Koha 3.18 and Ldap with Active Directory not working

Hi, I'm having such a hard time to get ldap with AD (on Windows Server 2012 R2) to work - now trying on 3.18.3 Koha login does see whether username/password is correct but exists with error on correct username/password. Yes, I changed <userid is="cn"></userid> and <principal_name>%s(a)kis.in</principal_name<mailto:%25s@kis.in%3c/principal_name>> to all the different variations I did find on the net. No success. Does anyone have any ideas? Enabling Memcached on Koha 3.18.06

Hi all, Not much on enabling memcached for Koha 3.18.06 (Ubuntu 14.04 LTS 64-bit VPS), so I'm posting here for the community. It looks like I successfully installed memcached on localhost 11211. But it doesn't look like Koha appears as an entry when I run $ memcdump --servers localhost. Here's what I did: 1. Installed memcached sudo apt-get install memcached 2. Navigated to /etc/koha/koha-sites.conf and changed MEMCACHED environment variable to 'yes' from 'no' 3. Restarted apache service apache2 restart 4. Telnetted localhost at port 11211 telnet localhost 11211 and was able to successfully connect. 5. I then installed libmemcached-tools to test sudo apt-get install libmemcached-tools 6. I then checked to see if my Koha instance appeared as a memcached entry (according to http://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/Troubleshooting_memcached) memcdump --servers localhost 7. But, nothing gets returned. Only a new, blank command line. Any thoughts on why Koha is not showing up after running #6? Many thanks! Craig Butosi, MA, MLIS, B Mus (Hons.) Koha 3.18 on Debian 8 Jessie

I have been testing out the installation of Koha 3.18.06.000 on Debian 8 (Jessie). Minimal Server. I downloaded Debian Jessie from https://www.debian.org/CD/http-ftp/ (Official CD/DVD images of the stable release) Everything went smoothly without any hitch except the following; Cannot write to `-' (Broken pipe) error message When adding the APT trusted keys: wget -O- http://debian.koha-community.org/koha/gpg.asc | sudo apt-key add - Solution: I replaced the pipe "|" with ">>" the key was added and thereafter I went ahead and installed Koha using the instructions at: http://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/Koha_on_Debian I am sharing this because I though this could help someone. Importing records into Koha 3.14

Hello, I am performing a batch import of bib records and items into Koha 3.14. I am storing items into field 952. I would like to understand the meaning of the option under "How to process items" = Replace items if matching bib was found (only for existing items). Well nothing is being updated in the existing items. I would like to understand how the match on items is being done? What is the unique key that differentiate a 952 item from another. Your help is very much appreciated. Regards.

Dspace vs Greenstone ...other???

Would anyone care to comment on why they chose Dspace over Greenstone ...vice versa, or went with something else like contentDM? I just installed Dspace and am kicking the tires. Looking for experiences maintaining, upgrades/updates ...ease of use ...etc. We do have experienced onsite IT staff but if it requires a lot of hand holding that may be a factor. Creating a Z39.50 Target - No connection

Hi Everyone, I was interested in making my catalogue searchable by turning its <biblios> database into a z39.50 target. I've followed the instructions in my koha-conf.xml file (etc/koha/sites/library/koha-conf.xml), un-commenting the necessary areas. However, going through the Troubleshooting page on the Koha Wiki: http://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/Troubleshooting_Koha_as_a_Z39.50_server has led to a dead-end. I have my port set to 210 (this is different from the 9999 default for biblios), yet I cannot connect to yaz-client after running yaz-client -c /etc/koha/zebradb/ccl.properties localhost:210/biblios It shows the following error: Connecting...error = System (lower-layer) error: Connection refused Now, I'm wondering if this is a simple case of not opening port 210 on my firewall. I've run the following command, attempting to do this: sudo iptables -A INPUT -p udp --dport 210 -j ACCEPT Yet, this port isn't listed on my server connections (sudo netstat -pn --udp -listen) Can anyone advise, please?
