Sudoc icons have incompatible licensing?
by Liz Rea 18 Mar '13

18 Mar '13

Hi all, I was looking at the About page as part of another patch, and noticed this bit: The Sudoc Icon Set * Les icones Sudoc * The Sudoc Icon Set is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 3.0 License by Agence Bibliographique de l'Enseignement Supérieur As I understand it, Non-Commercial is a dangerous license for us as a project, and I have concerns about including this icon set when it is so licensed. Thoughts? Feelings? Liz Rea

Zebra index error
by amutsikiwa 18 Mar '13

18 Mar '13

Hi all Hope I find you well. I am experiencing an error at the end of running the zebra command to index my koha records. When I run the command (the Linux koha user) /usr/share/koha/bin/migration_tools/rebuild_zebra.pl -b -a -v after indexing the file before committing to the database, it produces the following error: xmlEscapeEntities : char out of range Entity: line 33: parser error : PCDATA invalid Char value 5 <z:index name="Any:w Any:p">2013-03-04460030490012013-03-04002394970KF3827.87 ^ Entity: line 50: parser error : PCDATA invalid Char value 5 e="Local-classification:w Local-classification:p Local-classification:s">KF3827. It then takes a while to conclude the indexing. Is there anyone who experienced this before and point me to some solution. The data in my koha system has been imported from some other system. Is it recommended to use Lubuntu Server on a production server koha?
by sheldon_tappin 18 Mar '13

18 Mar '13

Hi All, *Is it recommended to run Koha live CD based on Lbuntu 12.04 on a production server?* I am asking this question because we updated from koha version 3.02.xx to koha 3.10.03 on Ubuntu 10.10 and experienced issues when it comes to searching for records. I haven't been able to find a solution to the search problem as yet and our services temporarily at a standstill. However, a workaround to the above problem was found when we installed Light weight Koha live CD based on Lbuntu 12.04. We restored our database, ran the the rebuild_zebra.pl file and it worked fine. This was done locally. Please advise if it is okay to run the Koha live CD based on Lbuntu 12.04 on a production server. Koha 3.12-alpha and RM newsletter
by Jared Camins-Esakov 17 Mar '13

17 Mar '13

Greetings! This morning I released Koha 3.12-alpha to the world. Release notes are at http://git.koha-community.org/gitweb/?p=koha.git;a=blob;f=misc/release_note… The tarball is available at http://download.koha-community.org/koha-3.12.00-alpha.tar.gz and a Debian package will follow in the squeeze-dev distribution of the debian.koha-community.org repo sometime soon. If you have a spare server you use for testing, please consider testing this release. The more it's tested, and the more bugs are located and fixed, the more stable the final release will be. And, while we're on the subject of testing, there are lots of patches on Bugzilla that need to be signed off: http://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/buglist.cgi?cmdtype=dorem&remactio… Sign off on a patch, get immortalized in the Koha release notes! Finally, you might be interested to know that I wrote an RM newsletter: http://koha-community.org/quarterly-missive-3-12-rm-2/ Regards, Jared Camins-Esakov -- Jared Camins-Esakov Bibliographer, C & P Bibliography Services, LLC (phone) +1 (917) 727-3445 (e-mail) jcamins(a)cpbibliography.com (web) http://www.cpbibliography.com/

by Araik Manukyan 15 Mar '13

15 Mar '13

Dear friends, We are using Koha 10.02 on Ubuntu 12.04 LTS. During the installation I used Ubuntu MySQL Security Tweak from this documentation http://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/Koha_on_ubuntu_-_tarball The anonymous connections were removed. But now I need to connect Koha database with a Mysql -u root -p command. As would be expected mysql has generated an error. ************************************************************************ 'Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: YES)' **************************************************************************** ** How can I fix this problem and over again to use a mysql -u root -p command. Thank you for your help! Araik.
