Where does it show the total items in my database?

Hi, We are a school library that only has books, no media. The school would like to know how many books are in our library. How do I check how many total items are in our database? (total of all types of books, not total items of one book) How do I check how many records are in our database without having to add a book to check? We need a way to link family members together. I can setup an additional attribute, Family, which could be repeated. The value would be the card number of one of the other members of the family. Ideally it would be a valid card number, however limiting it to 4 or 5 digits would at least give a sanity check. Authorized values are fixed constants. Having a way to specify a pattern would be very useful. -- Bob Ewart

Koha indexing - files

We are currently setting up a server and have a question about the location of the zebra indexes. Is /var/lib/koha/instancename/biblios/ the only place zebra keeps the index files it writes to during the indexing process? We are considering mounting the index files to a separate high-performance disk array in hopes of improving performance during the indexing process -- has anyone experimented with something like this? Error message at login: 'You do not have permission to access this page'

Hi out there, I'm glad to take part in this list in my effort to set up a working Koha database for the library of our institute. Unfortunately, I encounter the first problem right at the beginning: When logging in with my database administrator account, I get this message: "Warning: You're logged in with the database administrator account. This is a bad idea, and you are likely to encounter problems. You should create a patron to use when administering Koha and give it superlibrarian permissions." So I did: I've created a new patron with my name (peters), choosing the category "SuperUser (SU)" (the only available option). When I try to log in as this patron, however, I get the message: "Error: You do not have permission to access this page." So, what's going wrong?! Grateful for any helpful idea! Frank

Koha-Batch Importing Patrons

We are using KOHA 3.18 . We are trying to Batch import patrons using the csv file provided in the tools.I have filled all the mandatory fields but am getting an error here below on all reords. - Line 2 Critical field "categorycode" has unrecognized value "UNDER GRADUATE" (borrowernumber: UNDEF; surname: MUTUA). Search Options on OPAC

Hi I want to customize the option below search bar on OPAC. Currently available options are 'Authority Search', 'Tag Cloud' and 'Advance Search'. Please let me know how i can customize these values OR hide these values. My institution requirement is to use KOHA as CMS so that we have library content pages hosted on KOHA. I got a guide but that is not working for me. Please help me to sort out these two important tasks.
