New interface for Koha- OPAC
by Quoc Uy 13 Feb '13

13 Feb '13

I found that interface OPAC in http://catalog.bywatersolutions.com/ is really nice! Anyone can show me how to get it? I installed koha-3.10.02 but still got old opac-interface ( You can check it in http://library1.dreamlib.vn) I remembered it got that interface (with very big "search-part") firstime when i tried koha-3.10.0 (2 moths ago), but now, it does not appear! Thanks! Best regards! Nguyen Quoc Uy Admin http://dreamlib.vn & http://vietnamlib.net Phone: +79525768182

Admin email address
by Cab Vinton 11 Feb '13

After changing our admin email address, we expected that our hold notices, non-emailed overdues, etc. would be sent to that email. However, emails are still being sent to our original admin email address. Any thoughts on what could be happening here? We're running Koha 3.8. Thank you, Cab Vinton Sanbornton Public Library

No search results, Koha 3.08...
by Amy Schuler 11 Feb '13

11 Feb '13

Hi Everyone, Last week Friday we upgraded from Koha 3.06.04.000 on Apache/2.2.9 to 3.08.09.000 on A/2.2.16. After the upgrade there were some problems in the database (specifically, "no physical items found" displaying for all bib records). I found this reported bug http://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=8394 and we decided to drop and reimport the database, as suggested (note: I did not do this, my IT guy did it). He thought this fixed the problem but today I am not able to pull up any search results at all on the OPAC or staff side. I do see that the bibs I browse to (via lists I created, images I linked on home page, etc.) have items now, so that particular problem has been fixed. But no searching. I just tried to rebuild zebra because this seemed a logical first move, but it did not work - see result below. Do you have any recommendations regarding (a) the searching problem, and (b) why the rebuild isn't working? Thanks for any help you can provide. And - my IT guy is out of the office today, so I am on my own, which means I need very explicit instructions if you have any to offer : ) Thank you again. Can't locate C4/Context.pm in @INC (@INC contains: /etc/perl /usr/local/lib/perl/5.10.1 /usr/local/share/perl/5.10.1 /usr/lib/perl5 /usr/share/perl5 /usr/lib/perl/5.10 /usr/share/perl/5.10 /usr/local/lib/site_perl .) at kohaclone/misc/migration_tools/rebuild_zebra.pl line 6. MARC export range is assigning biblionumber to barcode
by Amir Seni 11 Feb '13

11 Feb '13

Hi, I am running koha 3.0 on a local production server and have need to transfer a block of bibliographic data. i need a block from biblionumbers 2 - 100 from within a subset of 1 - 3000. The block has barcode numbers 30000 - 30131. So i proceeded to Tools-> Export Bibliographic and Holdings. From biblio number: 2 To biblio number: 100 I then proceed to import the items but eventually i get the information that the items are not being imported due to duplicate barcodes. I try to import the same marc file using bulkmarcimport.pl and get the same duplicate barcode notice. After running marcbreaker on the mrc file i notice the following: =LDR 00757nam a22002057a 4500 =008 090718t\\\\\\\\xxu|||||\||||\00|\0\eng\d =020 \\$a9780123694072 =080 \\$a528.8 =100 \\$aSchowengerdt Robert A. =245 \\$aRemote Sensing$bModel and Methods for image processing$cRobert A. Schowengerdt =250 \\$a3rd Edition =260 \\$aAmsterdam$bElsevier$c2007 =300 \\$a515p =650 \\$2Remote Sensing =650 \\$2Sensoriamento Remoto =942 \\$2udc$cBK =952 \\$p1$40$00$65288$91$bGIS_FM$10$o528.8$d2009-07-18$t1$8NFIC$71$2udc$yBK$aGIS_FM =952 \\$p2$40$00$65288$92$bGIS_FM$10$o528.8$d2009-07-18$t2$71$2udc$yBK$aGIS_FM =999 \\$c2$d2 =952 \\$w2009-07-18$p3$r2009-07-18$40$00$65288$93$bGIS_FM$10$o528.8$d2009-07-18$t3$71$2udc$yBK$aGIS_FM on 952, barcode p1 should be p30000, p2 should be p30001 and so on with the other bibligraphicals So i guess that the barcode is being substituted by biblionumber whenever i select a range of biblios to export. I don't recall having this problem whenever i exported everything without selecting a range. Is there any fix on this or any suggestion? Thanks

Importing records
by Steven Nickerson 10 Feb '13

10 Feb '13

Hello everyone, I'm building a new environment for a Library that currently has a custom-built library system with a MySQL back-end DB. I've gone through the process outlined at http://www.botskool.com/geeks/how-import-excel-data-koha to export my existing MySQL data to Excel, converting it with MarcEdit, and then staging it in Koha. The process works without errors but I have the following 2 problems I'm wondering if anyone can help me with: - The "TITLE" for all of my records imported it empty ("No Title" show up for everything). Does anyone know what MARC21 field designator I should be mapping my title to? I've tried 130$a, 222$a, and 240$a and none of them seem to be the proper field - I get all of my bibliographic records (without titles) but they all show up as having no holdings/copies available. What do I need to do to get the "No items available" to show that I have copies available? I had done a migration from Athena to Koha preciously and had a similar issue and used the athena2marc.pl module to resolve this "no holdings" issue in that case, but I'm not sure what I need to do to get "holdings" to show up in this case THANKS! Steve

borrowing extremely slow
by Sandra Busutel 08 Feb '13

08 Feb '13

We find it is taking around 15 seconds to borrow and item after having zapped the barcode. This is far too slow when you have 30 children waiting in line. Can anyone suggest how we can speed this up?
