homebranch, holdingbranch, transfers

Hi, I have another tricky case to submit you concerning transfers, homebranch and holdingbranch. We have 3 main libraries and the check-in can be done in any of them and then they are transfered to the homebranch. But some items from library A are stored for few month in the library B (special bibliography for exams) : we tried to change only holgingbranch (=library B) and location for these items and to keep the homebranch (=library A). But each time they are checked-in, they are transfered to library A and the holdingbranch is also changed to library A. But we need these items to stay in library B for the next 6 months. I tried to put it in a course reserve but it doesn't change anything to the behaviour (transfer and holdingbranch change). We would like to keep the homebranch='library A' to know that they have to go back to this library in 6 months but we don't want to create transfer after every return. Does anyone have a tip to do this ? Koha 3.22 packages

Hi Sonia, What Koha version are you using now? We just recently upgraded to 3.20 from 3.18. We also have the same trouble viewing the check out details of a patron and the note "Loading... you may continue scanning" and "Loading ..." in details tab takes forever. With the help of our IT colleague (Koha helper Mark Tompsett), he finds out that the java script was not loading properly. So he told us to clear our web browser cache and cookies and it solves our problem. Hopefully, it will also help you. Advanced search by shelving location broken?

Dear list folks I have Koha 3.20.02 In advanced search - use first search line drop down to select "shelving location" Enter term to search for. Koha searches for =location,wrdl: ... but 0 results Use second line drop down to select "shelving location" Enter term to search for. Koha then searches for the search term(s) as a keyword, not a location. =kw,wrdl: Can anyone check and confirm whether they can successfully search by shelving location? If so, what Koha version are you on? Hi, I have a question about the user permission "borrowers". It gives an access to the Details page of a patron. In our previous version, we can see the list of the document checkout in this page. Now, we just have the information 'loading' in the checkout tables, but we can't see documents on loan. (It's the same on the master version). It's really damageable because we have some students who works in the library who can't do circulation actions, but who should be able to inform patrons to tell them how many books they have, tell them the due date... I don't know if this change of behaviour was done on purpose, but for me, it looks like a regression. If everybody is ok with that, I can fill a bug in bugzilla. Expiring soon borrower notice?

Dear Koha users and developers We have a number of members (patrons) who only borrow e-books. This means staff do not see them and they do not get reminded that their membership will expire - until they call to complain that their downloads stop working. I would like Koha to generate a notice to let them know that they will need to renew soon - similar to the book is due soon notice but based on expiry of the borrower account. That would allow us to tell them whet they need to do to renew their account before their service is affected, and also tell them about new services/reasons to renew. Has anyone found a way to do that - or is anyone thinking of developing a new notice for this? If not, I will add a new item to Bugzilla - watch there if you want to follow developments. Few general Koha questions

Hello all, Busy configuring a new Koha installation and I'm just going to list a bunch of questions I have. I am struggling a bit with the manual and I haven't had any luck searching the archives. Pick a topic! 1. When patron self-registration is enabled, there are a number of necessary fields I can't get to show up, namely, userid, password, and cardnumber (The project I am working on requires people to fill out their own card number - they will be unique.) These fields are however accessible from the same patron template when an account is created on the staff side by superlibrarian. Any thoughts? 2. Is there any way, after having imported a batch of records, to auto-generate an item for each record in the batch? I do not have time to search, by name, for each record in a 5000+ item library and create an item for it. 3. Following on question 2, is there any way to force the staff interface to just display every record in the catalog so that if I do have to add each item manually I can at least do it faster? Cheers.
