error with newly installed koha
by sean toczko 03 Oct '14

Dear All, I'm running Koho on Ubuntu 14.04.1 LTS, inside a LAN, purely as a testsite for now, so I may have set up my /etc/koha/koha-sites.conf file incorrectly (snippet below). 1 # NOTE: for a complete list of valid options please read koha-create(8) 2 3 ## Apache virtual hosts creation variables 4 # 5 # Please note that the URLs are built like this: 6 # OPAC: http://<OPACPREFIX><INSTANCE NAME><OPACSUFFIX><DOMAIN>:<OPACPORT> 7 # STAFF: http://<INTRAPREFIX><INSTANCE NAME><INTRASUFFIX><DOMAIN>:<INTRAPORT> 8 DOMAIN=".chikyu-library.org" 9 INTRAPORT="8080" 10 INTRAPREFIX="" 11 INTRASUFFIX="-intra" 12 OPACPORT="80" 13 OPACPREFIX="" 14 OPACSUFFIX="" 15 16 ## Default data to be loaded 17 # 18 # DEFAULTSQL: filename 19 # Specify an SQL file with default data to load during instance creation 20 # default: (empty) 21 DEFAULTSQL="" 22 23 ## Zebra global configuration variables 24 # 25 # ZEBRA_MARC_FORMAT: 'marc21' | 'normarc' | 'unimarc' 26 # Specifies the MARC records format for indexing 27 # default: 'marc21' 28 ZEBRA_MARC_FORMAT="marc21" 29 30 # ZEBRA_LANGUAGE: 'en' | 'es' | 'fr' | 'nb' | 'ru' | 'uk' I can go to the koha page thru the browser (firefox & safari), but when I try to log in, I get this error, everytime: Software error: Can't use an undefined value as an ARRAY reference at /usr/lib/perl5/DBI.pm line 2064. For help, please send mail to the webmaster ([no address given]), giving this error message and the time and date of the error. It looks like this has been noted before, but what do I need to do to fix this? Any advice? Cheers, Sean

Re: [Koha] Borrower's ID
by Riley Childs 03 Oct '14

Like I said it it is a database key (that should NEVER be edited and is not public facing and is simply intended as a "constant") koha uses 2 different numbers to identify patrons: A Card Number, which is used to checkout books etc, and a Borrower number that is used as a table key to identify patton in other tables. The only way to edit the borrower number would be editing the database manually. Koha will figure out everything if you use the import mechanism and the Skelton CSV provided. Barrower number is a database key used internally by koha. Set the card number in the user profile. Re: [Koha] Export Athena / import Koha
by RAC IT Department 03 Oct '14

Hi Vikram, It has been a busy week.,, So I found a program that allowed me to export a .mrc file into an .xml file which I opened in Microsoft Excel and then saved it to a .xlsx and .csv file. I converted all three files (one .mrc Athena export and two .mrc files that were converted for import to Koha) and placed them in the following folder so you can have a look... https://www.dropbox.com/sh/dqxe494bn2gzo9z/AABywSMDgEaylTHOJPenxqZGa?dl=0 I was able to open all three different types of each file in Microsoft Excel. I took a look and it seems to me that the barcodes are present and in the correct place for import into Koha. So the file seems to contain the correct information. Could the problem be with the way that Koha is handling the file? You mentioned something about mapping. Is there something in Koha that I need to tweak in order to import this file? Thank you for your time Thanks, Bill On Tue, Sep 30, 2014 at 4:29 PM, RAC IT Department <itdept(a)racsonline.org> wrote: > So I looked high and low in Athena and did lots of research online and > came up with nothing. possible bug in print summary
by eugene jose espinoza 02 Oct '14

In Koha 3.16.3 and 3.16.4 running in a Debian server, installed through Debian package. The 'Print Summary' in Circulation does not include the check out books, where in 3.16.1 and probably 3.16.2, it shows the list of checked out items. I have a Koha ILS in 3.16.1 wherein it's shown. In 3.16.3 and 3.16.4, it does not show. When I updated 3.16.1 to 3.16.4, alas, it does not show. Could this be a bug? Thanks and cheers! -eugene
