Where to put item information
by Darla Grediagin 04 Apr '14

04 Apr '14

Good morning, I have just gotten a new install of koha 3.0 Everything was going great until I went to look at the Koha Field for Items. Instead of being mapped to 952, every item is mapped to 995. I have tried to edit these to 952, but I couldn't do this. I can edit my Marc records so the information matches being on the 995 fields, but I wasn't sure if this would make a difference to having it in 952. I am using MARC21 as the flavor of MARC. Any suggestions would be appreciated. If I delete a framework that is being used what will happen if I go to edit one of those bib records? Will it just use Default? Nicole

Re: [Koha] ATHENA to KOHA Migration.
by Steven Nickerson 03 Apr '14

Hi Jerwyn. Although the link I find in a Google search is now "broken" (http://contribs.koha.org/extension_view.php?eid=15) there is/was a Perl script already written that converts the MARC records exported from Athena into ones that you can simply import into Koha, without having to manipulate them in MarcEdit. The script is named "athenamarc2koha.pl" and did the 852->952 conversion for you. Maybe someone else can comment on a location that you can get the athenamarc2koha.pl script from, and if not I can probably find a copy of it from similar migrations I've done in the past. If not, it have always the same structure (4 strings). Remove checked out status from marc records
by Vimal Kumar V. 03 Apr '14

Dear Friends, I exported marc from one Koha 3.10 system and imported in a newly installed Koha 3.12 machine. Some books status says that its still on loan. No transactions made in new Koha. I think checked out status in old Koha available with marc record. How can I remove that status in bulk mode? Please see the screenshot from the below link, https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B6E3iEzJp74uSUhnSVZ6WXJGbUE/edit?usp=shari… Regards, -- Vimal Kumar V. 952$q is the due date, and 952$s is the date last checked out--those are the subfields I would clear. (Disclaimer: I have not tried this and don't know for sure what will happen!) --Katelyn. Adding authorities error
by fisclibrary 03 Apr '14

03 Apr '14

Hi All, I've just stumbled across this mailing list after being thrown in at the deep end somewhat being asked to look after a Koha instance for the Franciscan International Study Centre in Canterbury, UK. I've been presented with a Koha all fully upgraded to 3.14.04 (it was upgraded last week, I don’t know from what version it was upgraded, possibly 3.08). Anyway, we now seem to have the following issue: Search for a book Edit the record and do an Authority search Search for something Click 'choose' in the Get it! column on the desired item in the results lists and new window pops up with the following error: Can’t call method “data” on an undefined value at […]/authorities/blinddetail-biblio-search.pl line 123 I’ve checked the code of blinddetail-biblio-search.pl against the version on github as it looks like this might have been an issue in the past, but all seems fine there. If anyone has any suggestions as to a fix, I’d be most grateful. (If it helps, it's currently running on Ubuntu 13.04) Many thanks, Andy -- View this message in context: http://koha.1045719.n5.nabble.com/Adding-authorities-error-tp5792605.html Sent from the Koha-general mailing list archive at Nabble.com.

Item availability status
by Steven Nickerson 03 Apr '14

03 Apr '14

Hi everyone, Can anyone tell me where the item availability status on the search results page comes from, specifically if a search yields more than one match and shows the results in the summary format? After a recent migration from Athena to Koha 3.14.03, I'm seeing "1 item, 1 available" for ALL of my search results, but some of the items are actually checked out and if I click on the title of the item to get the details I then see that it is indeed checked out. This is only happening in the Staff Client and not in the "public"/OPAC search results. So I'm trying to figure out why the "summary" results don't show the correct availability. I must have missed updating some field in Koha during my data migration that Koha uses to check "summary" availability status versus the "detailed" view. Thanks in advance! Steve
