apache bad user name

After only doing usually very smooth upgrades for quite a while I had to do a fresh install of Koha. To be honest, it hasn't gotten any easier over time. Anyway, after getting all the dependencies etc. installed, I got stuck at "sudo apache2ctl restart" which returns "apache2: bad user name ccclibrary-koha Action 'restart' failed. (Or Action 'configtest' failed when running as root) The Apache error log may have more information" The apache error log is sadly empty. A Google search tells me a temporary fix was to edit the file in /etc/apache2/apache2.conf It said to look for this: User ${APACHE_RUN_USER} Group ${APACHE_RUN_GROUP} and change it to this: User www-data Group www-data But that seems useless, as that is what envvars says already. Anyway, I tried it but it had no effect. Any ideas are welcome Marty

Tracking the staff member who did a particular transaction

Problem in searching the catalog

Hi everyone, I'm experiencing a strange problem, I explain: I have imported one record in Koha, the record has one title formed by some word: "Alice in wonderland" The problem is that when I search this record in the catalog as "Library catalog" I have some problems, I mean: Library catalog: "A" [search]> ok, Koha find the record Library catalog: "Al" [search]> ok, Koha find the record Library catalog: "Ali" [search]> Koha can't find the record Library catalog: "Alic" [search]> Koha can't find the record Library catalog: "Alice" [search]> Koha can't find the record Instead if I search for the other words of the title Koha works well, it seems that the first word of the title has some problems if i search more than two letters as "Library catalog"; because if I do the research as "Title" also the first word "Alice" works well, and Koha find the record. Have you an idea of what is the problem causing this issue? I have try to restart the Zebra server, to do a manual re-index with -R; and also to re-import the record, but the problem persist. Koha version naming

Hi, I have a site that has an old version of Koha, koha 3.06.00.000. I want to upgrade it to the latest version. My challenge is the names of the successive versions to the current. Can someone point me to the version naming conversion of Koha. Some migration issues

Dear Koha Lovers / Koha Community I have installed Koha's new version (2.2.7) on Windows XP. My previous data is on an MS Access Database. I am in the process of migration data from MS Access by using MARCEdit. I have mapped my fields according to the MARC Format. Now I want to use my Accession Number as Barcode in Koha because that is the primary key for my bibliographic records. Is there any way to import all my accession numbers (I am mapping this on 001 field of MARC) into barcode field of items table of koha? Also I am trying to learn MARC from LOC website but unfortunately, 9xx fields are not available at loc, are these fields obsleted?
