Dear All, Greetings! Now, Install Koha 3.20 with one single command at Ubuntu 14.04 LTS Just follow the instructions. I assume that you have installed Ubuntu 14.04 LTS in your system and it is connected with Internet. Step 1: First download the file at www.librarianguide.co.in/install_koha.sh Step 2: Wherever you keep the file, just give permission with following command. I assume the file is at /home/library root@nitr/home/library# chmod +x install_koha.sh (press enter) root@nitr/home/library# ./install_koha.sh (press enter) It will start installation. Just follow the instruction and provide necessary inputs. Step 3: After installation of everything it will open window with nano editor. Just change the port in Intranet (8000), save (ctrl+x). Now, it will open Firefox automatically with Koha Web Installer. User Name: koha_library Password: Note down the password from (/etc/koha/sites/library/koha-conf.xml) file. The password will be at the bottom of file in <config> section. Enjoy Koha! Thanks, DP Tripathi NIT Rourkela

I got coverflow working on a development box. One question - is there anyway of specifying a fallback cover image for items that do not have covers on Amazon? > ---------- Forwarded message ---------- > From: Abdulsalam Yousef <ayousef(a)kwareict.com> > To: Kyle Hall <kyle.m.hall(a)gmail.com> > Cc: Koha <koha(a)lists.katipo.co.nz> > Date: Tue, 12 May 2015 15:18:00 +0300 > Subject: Re: [Koha] Bywater coverflow > Yes i added these lines: > > - id: 50 > selector: #coverflow > options: > style: coverflow > > to the cofiguration > where 50 is my report id > > also i added this alias line in my opac apache config section > > > ScriptAlias /coverflow.pl > "/var/lib/koha/plugins/Koha/Plugin/Com/ByWaterSolutions/CoverFlow/ > coverflow.pl" > > > also the js code has been created in opacuserjs syspre > > thanks > > > > On Tue, May 12, 2015 at 1:55 PM, Kyle Hall <kyle.m.hall(a)gmail.com> wrote: > > > Ah! Problem batch loading records
by Steve Sowder 27 May '15

27 May '15

I do batch loads of records into our Koha system. Some records are new and some are for overlaying (and updating) existing records. The load process generally gives me a notice that there were no overlays. Even though the "Match Details" area says that there are matches. So, I reverse the load and try again. The second try finds the matched records and everything is fine. But, why does it take two tries? I did a load today. The screenshot of the first attempt is at: http://www.andrews.edu/library/Nomatch.jpg Note that the screenshot shows: 1) Staged session with date and time, 2) A match rule has been applied, 3) Replace existing record with incoming, 4) Records added is 4609, (no overlays) 5) Match type says "Match Found", 6) There are matches in the Match Details. After reversing that load I try again and it is fine. The screenshot is at http://www.andrews.edu/library/Matchafterreverse.jpg Note: 1) Same staged session as before, 2) Same match rule, 3) Still replacing matches records with incoming, 4) Records added is 661 and records updated is 3948 (i.e. matched), 5) Match type says "Match applied", 6) Matches in the "Match details". Why does Koha need two tries when it knows that there are matches? Is this a bug that needs to be fixed? I have seen this behavior with loads as small as 200 records. Koha version: 3.18.06.000 Original version was installed by an "automatic" process that our IT gurus found. Updates since then are done "automatically" when a clean update is available. Thanks for any help. Steve Sowder Systems Librarian sowder(a)andrews.edu Andrews University Steve

Problem with barcode printing too wide on patron cards; alignment also incorrect on spine labels
by ccie 6862 26 May '15

26 May '15

I've just setup the latest koha on Ubuntu 14.04 LTS, and I'm in the process of attempting to configure the system. I believe things are pretty close, but I have two problems I can't seem to resolve.1) The barcodes for the patron cards - for patron #2, the barcode is around 3-4" long, with the wider barcode strips being at least 3/16". The barcode scanner will not read this, and I simply cannot find where to change this.2) The other issue is that the spine labels print out OK, only I can't align the barcode at the top with the other text. If I select left justification, the test below the barcode starts at the left (which is expected). But if I select center justification, the center is close to the far right of the barcode. I've attempted to adjust the layouts and templates, but I'm not having any luck here. Can someone point me in the right direction? Thanks for your input.

PHP equivalent for koha's password encryption
by otuoma 25 May '15

25 May '15

I am developing a php application for our library and i want our patrons to login to the new app using the same credentials they use to login to koha. I've tried using the following code but it produces a different string everytime it is run. <?php echo shell_exec(perl -MKoha::AuthUtils -e 'print Koha::AuthUtils::hash_password("mystrongpassword"), "\n"'); ?> Most probably the password is salted as well and i cant figure out how. Anyone wid some ideas will be highly appreciated. -- View this message in context: http://koha.1045719.n5.nabble.com/PHP-equivalent-for-koha-s-password-encryp… Sent from the Koha-general mailing list archive at Nabble.com.
