koha-zebra configuration for multiple installation
by Aleya Munira 20 Feb '13

20 Feb '13

Hello I'm trying to run multiple libraries with koha (standard installation of koha 3.08.09.tar.gz) on a single server & single installation of koha (Debian squeeze Linux Based). I’ve used koha common package for necessary perl module. Then I've change of the necessary section of conf file and virtual host. Now the problem arises in the searching of the OPAC and Staff Client. All the opac shows the same search result though I've rebuild them differently. Actually it shows the last rebuild index on searching. Any fruitful suggestion on this regards? Regards munira

Introduction to Prosentient Systems
by David Cook 18 Feb '13

18 Feb '13

Gday, Koha folks: My name is David Cook and while some of you might recognize my name from the #koha IRC channel or some of my patches on Bugzilla, I would actually like today to introduce the Australian Koha support provider that I work for: Prosentient Systems. Prosentient has been implementing, hosting, and supporting Koha since about 2005, but has only recently become active in the online community following my arrival from Canada in early 2012. As time goes on, we hope to become more and more involved and contribute more to this wonderful community. To that end, I would like to request a listing on the koha-community.org List of Support Companies to help provide a better representation of support services available in Australia. Personally, I hope to see this list grow, so that we can see how private companies can promote public good through their support for this software. Company Name: Prosentient Systems Contact Person: Edmund Balnaves, Director Contact email: support(a)intersearch.com.au Website: www.prosentient.com.au Telephone: 02 9212 0899 Address: 72/330 Wattle St, Ultimo NSW 2007 Short description of your services: We provide Koha hosting, installation, configuration, data migration, training, maintenance, and customization. We also integrate Koha with the open-source DSpace digital library and with the document delivery/interlibrary loan service GratisNet. We charge on a subscription basis and have quite a range of Australian and international clients, which include the New South Wales Parliamentary Services (ip restricted for local access only but containing 900,000 items), the Australian Bureau of Statistics (http://abs.intersearch.com.au) l'Université Antonine in Lebanon (http://antonine.intersearch.com.au) the Northern Territory Department of Health (http://nthealth.intersearch.com.au) the Powerhouse Museum - Science & Design (http://library.powerhousemuseum.com) the Sharing the Word Project around the Pacific Rim (http://www.sharingtheword.info) and Tresscox Laywers (http://tresscox.intersearch.com.au) among many others. I look forward to getting to know many of you better in the coming years! Error as kohaadmin
by Mrs. Chitralekha M. Chitale 15 Feb '13

15 Feb '13

Sir / Madam, I have set up koha 3.10 version recently and started setting basic parameters and global setting preferences. When I logged into koha admin I receive following message in a yellow box -- Warning: You're logged in with the database administrator account. This a bad idea, and you are likely to encounter problems. You should create a patron to use when administering Koha and give it superlibrarian permissions. I was not receiving this message till yesterday. What does this mean? Another query is I created second library. When I tried to edit its details I see blank form. When I tried to edit the first library it opened normally with appropriate details. Then I tried to delete the second library as I did not enter any data using this library. I received the message library deleted successfully. Still I see the second library. What may be the problem? How do I resolve it? Mrs. Chitralekha Mahesh Chitale Librarian, LTCE, Navi Mumbai.
