505 tag: formatted contents notes
by Paula Corman 05 Mar '13

05 Mar '13

I am cataloging a collection of several hundred CDs, each of which contains at least 12 or more songs with potentially as many different performers. A few days ago I was cataloging a 2-volume title with 2 discs per volume and a total of 78 songs and performers! My question is how to enter these into the Koha record. Do I simply duplicate the 505 tag over and over again? This is what I did but I'm wondering if there is a better way. My users need to get down to the band or song level when they search. Koha barcode scanner issues
by Robert Metrick 05 Mar '13

05 Mar '13

Hello, My library is having issues with scanning barcode labels since a recent KOHA upgrade. Our barcodes are now much smaller, and unreadable by reliable barcode scanner. Our scanner does not have any issues reading the old barcodes. I have attached a JPEG that shows the old and new barcodes. Our barcodes are set to print on Avery 5167 labels, ½" x 1 ¾", 4 columns, 10 rows. Any advice or insights would be immensely appreciated. Thank you, Robert Metrick Director of Research & Instructional Services Tribeca Flashpoint Media Arts Academy 28 North Clark Street, 5th Floor Chicago, IL 60602 Office: 312.506.0645 | Fax: 312.506.0708 robert.metrick(a)tfa.edu<mailto:robert.metrick@tfa.edu>

by Thomas Ronayne 04 Mar '13

Sorry, forgot to include all the specs: Slackware 14.0 64-bit, Kernel 3.2.29 SMP, Perl 5, version 16, subversion 1 (v5.16.1) built for x86_64-linux-thread-multi, cpan version 1.57 calling Getopt::Std::getopts (version 1.07 [paranoid]), running under Perl version 5.16.1. Thanks. A riddle, wrapped in a mystery, inside an enigma but that's my story and I'm stickin' to it.

Question about Dymo LabelWriter 450 & Koha (Karen M. Rogers)
by BRANNON, CHRISTOPHER 01 Mar '13

01 Mar '13

> Is anyone using this label printer for spine labels? It spits out blank labels when I click "print label" in Koha. Can anyone give me some configuring tips? Maybe it's a margin thing? > Thank you. I just figured this out myself. Go into the printer settings and set the margins to 0 or 0.1. You are just not seeing anything because the default margin is too wide. ___________________________ Christopher Brannon IT Coordinator Coeur d'Alene Public Library 702 E Front Ave Coeur d'Alene, ID 83814 (208)769-2315 Ext. 456 cbrannon(a)cdalibrary.org www.cdalibrary.org

Help activating the Expanded MARC vie win the Koha OPAC...
by Tamoko 01 Mar '13

01 Mar '13

Hi everyone, I'm rather new to Koha, and I'm still feeling my way around as a admin. I was curious about how to activate the Expanded Marc View tab option in the OPAC. I know it's going to be something simple and obvious, but I just haven't figured it out yet. Thanks -- View this message in context: http://koha.1045719.n5.nabble.com/Help-activating-the-Expanded-MARC-vie-win… Sent from the Koha-general mailing list archive at Nabble.com.
