Upgrading Koha from 3.06 to 3.14

Hi all, I installed Koha 3.06 from the source few years back. Recently, I have also installed Koha 3.14 using koha-common into another machine. My queries are: 1. I was wondering if there is a way to upgrade the database of Koha 3.06 to 3.14. 2. Or can we upgrade the Koha 3.06 to 3.14 using Koha 3.14 source? Thanking you, Dibyendra Hyoju

Zebra and search for accented letters

Hello, We have a bit of a problem with Zebra and searching for accented letters. The Finnish alphabet has 'å', 'ä' and 'ö'[1], but the search does not distinguish between those and the non-accented versions. So, for example, searching for "rölli" returns "rolling stones" before "rölli". Is there any way we can make Zebra consider those three letters separate from the base letters? I've created /etc/koha/zebradb/etc/word-phrase-utf.chr that has the extra three letters in the lowercase and uppercase -definitions, and removes them from the equivalent and map -sets. Restarting and reindexing has no effect on searching. I've also created /etc/koha/zebradb/lang_defs/fi/sort-string-utf.chr that does the same thing. The /etc/koha/sites/*/zebra*.cfg -files point to the correct chr files. [1] a-ring, a-diaeresis, o-diaeresis. Nonfiling characters and sorting

I'm not sure if it's just our catalogue, so would ask for confirmation (or denial) by others before exploring further. In both OPAC and staff interface, the "sort" drop-down defaults to 'relevance', but for longer pages users and staff sort by 'title A-Z'. Normally a biblio with a 245 second indicator set to, say, 4 drops 'the ' (3 chars and space), but we are finding that it does *not* drop German articles such as 'der ' and 'die ' Example: <http://opac.navalmarinearchive.com/cgi-bin/koha/opac-search.pl?idx=au&q=now…:> which has both English and German usage. Zebra Indexing and stop words

Hi y'all Can someone confirm for me, we can have Zebra Indexing OR Stop Words. I tried to set stopwords and none of the OPAC search functions would work, so I had to re-set the Zebra Index to use. Permissions questions

I'm doing an audit of the permissions of our staff accounts in our system, and have several questions about certain permissions. I have already looked at the manual section on permissions and the granular section, too, but it didn't give enough information ( http://manual.koha-community.org/3.14/en/patronpermissions.html#patronperms… ) Is there any other online documentation that explains each permission and what it turns/off or what it may depend upon? Here's the permissions I have questions about: *circulate* *group* 1. circulate_remaining_permissions vs the other granular circulate permissions -- what's the difference? 2. manage_courses/put_coursereserves/remove_coursereserves -- should these even be in *circulate? *I filed a bug about these ( http://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=11981) *catalogue vs staffaccess* 1. what's the difference between the *catalogue* permission and the *staffaccess* permission? *reserveforothers group* 1. edit_holds: how does one edit holds? Permission to delete cover image?

Is there any one permission that controls who can delete a cover image? If you have permission to upload them you can delete them? or is there no permission on there at all and can everyone delete covers? Just checking for documentation purposes. Thanks Nicole

Report Help - With Rollup

Hi all, I need some help with a report that has With RollUp in it. I have used this before and had no problem, but for this report it keeps showing the last value 2 times at the bottom instead of 'grand total'. So here's how I started: select IFNULL(a.lib,'*GRAND TOTAL*') as location, count(s.datetime) as circs from statistics s left join items i using (itemnumber) left join borrowers p using (borrowernumber) LEFT JOIN authorised_values a ON (i.location=a.authorised_value) where s.type in ('issue','renew') and p.categorycode != 'LIBRARYUSE' and s.branch=<<Check out/renewal branch|branches>> and a.category='LOC' and s.datetime between <<Checked out or renewed between (yyyy-mm-dd)|date>> and <<and (yyyy-mm-dd)|date>> group by i.location with rollup This runs and is right, but at the end it repeats the last shelving location instead of showing 'Grand Total'. Error when trying to save catalogue records

Hi folks! I'm hoping someone can help me with an error I'm getting which is preventing me from amending existing catalogue records or creating new catalogue records. Whenever I try to save a record, I receive the following error: Tag "" is not a valid tag. at /usr/share/koha/lib/C4/Biblio.pm line 575 Checking through the community's documentation in manuals, wiki and IRC logs, I think I have tracked it down to the following lines: 575 my $authfield = 576 MARC::Field->new( $authtypedata->{auth_tag_to_report}, 577 '', '', "a" => "" . $field->subfield('a') ); However, I don't know where I go from here to fix it. Sorting conundrum

Hello all, I have a database that has no item records, only biblios. We are using it to catalog some archival folders, and pointing to pdfs with scanned images using the 856u field. We are using the 099a field as the call number field. In Administration - System Preferences - Cataloging - Record Structure - itemcallnumber we have 099a filled in. I just changed the Koha to MARC mapping so that items - itemcallnumber maps to 099a . After doing a search the results page is sorted in Relevance order. Changing the sort order to Call Number order, either Z-A or A-Z does not produce any change. Changing the sort order to Title or Author works.
