Can't add items on Koha 3.18.03 built from .tar

When I try to add an item on Koha 3.18.03 built from the .tar file, I get a "Can't call "fields" on undefined value at ... additem.pl line 683. It works on Debian based systems installed as a package. See bug 13711 http://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=13711 I can't use Debian because it fails the vulnerability checks and the Ubuntu based systems kept locking up hard. Zebra index problem after upgrade to 3.18

I upgraded a 3.10 package installation on Debian squeeze to 3.18.03 and now zebra will not reindex. Behaviour was exactly like Bug 13396/13404 I looked to change to DOM indexing but the wiki instructions were unclear. I added <zebra_bib_index_mode>grs1</zebra_bib_index_mode> to the koha.conf file but no progress. Could someone kindly suggest a next step please. Housekeeping chaos for Koha installed via package

Hi I was used to installing Koha from Tarball. I have managed to install it from the package and I want that to be a production environment. I have been given to scheduling task such as re-indexing through the cron facility. My question now is are they not any task that need to be scheduled when koha is installed via the package. I will appreciate any point to the documentation. Please help me to correct following two issues after updatingfrom Koha 3.14 to 3.17.03 Issues 1) In checkout: Continue scanning notice while checkouts table is loading. I noticed that it was submitted patch(bug *13408 <http://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=13408>)*. I have tried to apply the patch for bug *13408* <http://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=13408> : http://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/attachment.cgi?id=34911&action=edit . But source code of koha 3.17.03 particular files seems the already applied. the patches 2) Patrons cannot browse or search: I cannot browse the patrons from Librarian interface Any idea about? Book covers only show when in administration

Hi, I have set our Koha up to display book covers through amazon link. It is working when logged in doing admin. I don't see them when I view not logged in. Any suggestions? OPAC search showing no tite

how to find the KOHA sql file

Dear fellow KOHA users, I am new to using KOHA but I have managed to use Josh Hertel’s virtual machine with KOHA to get a system up and running. I would like to save a copy of the sql file but I can’t seem to locate the actual database file! Any suggestions on how to find it? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers John

search returns nothing, yaz-client returns values

We have a koha install that has had some issues (expounded upon below) At the moment, all searches from the webpage return no results. I can do a manual search using yaz-client, and get results. If I go to the "item search", I can see everything there. It appears to me that apache is not communicating with zebra. The koha-zebra is running (I can see it when I do a ps). I have done manual index rebuilds, and it looks like the cron re-indexing is happening. And, as I said, I can manually run yaz-client and get responses. The server is Debian Squeeze on a 64-bit system (actual hardware, not a VM). I am a pretty good techie, but I am new to koha. I will give a short version of the history in case something jumps out as something I did wrong. The server and Koha were installed by outside contractors. Koha was installed by git. The data came from an old version of koha that had crashed and was mangled. I was able to dig through 28,000 records and recover most of the data by repairing the sql by hand. The old version of Koha had a different format for some of the mysql tables. I manually added the fields so it is now the same as what the fresh koha install used. Because some of the sql had been mangled, there were a number of biblio records that threw errors during the zebra rebuild. I removed those records, and now zebra reindexes cleanly. I can do a yaz-client unix:/var/run/zebradb/bibliosocket -c /etc/koha/zebradb/ccl.properties base biblio f something and I get lots of responses that I can "show" I tried using tcp connections instead of sockets. I could connect by yaz-client, but nothing changed with koha. So I went back to sockets. The server is in Africa, and I am helping from the United States, and the Internet is down at the koha site. So I do not have access to the actual running system at the moment. But I am looking for any ideas that might help speed me on my way. I was about to read through the itemsearch.pl code to figure out how itemsearch.pl knows to use the socket or tcp connection, and maybe put in some debugging code to watch it. I saw someone mention that I could increase koha's logging ability and actually capture the queries that were sent to zebra? That would be helpful. - Tim Young
