difficulties authenticating after samba/openldap -> samba4 AD migration
by mourik jan heupink - merit 05 Apr '14

05 Apr '14

Hi all, We've been running samba3/openldap in combo with koha for years, until the time came to upgrade to samba4 AD. Did that last weekend, and today I tried to connect koha (3.12.01, I know, we have to upgrade) to the samba4 ldap server. We're using auth_by_bind, which should be supported by Active Directory, checked principle name many times. However, I can't login, apache logs says: " LDAP Auth rejected : (uid=heupink) gets 0 hits". Using tcpflow, I can see that my dc1 answers "600002020: Operation unavailable without authentication". So, before I start doing bigger things (like updating koha, which has always been running fine) I'd like to know if I'm missing something obvious? I'm sure many people here are using (native) active directory to authenticate to? Any tips..? Here is my AD samba4 config: <ldapserver id="dc1"> <hostname>dc1.my.domain</hostname> <base>CN=Users,DC=samba,DC=my,DC=domain</base> <replicate>1</replicate> <update>1</update> <auth_by_bind>1</auth_by_bind> <principal_name>CN=%s,CN=Users,DC=samba,DC=my,DC=domain</principal_name> <mapping> <firstname is="givenName" ></firstname> <surname is="sn" ></surname> <address is="streetAddress" >our address</address> <city is="l" >our city</city> <zipcode is="postalCode" >our postcode</zipcode> <branchcode is="branch" >our_branch</branchcode> <userid is="uid" ></userid> <password is="userPassword" ></password> <email is="mail" ></email> <categorycode is="employeeType" >A</categorycode> <phone is="telephoneNumber"></phone> </mapping> </ldapserver> Regards, MJ -- To unsubscribe from this list go to the following URL and read the instructions: https://lists.samba.org/mailman/options/samba

by Arup Raychaudhury 05 Apr '14

05 Apr '14

Dear All, Can anyone help us on the following points: 1. How to control standing orders for monographic series (These are open orders for all titles that may be published under a particular monographic series within the current financial year). The order is initially placed for the series. However, titles are added to the same order later on. Each title will be cataloged separately. Invoices/ payments will be register against corresponding titles)? 2. If we import old purchase related data from our existing ILMS to aqorder table of Koha 3.14, will it create any problem as we are not creating budgets etc.? 3. Is there any plugin to print AARC2 type cards (by specific accession no./ accession range ? 4. How to edit default format of purchase order PDF (Acquisition module)? -- Arup Raychaudhury Indian Statistical Institute INDIA

Making Koha a Z39.50 server
by sheldon_tappin 04 Apr '14

04 Apr '14

Hi All, I am trying to make my Koha installation act as a Z39.50 server. We are currently using version 3.12.11.000. Based on a tutorial I followed, I uncommented the following lines: 1. *<listen id="publicserver" >tcp:@:68</listen> * I used 68 as my port 2. <server id="publicserver" listenref="publicserver"> to <serverinfo id="publicserver"> <ccl2rpn>/etc/koha/zebradb/ccl.properties</ccl2rpn> <user></user> <password></password> </serverinfo> 3. I removed the default username and password that was there for the public server then, I saved the file. I checked to see if the zebra process was running, all indications showed that it is active. To test the server I added a Z39.50 target using the following parameters but it didn't work: Target: LOCAL Hostname/Port: 127.0.0.1:68 Database: biblios Userid: Password: Checked: Yes Rank: 0 Syntax: USMARC Encoding: MARC-8 Timeout: 0 *Please inform me on what I am doing wrong so that I can correct the issue.* Best Regards, Sheldon Tappin /University of Guyana Library/ -- View this message in context: http://koha.1045719.n5.nabble.com/Making-Koha-a-Z39-50-server-tp5793133.html Sent from the Koha-general mailing list archive at Nabble.com.

Merging duplicate authorities - line missing
by Chitralekha 04 Apr '14

I am using 3.14.00.000 Koha version. While trying to merge duplicate authority entries as per 3.14 manual I encountered that one line is missing in output. When I searched for the term "Highway Engineering" the result was -- Authority search results Results 1 to 3 of 3 As per manual there should be one line between above two lines giving options of cancel and merge i.e. -- Authority search results Merging with authority: Highway Engineering (205) Cancel merge Results 1 to 3 of 3 Please fix this.
