MD5 hash password encryption
by geromoselle 17 Feb '14

17 Feb '14

I am doing bulk uploading for our library patrons for the first time. I set a default password for all my patrons to be 1234 which they can change on their own at the OPAC page. Please, I will like to know exact MD5 hash conversation for this number or precisely how I can decode md5 hash encryption. Sent from Samsung Mobile

To: koha(a)lists.katipo.co.nz <mailto:koha@lists.katipo.co.nz> I /think /I'm all set to start cataloguing Virtual machine working, downloaded latest version of koha (in English), added SBN (Italy) on z39.90 and followed the newbies guide on Koha.org so library, staff and patrons are set. The first book is Acciaio by Silvia Avallone ISBN 9788817053044 I imported this first book from SBN but it won't let me save it as some of the fields are mandatory: Here are some of the problem fields and my questions: *200(5) t2 *what does it want here? Library name? My version of koha says here: /Nom de institution à laquelle s'applique cette zone - /don't ask *me *why it's in French! If so is there a way not to write every single time? *200(e)* Other Title Information As the field is mandatory what do I write here??? Is there a set of examples *for dummies* with detailed examples and full explanations to learn to fill the various fields? From easy to difficult? If there isn't there should be . If I weren't one of the dummies I'd be most willing to write one. Camilla BiblioDoc --- docente bibliotecario teacher librarian -- Rosemarie della Scala prof. Re: [Koha] problems with layout when changing the language

Sometimes translation is wrongly applied to html code of .tt files. For instance, <p class="title"> becomes <p class="titolo"> (in Italian). This causes a silent error, with nothing in the Javascript console... editing cancelled orders
by Margo Duncan 17 Feb '14

We would like to add title and author to some deleted biblios attached to cancelled orders so that those fields don't show up as blank in our reports. Is it possible to modify a cancelled order? We are running Koha 3.14.01. Thank you, Margo Margo Duncan, MLS Systems Librarian Robert R. Muntz Library The University of Texas at Tyler 903.566.7174 | mduncan(a)uttyler.edu

Problem with Koha and self-checkout kiosk
by Catherine Kerrigan 17 Feb '14

Hi folks! We're installing a self-check kiosk from FE Technologies and have been having a problem with the kiosk talking to Koha. We're running Koha version 3.12.03.000 and the following is what has been forwarded to me by tech support at FE Technologies: When running through other tests manually such as login, item information, patron information, patron login etc the SIP connection is steady and does not have any issues no matter how many requests I send. 2014-02-16 12:29:37,804 ( 16) SC -> 9300CNterm1|COymwovtpkzs|CPCPL|AY0AZF35F 2014-02-16 12:29:38,109 ( 16) LMS <- 941AY0AZFDFD 2014-02-16 12:29:38,112 ( 16) SC -> 9900402.00AY1AZFCA4 2014-02-16 12:29:38,213 ( 16) LMS <- 98YYNYNN10000520140217 1259202.00AOlibrary|BXYYYYYYYYYYYNYYYY|AY1AZEC6E 2014-02-16 12:29:38,215 ( 16) SC -> 11YN20140216 12293700010101 000000AOlibrary|AAcatherine|AB2014-2104|AC|ADm1dsummer|BIN|AY2AZE4C8 2014-02-16 12:29:38,317 ( 16) -- Disconnected from LMS (10.40.0.13:6001) 2014-02-16 12:29:38,319 ( 4) -- Disconnected from LMS () 2014-02-16 12:29:38,321 ( 4) -- Connected to LMS (10.40.0.13:6001) 2014-02-16 12:29:38,324 ( 4) SC -> 9300CNterm1|COymwovtpkzs|CPCPL|AY0AZF35F 2014-02-16 12:29:38,628 ( 4) LMS <- 941AY0AZFDFD 2014-02-16 12:29:38,631 ( 4) SC -> 9900402.00AY1AZFCA4 2014-02-16 12:29:38,733 ( 4) LMS <- 98YYNYNN10000520140217 1259212.00AOlibrary|BXYYYYYYYYYYYNYYYY|AY1AZEC6D 2014-02-16 12:29:38,735 ( 4) SC -> 11YN20140216 12293800010101 000000AOlibrary|AAcatherine|AB2014-2047|AC|ADm1dsummer|BIN|AY2AZE4C1 2014-02-16 12:29:38,836 ( 4) -- Disconnected from LMS (10.40.0.13:6001) 2014-02-16 12:30:32,439 ( 11) -- Disconnected from LMS () 2014-02-16 12:30:32,442 ( 11) -- Connected to LMS (10.40.0.13:6001) 2014-02-16 12:30:32,445 ( 11) SC -> 9300CNterm1|COymwovtpkzs|CPCPL|AY0AZF35F 2014-02-16 12:30:32,750 ( 11) LMS <- 941AY0AZFDFD 2014-02-16 12:30:32,752 ( 11) SC -> 9900402.00AY1AZFCA4 2014-02-16 12:30:32,854 ( 11) LMS <- 98YYNYNN10000520140217 1300152.00AOlibrary|BXYYYYYYYYYYYNYYYY|AY1AZEC77 2014-02-16 12:30:32,856 ( 11) SC -> 6300120140216 123032Y AOlibrary|AAcatherine|AC|ADm1dsummer|BP1|BQ50|AY2AZE7EA 2014-02-16 12:30:32,958 ( 11) LMS <- 64 00120140217 130015000000000000000000000000AOlibrary|AA1|AECatherine Kerrigan|BLY|CQY|CC5|BD16 Belfast St Taperoo South Australia 5017 Australia|BEcatherine.kerrigan(a)acsa.sa.edu.au|BF0418254038|PCLIB|PIY|AFGreetings<mailto:Australia|BEcatherine.kerrigan@acsa.sa.edu.au|BF0418254038|PCLIB|PIY|AFGreetings> from Koha. |AY2AZB3E5 2014-02-16 12:30:43,402 ( 16) SC -> 1720140216 123043AOlibrary|AB2014-2076|AC|AY3AZF330 2014-02-16 12:30:43,405 ( 16) LMS <- 1803020120140217 130025AB2014-2076|AJLooking for faeries :|AY3AZEE71 2014-02-16 12:30:43,409 ( 16) SC -> 11YN20140216 12304300010101 000000AOlibrary|AAcatherine|AB2014-2076|AC|ADm1dsummer|BIN|AY4AZE4C9 2014-02-16 12:30:43,510 ( 16) -- Disconnected from LMS (10.40.0.13:6001) 2014-02-16 12:30:43,517 ( 12) -- Disconnected from LMS () 2014-02-16 12:30:43,519 ( 12) -- Connected to LMS (10.40.0.13:6001) 2014-02-16 12:30:43,522 ( 12) SC -> 9300CNterm1|COymwovtpkzs|CPCPL|AY0AZF35F 2014-02-16 12:30:43,827 ( 12) LMS <- 941AY0AZFDFD 2014-02-16 12:30:43,830 ( 12) SC -> 9900402.00AY1AZFCA4 Above is a small snippet of the logs which I will try to explain. Everything highlighted red is a checkout request. We are sending the correct information to the LMS but we do not receive anything back and this is where it drops out. If I copy the same SIP request highlighted in red and manually process this request it drops out and disconnects as shown in the logs. This shows me there is certainly an issue with how Koha is responding to a checkout request. In case the colours in the above do not come out in the above, lines 5, 13, and 25 are the lines in red showing the request. Initially I had thought it was a problem with the circulation rules but after cloning the rules to the branch from All libraries (we have only one branch), I was able to check out and in using the FE Technologies Circulation Assistant connected to my PC. The logs above are from after that change. FE Technologies are still investigating but any ideas from the community would be very much appreciated. problems with layout when changing the language
by Haik Zargaryan 16 Feb '14

16 Feb '14

Dear list, We have translated koha into Armenian and installed it on our system. However, when we are switching from English to Armenian, in the staff section strange layouts are used instead o the default ones. For example, when I go to Home › Cataloging › Add MARC record, and change the language, this strange and uncomfortable screen is displayed: http://i1316.photobucket.com/albums/t607/haikzargaryan/arm_zps6a1efe3d.jpg As you can see in the screenshot, instead of the usual tabs for the Field Groups we have some hyperlink numbers and all fields are displayed in a long list instead o being grouped in tabs. So, to get to 952 I have to scroll down till the bottom of the page. Just for the comparison, here is the screenshot of the same page for English language: http://i1316.photobucket.com/albums/t607/haikzargaryan/eng_zps57bf798d.jpg Please advise us how to handle this issue. Thanks in advance, Hayk.

OPAC adding new page
by Neethu Shaji 16 Feb '14

16 Feb '14

I want to add a link from opac main page to another opac page (with same opac header, etc.)and display few links/content in main user block...like a link for the ejournals in the library... So I followed the instructions in this link: http://manual.koha-community.org/3.12/en/kohacmsusage.html#kohacmspages But now when I click on that eJournals link from opac main page, it opens another page with koha opac header, etc. but it displays an error in the opac main user block ... An error has occurred Error 404 - This error means that the link was broken and that the page doesn't exist. - To report this error, you can email the Koha Administrator<root@localhost> . - Use top menu bar to navigate to another part of Koha. What should I do to resolve this error?...

Kohacon 2014 in Córdoba, Argentina
by Mirko 16 Feb '14

16 Feb '14

Hi everybody, Kohacon 2014 will take place in Córdoba, Argentina! Congratulations! We have a clear vote of roughly 3:1. There are some duplicate votes on both sides which I will consider software or server errors :P and I will have a look at the unfinished votes later. I had one person saying they could not finish the vote, later telling me that it worked eventually. I cannot present final numbers at this point but the result is clear. I'd like to thank both Córdoba and Ibadan very much for offering to be hosts for our conference! -- Mirko
