Koha : Customized Live DVD

Dear All, Its my pleasure to share experience with koha over the internet in the form of Koha live DVD (3.8.9) which is almost similar to the Koha which has been implemented at IIT Roorkee, Saharanpur Campus. DVD provides many customizations which can convert your Koha OPAC into library website also. Therefore you can use this live DVD for automation and creation of your Library website in a single server. Some useful display and searching features has been added, so simply you need to edit the text and links given in the codes in koha "GLOBAL SYSTEM PREFERENCES' option or you can delete all to add your own codes. There are several unique features of this DVD like direct backup in your pen drive, search by acc.number in home page, display of acc. number in detailed display etc. Please feel free to contact for any assistance/suggestions. Paid For Question

I have a question about the paid for notation on the item record. If you see here: http://screencast.com/t/AKOcYNiPBy3n it says that it was paid for by a patron on the 24th of Sept. Then if you look at the patron's record http://screencast.com/t/UzKqgaPayou see that they did make a payment related to that item, but it wasn't a payment for the lost item - it was a processing fee. I'm wondering what makes this note appear in the first place? Thanks Nicole

Good day koha community. For example, I have an authority record (Personal Name) Muhammad Ali and is used in a particular bibliographic record. Muhammad Ali also has other names e.g. Casius Clay, Muhammed Ali. Will it be possible if I search for Casius Clay, bibliographic records with Muhammad Ali as authority record will come out in the search result? There is maybe some sort of connection (See also?) between Muhammad Ali and Casius Clay? Recommendations for circulation printer

Hello everyone, Curious to know what circulation receipt printers libraries are using. Any major problems with certain ones? Is there any one that works best with Koha? We are currently using EPSON TM-U220 but would like to purchase new ones when we move to Koha. I'm thinking moving to thermal printers would be a good idea. Any suggestions/advice is appreciated! Koha Usage Examples

Hello Koha Community My name's Mark Johnson, and I work for OSS Watch at the University of Oxford. Recently, we published a document entitled "Open Source Options for Education"[1] which includes a mention of Koha. After we announced the document's publication, we received some feedback from the Koha community via Twitter that we'd given the wrong link and a misleading example of Koha's usage, so I've come here to make sure that we can set it right. We've not changed the link for Koha to point to koha-community.org, as requested by a message on Twitter[2]. We were also informed that our example of Koha being used at the University of the West of England was in fact "LibLime Academic Koha", which "is not FOSS, nor has it ever been"[3]. This is obviously a misunderstanding on my part. It was my understanding that LibLime was simply a company providing commercial support for the open source Koha product. Am I now correct in believing that it (also?) produces a separate, closed-source product called "LibLime Academic Koha"? Any background to this would be very much appreciated. Finally, if anyone would be willing to share an example of the open source Koha system being used in their educational institution for me to use in place of the UWE example, particularly if they are based in the UK, I would be very grateful indeed! Koha Upgrade- git

Dear All Koha Users, I want to shift my 100 libraries on Koha with centralized server. My questions are : Is it possible to operate 100 libraries centrally having data of 2million books? Is it possible to issue and return books off line when internet is not available? Is it possible to give user only few rights i.e. cataloging and circulation? Is it possible to make two data bases at a time i.e one for client and one for main server in case more than 100 libraries in one system? Can I change MARC fields for my users i.e. limited fields only Can pre printed bar code lables be pasted on books while using Koha i.e. (I want to take a detail, let say we have a bar code # 1 i.e. pre printed and we want to add this # 1 in our koha, is this possible?
