auth id into 009 ( the 034 (the old authid) when exists and the 001 (koha generated authid) when no 034 (the old authid) Any hep will be welcomed!! -- *Hugo Agud - Orex Digital * *www.orex.es* * * Director Avenida Sarriá 29 · 08029 Barcelona <http://twitter.com/OrexDigital> :<http://orexsl.blogspot.com>hugoaguda - Tel: 93 539 40 70 Fax: 93 539 33 30 hagud(a)orex.es · http://www.orex.es/ No imprima este mensaje a no ser que sea necesario. Need SQL query help, please

I have a query to find borrowers with late books that do not have email addresses or mobiles. Now I am trying to modify it so it will show their school from attributes if they have one but won't knock them off the list if they don't. My modification below shows only those with no email and no mobile and a school but knocks people off the list who have no school attribute. How can I modify it so it includes no mobile no email and lists school for those who have one but still includes those who don't? SELECT borrowers.surname,borrowers.firstname,borrowers.mobile,borrowers.email,borrowers.city, biblio.title,biblioitems.itemtype,issues.date_due,borrower_attributes.attribute FROM borrowers LEFT JOIN borrower_attributes on (borrower_attributes.borrowernumber = borrowers.borrowernumber) LEFT JOIN issues on (issues.borrowernumber = borrowers.borrowernumber) LEFT JOIN items on (items.itemnumber = issues.itemnumber) LEFT JOIN biblioitems on (items.biblioitemnumber=biblioitems.biblioitemnumber) LEFT JOIN biblio on (biblioitems.biblionumber=biblio.biblionumber) WHERE issues.date_due < DATE_SUB(now(), INTERVAL 8 DAY) AND issues.returndate IS NULL AND borrowers.mobile = ' ' AND borrowers.email = ' ' AND borrower_attributes.code = 'School' ORDER BY borrowers.surname asc; Thanks for your help! Hello, Regarding OPAC Search in Koha 3.6.2, it does not show the Accession Number in the basic search by defacult. For checking accesion number, we need to switch from Normal view to MARC view. Therefore how to set OPAC to show the accession number in its basic search. and which field in the marc tag responsible to fetch this result. example: please do search in the opac in : http://lib.jncasr.ac.in/homepage/ can you please advice? thank you satish mv librarian gech --

Upgrade 3.01 to 3.6 on Diff Server
by Josh Mikow 03 Apr '12

03 Apr '12

Hello, I'm new to Koha, library management and freshening up my Debian skills. Recently I was tasked with migrating our current Koha system to a new server. The prior admin is no longer around and I have been trying to understand how Koha works and get a good backup of the system (haven't had any to date). I think I have a backup of the database and all of the files/folders that specified in the koha-install-log file to use on the new server, but I want to get the update steps down so I know what to do before I try to upgrade/migrate our production system. On the new server I've done the following: * installed Debian 6. * installed Koha 3.06.04.000 * created a test instance to make sure it works on the localhost I'm having trouble with the koha-remove command. When I run it against my "libtest" instance, it returns with an Error 1396 about not being able to drop the user 'koha_--'@'%'. It appears that it is not using the instance name that I passed in within the DROP command. I've gone through and run all of the steps in the koha-remove manually and they work if I type the instance name for each of the commands. My biggest questions are: 1. What is the best way to make sure I backup all of the necessary files on the 3.01 system so that I can successfully get them over to the 3.06 system to restore? 2. What is the best way to properly restore the 3.01 files under the 3.06 install without causing future problems? 3. What steps do I need to do to upgrade the 3.01 to the 3.06 system? 4. Currently the system is working on localhost but we will need to get it working on our internet site. What configuration changes are needed to work both internally and externally? Any assistance you can provide as I begin to learn Koha and library management is greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time. Josh Mikow Volunteer IT Admin

by Andi Sugandi 03 Apr '12

Hi all, I made a small note of installing Koha 3.6.4 on openSUSE 12.1[0] so hopefully we can make an update information on the wiki page[1] and its manual in Koha package (./INSTALL.opensuse file)[2]. Really need advice how we can improve those documentations. Thanks in advance.
